11:10 "But Japan is not the same after the Fukushima disaster. Government and society agree that nuclear power has to phased-out in a country prone to earthquake."
They shut-down their nuclear reactors, then opted for another source of energy. And their government, altogether with the society as well as many major company marching toward environment-friendly energy source.
This is an appropriate mental attitude. How their willingness to overcome limitation has push them harder and further in inventing technological breakthrough. No wonder if Japan will lead the world into green technology.

The country of Japan has always been one of the most advanced countries in all types of technology, innovating in all areas and changing the game. It is amazing how their houses feed on totally green energy that pollutes many times less than burning coal and helps the environment, I am very impressed by these people. A future using electric cars without producing CO2 and other polluting gases that melt the ozone layer is incredible and will help us a lot on a short and long scale.

When we cover so much of the earth with dark surfaces, and solar panels are dark, that has a global effect. That doesn't mean don't use solar panels. It means that light colored roofs might be a good idea, along with planting a lot of green stuff everywhere we can and find ways that don't cut down forests.

Japan is a country that always has been ahead of other countries with its technological advances, trying to innovate in many ways but always taking into account the environment. They are pioneers in creating new technologies that try to change the actual way to create electricity, replacing the burn of fossil fuels by chemical-based reactions or making the current devices more electricity-saving. Everyone should follow their example in order to reach a future where the majority of electricity is generated without producing CO2 and that is renewable, helping to save the planet from the damage that we are doing actually.

It is incredible how an advanced country in technology like Japan, is doing its part to save the Earth. While other countries like China just want to produce more and more, Japan is supporting the creation of new plans to take care of the environment. One of the things that surprised me more was the smart houses because I thought that they damaged the environment, but now thanks to the video I know that this kind of houses can help the planet, due to they use eco friendly technology, which is a technology that has no adverse effect on the environment. To conclude, I just want to say that I believe that using technology to save the planet is one of the better things that humanity had done in all of its history.

I think that Japan should start helping other countries by giving them ideas or technology so that they can do all their activities but in a more ecological way.

I am really speechless, is impressive how Japan takes renewable energies to another level. At the video you can see how they keep floating one hectare of solar panels that produce approximately 70 MW per year. Besides, these Japanese managed to create electricity saving space, without polluting the environment and revolutionizing the entire industry and the global persecution of their country. Furthermore, they created self-functional home designs called smart community, with solar panels and other smart services that run the home in an automated way without polluting. “Appliances communicates each other’s to optimize and save energy, without sacrificing high standards of living” This explains the video how a community can live with luxuries preserving the planet.

It is sad that humans had to come up with green ideas because of an earthquake, but now that we have them lets take advantage of them. Using solar and wind energy is something that every building should have, it is cheaper and it helps the planet. Japans are more developed than Mexico, but they can export their products so that we can all decrease global warming. I think this is great and if we all use this ideas, the world will thank us.

I think it is very interesting that after that huge disaster, Japan has learned from that and is trying to reduce its dependence on nuclear energy and use renewable energies so that it can take precautions for future disasters. On the other hand, I liked very much the idea of using electric vehicles to help preserve energy, because with the energy from the car we can get help to be able to control energy consumption. But what caught my attention most about smart greenhouses was that the house knows what's going on inside the house, so it regulates things like light, water or air by itself and that way we avoid leaving things on for a long time and unused.

You cam always try something like aquaponics. It can provide electricity as well as food both plants and fish. Takes little space. Gravity pumps and water wheels. We do it with fish tanks for herbs in my house but one day want to live completely off of the power grid. Methaine is another good one to provide gas from human waste. Not a lot of money to make but can change your life. Then you can change your nabors and so forth.

Haven Perez An aquaponics system requires recirculation of water hence constant pumping, you would need a very large elevated tank to use it as an energy store for wind pumped water in an aquaponic system. Overall, aquaponics typically present a constant power draw not an energy source. Also a typical human family would not produce enough methane in a biodigester to light a cooktop, it takes livestock and agricultural wastes to effect effectively use a small scale biodigester and you certainly couldn't fit the livestock and crops into a city flat besides how dangerous do you think a tank of methane would be in an apartment building. Community biodigesters at the waste treatment facilities might work but it isn't an option for an inner city sustainable architecture.

    • @bonnieoppelt2734
      @bonnieoppelt2734 9 лет назад +1

John Wang actually, aquaponic system can be ran without the use of electricity. A hydraulic ram pump would work with gravity to circulate the water. You can do this with almost any water source. The water wheels would produce a small amount of electricity to produce enough for some lights. You have to remember we are talking about a poorer country. Most people will have animals to help with the methane. It just using what is already available to help produce what's needed. More food and some electricity. While keeping it environmental friendly.

