CeCe, I love to see projects like these but I have a few pointers for you for working with resin. Cover your scale with paper to keep it clean. replace as needed. this will protect it. you could even use a paper plate. Aslo cover the display with a piece of scotch tape to keep it from getting messy. Replace it as needed. Also you can weigh your 2 part resins in separate cups. some people use plastic graduated cups for measurement by volume. this keeps them separate and it wont ruin the cups because you mix each cup into a disposable paper cup for the mixing. Also, resins cure by chemical reaction, not by evaporation like paints do. the pot life is based on the time it takes the mixture to heat up to solidify. If you ever use a slower cure resin, you can reduce the cure time with heat, also cold retards the cure slightly. Another thing to keep in mind, larger masses heat quicker so they well gel and set faster, very thin castings will have trouble generating the heat because of the smaller mass, they may take longer to cure. One last thing, I would like to share a channel with you. Robert Tolone, this man is the greatest molder caster on youtube, I have learned so much from him. check him out, you may get some great tips or ideas.
