    This story is similar to my journey well atleast the weight loss part, i met a girl i fell head over heels for, it did not go anywhere. Upon meeting her, she pulled me from someone who wanted to be alone to someone thats wanted to get married. More importantly, upon trying to court her, i realized how fat i was and said to myself your disgusting and no woman would want to marry you! I am 6 ft, in May 2023, i was 355 lbs, im now 235 lbs. I still have more weight to lose and still looking for my Debbie! Thanks for the upload, it really hit close to home!

    Debbie is definitely a good woman. I think part of what made her look at her job the way she did was because of the fact that she had loved her past careers and her disappointment with the fact that she was not judged fairly was in a way the same kind of betrayal as a failed relationship on a different level two people who have both felt incredible pain and persevered finding eachother and falling in love that is a powerful message.

    The truth is usually in the middle, OP weighed 430 pounds, and nearly suffocated his wife while being intimate with her!!! He lived in denial about his weight, and his wife tried in vain for years to get him to lead a healthy life. There's no excuse for wife's betrayal, but OP's hands aren't clean either in how his marriage ended in divorce.

    When he went to the camp and then just binged fast food it really ticked me off. Because even if you take her entirely out the picture, dude is already on a self-destructive path. So regardless of her, he needed to pull himself by the bootstraps and get himself in order.

    I dont think cheating is ok, its more responsible to say "hey im not happy, i dont think its working out, i think we have to split" cool i respect that. That being said, i can see the perspective of the wife. You almost kill me during sex, and then blow off the clear weight issue. Id be second guessing my choices because in my mind you dont care enough about yourself, me or the relationship enough to seriously chamge. I dont agree with the cheating, i would have brought up the conversation of seperating. Because if anytbing happens to my 400+ pound partner, what am i going to do about that? Im glad OP found the motivation to make changes because extreme things need to happen to make extreme changes. I just think if it was taken care of earlier then the marriage couldve been saved. Because it seemed the wife was only cheating recently (meaning a few months). Again im not condoning anything, i just think this couldve been avoided

    A very good story. It does more damage to a heart and mind to have your wife give her lips and body to an AP. It does destroy trust and very, very, very few men want an AP used body back. The disrespect and betrayal is too damaging. And it has given many the incentive to make their health and life better. Staying with a backstabbing cheater even “if” you still love each other is not good for your mental health. YOU CAN NEVER TOTALLY FORGET SHE CHEATED. SEVERAL TIMES! Too late does she really realize you should commit first not after cheating?

    If Sarah is concerned about her husband weight she should help him to lose weight. But to cheating on her husband with her old college mate is unbelievable. In marriage life there are changes in the body for wife or husband but both need to help each other to lose the weight not cheating. Cheating only bring pain and nothing. If you love someone it doesn't matter how that person change his or her shape. Many broken marriages happened because of cheating.

      Would that work the other way, I wonder? Say she can't get rid of the baby weight after giving him children, then packs on a few dozen more pounds on top of that, letting herself go because she no longer has to go out and impress men, and dismisses (and even starts to resent) his repeated mentions about getting healthier. So he starts cheating with the hot new secretary at work who's half his age. Would _HIS_ infidelity in that scenario be partly her fault because she's ignored his efforts to get her to eat right and exercise? Or is it only the wife's cheating that's partly justified by the husband not taking his weight seriously?

    Cheating is wrong but honestly i can understand why Sarah would seek attention from outside the relationship if Op was how he really described his past self. It sucks when you ask your partner for something and they do not listen or take you seriously. Op had a problem. She wanted him to work on/ fix it. And Op treated it like a joke for years. I don't think 100% of the fault lies with Sarah but she definitely ended the marriage when she chose an affair.

      His fat and attitude about it was not all about her, it was primarily about him and only secondarily about her. Her cheating was in no way simply a reaction to his self delusion and failure to take his health seriously, it was a breach of her sacred vows that she freely chose and said before God and man, and of the trust she had asked another person to place in her. He put his heart in her hand, and she threw it on the floor. There is no comparison between that and his fooling himself that his weight wasn't the issue that it was. No comparison or justification whatsoever.

    • @GnakIII
      @GnakIII 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@billparrish4385 Read your first sentence again. You said it was primarily about him and not her. She probably felt like an after thought. That doesn't sound like a proper marriage to me. Don't try and say Op was the picture perfect husband who brought no ounce of negativity to the marriage. Not condoning or justifying her actions just emphasizing and trying to understand everyone. It's not as black and white as you believe.

    • @billparrish4385
      @billparrish4385 8 месяцев назад

      @@GnakIII It's pointless to argue about a fictitious story, but there are no doubt many in a similar situation reading this, so I'll just offer the following in response to your points. His own health _is_ his own business, just as hers is her business. His self-delusion, even knowing her concerns, doesn't make him selfish, it makes him an idiot. Her infidelity _does_ make _her_ selfish, and is in no way excused by his letting himself go.
      And that's not to say he was picture perfect or brought no negativity. But those are assumptions about him because of his weight. Are we to assume _she_ was picture perfect and brought no negativity, simply because he had an expansive waistline? She was, after all, the one who cheated -- are we assuming that just happened one day out of a clear sky, with no emotional ramping up on her part in their marriage? That's as ridiculous an assumption as saying his weight problem was part of the blame for her cheating.
      The bottom line is that he was fat and she was unfaithful. Of course as a husband he should have taken into account how his letting himself go would affect her, and should always have tried to be his best. But I reject the assertion that because that's a good thing to do, its absence is a judgement of selfishness that we as others can levy against him. That's part of his own self-worth, self-image, and commitment to himself and his loved ones. It's intimate and personal, not a topic for others to bandy about and publicly judge or humiliate him for, just because they can because his waistline is so visible as to invite public scrutiny.
      Her infidelity, on the other hand, IS all that, and more. Hers is therefore the ultimate selfishness. His own foolishness is just that, no more.

    When she called him to come back home was her feeling guilt over cheating and wanting him back genuinely to return to their normal marriage life. What she wanted may have indeed included that little freedom to fuck around but it was mostly to get him driven enough to try and fix himself. No one want to be with a spouse who actively neglects themselves and is self-destructive.
    That's a relationship without security. A leaky rocky boat.
    He made two mistakes here. (1) When he refused to come back and lose weight at home, to her it registered that either he doesn't care or love or miss her AND (2) that he doesn't have the mental fortitude to persist with losing weight in their normal life but only when he's in a special environment.
    Which is to say that she can either have him continually becoming more and more obese or being absent to lose weight.
    To her what he did means that something else eclipses her value in his eyes whereas she and her wants are supposed to be the immediate priority over everything else.
    This is when he lost her and the marriage was over.
    It's a very man's way of thinking: I made a deal so I'm keeping my end of the bargain and I feel like I disappoint you otherwise, also myself for going back on my word. Very logical.
    But to a woman's way of thinking: her emotions come first. The details don't matter. Fulfilling or reneging the promise doesn't matter (although if you keep making statements that you fail to pursue you become viewed as a liar and a failure). It's that you acceded to her wishes and sought to improve yourself versus not caring about it and self-neglecting prior.
