people are actually supposed to have someone go with them to a colonoscopy so that they can get home safely. i went with my dad to his a few months ago. he was so out of it afterwards that he couldn't even speak, much less drive himself back to the house.
I know at my province you aren't always sedated if it's just a sigmoidoscopy they just use a numbing gel and push air in with the tube so you'll feel extremely bloated and uncomfortable/maybe dizzy for up to an hour after and they don't allow you to drive after because it's generally unsafe to risk it. For a regular colonoscopy you are fully sedated and have to wait like 30 minutes in the recovery/prep area just to make sure you're good before someone is even allowed to come pick you up. You aren't allowed to drive for the entire day after the colonoscopy as well and if the hospital staff hear you plan on driving they will cancel your appointment.

Gout is the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced by far. It’s basically like sharp crystals that form between your foot-bones from eating like shit and drinking tons of alcohol for an extended period of time.

2:16 - I can answer this (not as the OP but from experience), gastroenterology procedures usually require the patient to be sedated or numbed with some kinda anaesthetic, so they usually need somebody to chaperone them home safely afterwards or else you have to wait around for at least an hour until the side effects have worn off enough for you to safely get home. It's a super un-fun time! I've not had a colonoscopy personally, but frankly I would consider the endoscopy I had to be a more unpleasant experience.
I’ve had 3(?) endoscopies and I agree it SUCKS afterwards. Can’t even swallow my saliva.
I decided to watch this while eating a snack and my snack was an orange. Using the video like a stopwatch I found out it took me 6 minutes to peel it and 2 minutes to eat it. Also while watching this video I got a Reddit notification about monster high and the notification just said “Who’s arm is this?” And it reminded me how funny so many things that are said about dolls can be out of context.

I had to look up what gout is, and yeah, it's basically kidney stones, but in your joints instead of your kidneys. It's painful, fucks up your ability to move your digits, and can cause swelling and joint displacement. Overall, not sure how this would affect someone's feelings towards shellfish.

@@draskk3471as one who has had gout. It's fucking miserable. Got it in my left foot. It was extremely difficult to walk or do much of anything. Just it being brushed was incredibly painful

My dad got it after he had hip surgery and what it is is lactic acid building up, often caused by you not moving for a long time like when you're resting from surgery, and crystalizing in places like your joints and causing excruciating pain and inflammation on the level of having broken your bones