    • @johnwang9914
      @johnwang9914 9 лет назад +3

A hydraulic ram pump does not work with gravity though any pump can pump water to a higher elevation from which you can draw the water through gravity. You are grotesquely misusing terms. I would suggest you study first year engineering hydraulics

Some years ago a really bad disaster happened in Japan. This disaster pushed them to grow really fast as a country. We always see Japan as this super-advanced country. They started implementing technology in almost everything, and like that making artificial energy by mixing technology and natural resources with solar power making panels that work with the sun, and wind power. Japan is always trying to improve everything with the use of technology and showing it to the world.

It is quite admirable how as soon as Japan notice the damage that nuclear plants were causing, they decided to turn into renewable energy, taking care of the Earth, and improving their lifestyle. What the world needs the most, is a real interest in changing and improving things, pursuing a common benefit. What is wrong, is that most of the big companies, or rich people, don’t care about any of the problems around the world, because they don’t put in the situation of others, they prefer money overall than being empathetic. It is quite nice how in Japan they tried to ignore profit for a moment, to thinking of ways to improve the quality of life of society.

Japan has always been a country that identifies it for its great technological advances and how it has been advancing through the years but in addition to this something very important is that they have also sought ways to commit to the environment to create technologies that do not affect and do good for the world. They are currently creating new ways to replace electricity. In my opinion all countries should start doing more research to start making a change

The technological advance in Japan is impressive, making it the first country with more technology after the United States. All the inventions that are shown in the video are very interesting and although it could be seen as something unreachable nowadays, there are already houses or companies that have solar panels as well as the methods of intelligent management of the whole place. I believe that technology has been advancing very fast and that many projects have been presented are in favor of the environment, such as solar energy.

Japan is second in energy consumption? That really surprises me. So much of the population lives in small apartments and uses public transit, hard to believe they would use more energy then people in say Canada or Australia. Perhaps that is based on total energy use rather then per-capita.

With the advent of industry 4.0 the fact that houses are smart is becoming easier, but what is really impressive is the fact that this type of technology is used in support with renewable energy such as sunlight or wind energy, however I believe that this type of technology will not be available to most people, as it is a trend that is currently very expensive, and I also believe that there is still a lack of alternative energies that we have at our disposal are not efficient enough even for a house to be 100% self-sustaining

Something that impact me a lot was de HEMS systems for house because is very futuristic but realistic and genius an maybe and some years that the way houses will be.

It is really important to change our habits to help the environment, we could start changing our energies to renewable energy. Solar panels can be really expensive at first but when you get your energy bill it would be cheaper so it is more convenient for the environment and for ourselves. Some cities are more advanced that other. As Japan it's a country with a lot of technology they need to be careful on what their advances are, so that this advances don't affect the earth and some other countries can follow its example and help the environment as well.

in my opinion I think that sustainable constructions can make a totally radical change since these focuses on increasing the efficiency of resource use - energy, water, and materials - while reducing building impacts on human health and the environment during the building's lifecycle, through better siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal. I would love to make a green construction because apart from that you save the environment personally I like too much the appearance of these green constructions since with the implementation of nature they have a very striking color and are complemented with the Nature

I like this idea more than anything because of the use of technology that makes construction easier and faster.

It has been known of the previous accident of the tsunami in Japan, which caused a spill of the nuclear power plant to happen and cause a tragedy for anyone near the area because the toxic gases they released could kill an average person. Having devised measures to reduce the use of these energies shows that the government really collaborates with the good of society to make its environment safer; Asian cities have really innovative advances in technology to the point of automating everything, some household items such as a vacuum cleaner, air conditioning or washing machine automate them so that they only use the necessary energy.

Going Green sounds and looks cool - but it is expensive - up to five times the cost and the returns take 20 to 30 years to even out as well as by that time most of the items like wind mills, solar panels, batteries, and thermal piping needs replacing. If anyone has been to japan its not the end all be all in technology but rather I would approximate that 80% are still in semi modest homes without the electric/oil/hot water/furnace heating, air conditioning, and other benefits we have in America or Europe. Green houses would be great if we didn't have to pay property or residential taxes as well.

some of this sounds pretty cool but I don't get the whole fridge says hello... wouldn't that just be a waste of electricity? I don't know about most but I just need it to keep things cold, not hang out and make me feel special. Also Where does the car's power come from? normally with electric cars you charge them from your house, but if it's power the house then it's not charging...My car can charge a little bit through brakes and such to create some power but no where near enough to not only run but power other things as well

I hope that someday soon all Countries will switch to natural resources that don't harm the environment. It would be great if they required that use Solar, Hydro, Wind, etc. to power our planet and no longer use nuclear, or fossil fuels.
With the model demonstrated in this video, we could easily run electric vehicles, charge them throughout the city, at our homes, and no longer use gasoline powered vehicles.

