I halfway agree, but part of me thinks what L did is kind of fair? The prisoner was scheduled to be executed that day anyways, and if survived he would have been pardoned. However maybe the method of execution would have been less painful than a heart attack, so there's that. We also don't know if the prisoner was told he'd be pardoned, so that could be a strike against L's morals too.

L has his name and face secret so I don't see any supernatural means light can use against L. But L can use the police force against light which we see him use in future episodes, placing cameras in his home. The fact that light got away with it was not because of the death note but because of his own mind.

This was the episode I started respecting Light's mind. At first he was like a edgy highschool kid but after this episode I was like ok... This kid is smart.
Wait why after this episode? Most people conclude this after episode 2 given he built a mechanism which hides the notebook with a lot of contingencies built in. one is if people are curious then they’re curiosity will be satisfied via a fake notebook. the second one is if they’re sharper then they look then they’ll look even closer and find a fake bottom and it goes even further because if they find the fake bottom (which that in itself is highly unlikely) then the evidence will be destroyed and burned if the fake bottom is forced off because of how he set up the mechanism, also I forgot to mention that if for some reason they suspected the possibility of a trap and needed to find a key then it would Be very hard because of how creative light got in using some pen part as the key . After putting a lot of thought into the mechanism he goes on to explain to ryuk the psychology of humans and how they put up a front in public as to be more socially acceptable and only showing their true selves online because there isn’t as much judgement etc. I just think that if you wanted to conclude he was smart it would be in the second episode. Also I hope you don’t take this comment in a condescending way because I’m not trying to be but I felt that it kind of came off that way but I’m just trying to present evidence as to why it would make more sense to conclude this in the second episode

I remember the numerous threads and interviews he gave saying he chose fun numbers and had a formula in mind. Considering the show has many themes surrounding philosophical reasoning, symbolism, and logic it's not hard to believe he wrote the manga with these little details in mind, but to each his own.

He knows Kira is in Kanto, but that's still a pretty big region in Japan with a bunch of prefectures, which in turn have cities. So although he's super close, Kira is still pretty hidden, the Kanto region is one of the most populated.

About your question as to why Light doesn't make the deaths look less suspicious by having people die in accidents, you need to remember that light WANTS people to know there's someone out there actually killing these people and "passing righteous judgment" which is why he mainly uses heart attacks

Okay, this is what bothers me. Later on, Light will agree to be held captive to "prove" he's not the killer (i.e. if the killings continue while he's locked up), but I was like, I f*cking know that L is already well aware that Kira can alter times of death, so it's moot. He can just schedule killings to happen during the time he's locked up.

Light wants to stop crime because it’s justice. They do have similarities, but one’s actions are markedly good and the other’s actions markedly bad.
I feel like Light keeps gambling as more cards get stacked against him. As the stakes get trickier, it's interesting to see how much MORE determined it makes Light in using the Death Note. Self-righteousness to that degree is a tough illness to crack. Yeesh. And such disregard for human life, and rehabilitation, too. Yeah, I'm not rooting for Light at all. L all the way. Haha. (and yeah, please consider Naoki Urasawa's Monster as a future react)
I don't know if you fixed this issue but it's already the 3rd video that you keep doing this and in my opinion it ruines the viwer experience. Very often you remove the episode from the screen and leave only your reaction while we want to watch experience both at the same time. Here's an example 2:06 or 2:13 or 2:24 or 2:32 or 2:39 or 2:56 and so on. You see where I'm going, the episode stopped 6 times only in one minute and it gets really annoying and I can't enjoy the whole experience like that. Please just let the episode stay on screen WHILE you react, sure it's fine to stop the episode when you wanna mention something important and talk about it but not every few seconds. Thanks, I enjoy the reactions so far not mentioning the issue.

I don't know if you fixed this issue but it's already the 3rd video that you keep doing this and in my opinion it ruines the viwer experience.
Very often you remove the episode from the screen and leave only your reaction while we want to watch experience both at the same time.
Here's an example 2:06 or 2:13 or 2:24 or 2:32 or 2:39 or 2:56 and so on.
You see where I'm going, the episode stopped 6 times only in one minute and it gets really annoying and I can't enjoy the whole experience like that.
Please just let the episode stay on screen WHILE you react, sure it's fine to stop the episode when you wanna mention something important and talk about it but not every few seconds.
