This could be 2 things either WWE ignored her other talent and held her back where they wanted her or Samantha does not have the ability to manage or wrestle and they are aware of that fact.

Nah from her statement when leaving it seemed clear to me that she wanted to sing and or act, and she can't really do that as the main announcer for WWE. Though in this instance I think she's moving beyond the industry.

People can’t hate on Samantha for leaving. Put yourself in her situation. Its like wanting a promotion but your job doesn’t value you enough to take you to the next level. If you don’t leave and try, you’ll just be in the same spot until they decide they no longer need you.
The biggest issue of Samantha wanting to be a character and not just a ring announcer is that her character will be developed around being the fiancée of Riccochet. Unfortunately, he is an amazing performer and that’s just it, so Samantha’s character would be very limited because of how limited her husband’s character is. A great example of this is King Booker and Queen sharmell. Booker T already had an amazing character in WWE and he was able to elevate Sharmell. Another great Example is Macho Man Randy Savage and Elizabeth. Robin is only a memorable character because of his relationship to Batman and how iconic Batman is. Riccochet is no Batman.
I didn't like her at first because she was green and unseasoned. I stopped watching the product for a while, but kept up online. I got to hear her announce about a year and a half ago and was AMAZED!!! It's like she studied Lillian Garcia's guidebook and decided to make an attempt at a level change early. I miss her energy now that it's missing, but she more than likely will be back within 5 years.
I dont mean for this to sound the way it does, but there might be a reason they didnt want her as a character. They could have been saving her from herself. Maybe its like a shasha banks thing. She wanted to talk on the mic more, but wwe knew better than to let her on the mic. All in saying is, there might be a reason she was the ring announcer and not a character.
She originally wanted to be a professional wrestler but didn't make it in tryouts. Mark Henry noticed her and had her try something else which led to being an announcer as Irvin than her actual surname, Johnson.
That’s actually insane attention to detail, syncing the quarter notes and half notes to how long you emphasize a part of a wrestlers name. I was a fan of Ms.Irvin before but now I’m certain she was one of the best.
If she had 1/10 of Whitney Houston’s talent she wouldn’t have been ring announcing. I like Samantha but I think a little bit of ego took over and sometimes the grass isn’t always greener
She'll come back eventually, even if it's just sporadically. I think it's a good time for a break on a high note with no one having a bad word to say about her. She made her spot with the fanbase, and she's golden with whatever she decides to do next.

She's my all time favourite ring announcer. So sad to see her go. No one will match her. Hopefully she succeeds in what she's doing now.
The biggest issue of Samantha wanting to be a character and not just a ring announcer is that her character will be developed around being the fiancée of Riccochet. Unfortunately, he is an amazing performer and that’s just it, so Samantha’s character would be very limited because of how limited her husband’s character is.
A great example of this is King Booker and Queen sharmell. Booker T already had an amazing character in WWE and he was able to elevate Sharmell. Another great Example is Macho Man Randy Savage and Elizabeth.
Robin is only a memorable character because of his relationship to Batman and how iconic Batman is. Riccochet is no Batman.
Dumbest thing I've ever read
I didn't like her at first because she was green and unseasoned. I stopped watching the product for a while, but kept up online. I got to hear her announce about a year and a half ago and was AMAZED!!! It's like she studied Lillian Garcia's guidebook and decided to make an attempt at a level change early. I miss her energy now that it's missing, but she more than likely will be back within 5 years.
I dont mean for this to sound the way it does, but there might be a reason they didnt want her as a character. They could have been saving her from herself. Maybe its like a shasha banks thing. She wanted to talk on the mic more, but wwe knew better than to let her on the mic. All in saying is, there might be a reason she was the ring announcer and not a character.
She originally wanted to be a professional wrestler but didn't make it in tryouts. Mark Henry noticed her and had her try something else which led to being an announcer as Irvin than her actual surname, Johnson.
That’s actually insane attention to detail, syncing the quarter notes and half notes to how long you emphasize a part of a wrestlers name. I was a fan of Ms.Irvin before but now I’m certain she was one of the best.

She'll come back eventually, even if it's just sporadically. I think it's a good time for a break on a high note with no one having a bad word to say about her. She made her spot with the fanbase, and she's golden with whatever she decides to do next.

As incredible as she's been as a ring announcer and even though she's probably in my top 3 all time, she's an artist by nature. She's an incredible vocalist and she even plays some instruments if I'm not mistaken. She's brilliant. If she feels she wants or needs to do more, I'm fully supportive of it. Spread your wings and fly Samantha! We'll miss you, but we won't be as sad knowing you're happy.

Look, i have this part in my heart to let Samantha stay forever causes she's what i never look for in a ring announcer cause she made the role beautiful. I understand why she left, going for more and i want to support that all the way. Good luck Samantha and may God bless you.
