Superb Gav I've had my eye on some AB frenchies for a while and looking at yours it really makes me want to have a go at them stunning work on them mate
Thanks marra for the kind words I would encourage you to have a go the bayonets are always fragile some cavalry swords as well but on the whole the best sculpts in the scale oh and the hroses are a tad small probably leftover from the old battle honours range but that's only my opinion and not fact ! Regards Gav.
Hi mate yes I agree I painted up some british lifeguards a couple of years ago and though the sculpting was spot on the horses just look too small it did put me off but no doubt the figures are lovely
Great work mate and cool that a private collector has bought the whole lot from you...wish someone would be interested in buying models from me...a fun way to make money! Cheers : )
Cheers Martin you cant retire on a commission painters living for sure . As they say the wages are lousy but the hours and the commute suit me fine ! Regards Gav.
Hi Justin it depends to how much work you want to put into them they take me as long as the 28mm if I use metalics (28 nmm takes longer) I only simple badges on the AB coat tales . Regards Gav.
Cheers John my commissions go all around the world if you are interested in a quotation you can use the youtube message icon or get me at furphybrushwithhistory@outlook.com or facebook . Regards Gav.
@@gavinbooth thanks Gav. I’m trying to move away from them as I get the same feeling that the finish is not clean. They have their uses but slapping it all over the miniature seems like it creates a poorer finish 👍
Its all about time and how much you want to put into the brush work . I just like my figures looking clean but on a table top they probably all look the same 🤔 . But i get a kick out of painting them . Regards Gav.
I think as you paint each scale you have to adjust your painting style . And that's not easy in its self . If you paint a display figure like a wargames figure its going to look like a large wargames figure . Its just a case of choosing a subject picking up a brush and having a go . But also consume all the how to material you can so you can adapt it to a style your happy with . Regards Gav.
They are truly excellent.
Very kind of you Martin ! Regards Gav.

Very nice Gav 👍🏻🙂
Thanks Leon . Regards Gav.
Insane detail! These are tiny!! Do you shrink yourself a la Ant-Man to paint these? Fantastic work, sir.
Thanks just getting in the smaller scales before I get to shaky with age ! Regards Gav.
Good job mate
Thank you ! Regards Gav.
They look so good,a question how much of a difference is their painting 15/18mm to 28mm apart from size that is?
Hi Justin it depends to how much work you want to put into them they take me as long as the 28mm if I use metalics (28 nmm takes longer) I only simple badges on the AB coat tales . Regards Gav.
@@gavinbooth cheers for the advice gav
Gav you have dune a really great job on these Old Guard, do you do commissions for 15/18mm and send them to Australia!!
Cheers John my commissions go all around the world if you are interested in a quotation you can use the youtube message icon or get me at furphybrushwithhistory@outlook.com or facebook . Regards Gav.
Do you use a wash all over the miniatures Gav?
No marra i don't use washes on my figures i like them clean . I will use a wash on a local area on a display figure but that's about it . Regards Gav.
@@gavinbooth thanks Gav. I’m trying to move away from them as I get the same feeling that the finish is not clean. They have their uses but slapping it all over the miniature seems like it creates a poorer finish 👍
