Hi and thank you. I didn’t do a tutorial for painting the artillery because the principles were the same as for the infantry and I have two pdf guides for doing British and French line infantry, the latter you might find the most useful, in the link to the blog. jjwargames.blogspot.com/2015/08/french-line-infantry-painting-tutorial_10.html
Thanks Trist, I really appreciate your comment. Lots to come this year when all the toys will be out in June to do the Talavera afternoon attack. I'll be posting AAR's on the blog and maybe a quick video of the set up here
These look really nice, i think I have this limber in the cupboard need to get it out I hope you'll pop across I'm giving away some Russian naps under a week to go, early next year I'll be giving away french as well, and yes those references they are great. Thxs for shearing glad I found your channel
Hi and thank you. I have just got started with this having focussed on the blog posts but will be looking to share other ideas here in 3D so to speak. Coming soon will be Spanish Marines.
Hi John, thank you. Well the style I use is equally applicable to 20mm and you can find tutorials on the blog. When the focus shifts to the Dacian Wars a little later this year I'll post stuff on how I do 28mm
Looking very nice. I think wargamers always underestimate the area taken up by a deployed battery. When you add in caissons etc. thats a lot of area covered especially if correct spacing's can be utilised.
Hi Neil, yes it is an aspect of wargaming in 18mm rather than 28mm that allows more opportunity to reflect given the huge compromises in ground scale we are forced to make anyway. That said it does make the gamer consider what was possible when looking to set a battery in among buildings and finding nowhere to park the limber
Hi Sam, the Osprey’s and other titles shown are out of print, other than perhaps the book looking at reenactors. All current Napoleonic titles are on Osprey’s main site and you could tap in the titles of the books in the video and see if they come up on the net as second hand. As I mentioned in the video my book collection goes back a bit because I’ve been doing this a while. JJ
Nice video and thanks for including book and paint details, subscribed👍
Excellent figs and commentary
Just would like a step by step painting guide

Very nicely done. I just picked up Shako II rules and am building some French.
Beautifully done Jonathan...and limbers are always great on our tables!
lovely figures, really great to hear your thought process on your troops. The limbers are exceptional!!!
Thanks Paul, much appreciated
JJ
Wonderfully done
Great brushwork, i'm with you about the limbers and stuff. A lot of our hobby is about what it looks like on the table
Thank you. Yes I love seeing the cameos created by others that just capture the look of the period and gun limbers are just part of that aesthetic.
lovely artillery pieces jonathan
Thank you, it was a while ago, but they were fun to do
Good video. The limbers are looking good and your paintjobs are topshelf. :)
Cheers,
Trist.
