Wow. You really got the details on these guys. This is like 1/76 scale which in minuscule compared to the regular 1/35 or even 28mm. You even highlighted the mustaches! lol. awesome.
Beautiful figures as usual. I’m painting a 28mm French Napoleonic Battalion at the and have some messers minis in amongst them. Will probably take me a month.
The chasseurs à pied are looking fantastic, and the hours invested show. I am curious as to why the gold trim at the bottom front of the bearskin hat? The grenadiers have the plate, whereas the chasseurs do not. I haven't seen any images with the gold.
Thanks for your comment the brass band is depicted in the reference book I showed however like you I had not seen it in other reference material but decided to go with it . But it doesn't look right and since making the video I have painted it out on those first figures . I suspect it's there but the fur hangs over it . Regards Gav.
All looking good gav im painting some french at the moment in between other projects including ecw i love the french when they are finished but they tend to take me bloody ages to paint
Cheers Cal they are blue i paint them Vallejo Andrea blue but the book shows them darker but i have seen them as i described so take your pick . Regards Gav.
Beautiful work Gav, on what for me are the classic Napoleonic figures, French Old Guard. You are becoming a bad influence on me, because of your videos i am getting sidetracked and have pulled out some vintage MiniFigs French Napoleonic Line Infantry figures that have been following me around for alomst 40 years, i am itching to start painting them now!!!