Propinionation it's a good idea, a way people can work alongside and not against nature as well as enjoying their current westernized "evolved" lifestyle and all that comes with it in responsible ways .....it takes a look at the way the tribal ethic communities live their sustainable life but also allows the current way the "advanced" world exist, there is a lot we can learn from nature and how it actually sustains itself without harming itself ....

twinkitten1 - I agree. Nature always amazes me. If it weren't for nature, we wouldn't be able to breathe.
Humans are a part of nature. I've rambled enough on how amazing nature is.
If only hu-"MAN"-ity would get it together with their mental biases, bigotry, hate, etc., towards each other, and towards nature, then, and only then, we will all be saved from "natural" disasters caused mostly by greedy _____ supremacy.
About week ago, for two days, it was extremely unusual for the weather to be in its 60 - 80 degrees. The last time, as far as I can remember when we had 60 - 80 degree weather in the winter, it was back in November, or December of '92, or '94. I could be wrong.

I like the video and its cool green technology but the truth about it is: will the average person be able to afford all these cool devices? I don't think so, maybe in the future if it becomes common practice to build homes like this , but for now you better have a lot of money and get you check book ready to pay! 😉

It is for me an incredible form of approach a very bad disaster whit the accident of the tsunami and the nuclear plant to stop other nuclear plans that can cause problems like that, and starting to make energy whit others alternatives like the sun where they use zones that they don’t use or floating in the sea, that is an example of the government actions that gave help to the companies, something that I think is a good idea not just in this case because other countries can do this to stop the pollution that they produce.

Great idea to use the car for backup energy storage. Great car size too. On the other hand, the reduction in energy use afforded by these things is not enough. And raw materials to make all new stuff is harmful to the planet. I would be impressed if they said everything was made from recycled materials.

It's impressive how Asian countries like in this case: Japan has always been at the forefront in a sector as important as technology and it is interesting to see the great projects and advances that take in such a short time also in the video are mentioned large companies like Toshiba and the idea they are looking for the future and finally what caught my attention is the simplicity of the systems that handle how you can distribute energy with a simple button controlling from the level of your car load to the level of light in your home.

DanielRichards644 im sure they still have more then the power need in that car i bet they drive to work a plug in and take the power home with them from work to use at night after work done for the day and i bet there battery keeping the power at home ready for when they come home to charge the car again to get back to work this is not hard to see this
look at the usa car tesla it has like 80kw battery in it my home use to use 30kw a day know i use under 12kw aday cuting the big power users in the home i live 80% off grid know it not to much longer i be 100% this is all doable in day and i live on a pension im not loaded with my if i can do it some of the rich can do this as they have the cash to do it but they don't the most comment i is i can pay for my power bills .but i dont see them trying to help the world out its all about there self but if we do do any thing i cant see as lasting long in this world it be gone and to later to do any thing about it .... come on we need help people not just saying it will ever work, do some thing to help or try

Don't get me wrong I'm all for solar and stuff, I've been coming up with my own ways of reducing energy demands in the small house designs I've been developing for potential building as soon as I can financially afford to do so but the way the video presented it was like the house running strictly off the car at night when what I think they where trying to show that product as more of an "emergency generator" type thing that you would use to power the house if the grid went down due to some natural disaster. I'm even in the early stages of researching what it would take to make the house as much 12 or 24 volt as possible to eliminate as much waste as possible from the inverters while at the same time trying to design a house that would likely be built on grid and slowly shifted to off grid as finances allowed.

    • @weaselrodent7131

DanielRichards644 ok cool happy to here your a solar person to and yes with you thinking the 12v/24v good good one more person thinks like me alot of people think im funny to have my home off grid.
A pure dc home it a long way with that mate as most of my power tools still 240v my inverter have to stay for know but i have my 24"led tv use 19watts my led lights in all rooms and my 12v fridge freezer my fish tank air pumps and all water pumps all dc 12v i cut 80% off my power bill and yes know on to solar hot water from dc solar panels go right on my 240v ac heater element i put 4 panels get up to 120v dc and it runs fine for over 8 mths in testing and get nice hot water every day.
o and it maybe be one more year i take the last 20% as finances allowed under stand what your saying there mate cost of living today is nuts

Nuclear energy should not be illiminated because it's efficient, environmental friendly, safe and not costly rather than coal, gas, diesel energy. There's no fatalities in fukusiama disaster due to nuclear radiation, the people die due to water drowning.

This is whole thing is going to be a disaster. Japan is requiring all of the utility companies to buy inefficient green energy at a premium meaning the utilities will have to pass this cost onto the customers or be bailed out by the government. The nuclear reactors didn't destroy Japan, they should simply be rebuilt in a safer area.
