  • This competition is all about the barrel! Each of these bourbons showcases the incredible flavor possibilities of a toasted and/or charred and/or chiseled oak barrel. We love them all, but which one will win this battle? The competitors: Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, Old Forester 1910, Cooper's Craft Barrel Reserve, and Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel. Can Heaven Hill's tasty new hot rod cruise against this Brown-Forman triple-team? Let's find out!

A little late to this video but just bought the 1910. I've had 1920 and thought it was great. The 1910 is delicious. May be my new favorite. Thanks Julie!

Coopers Craft, as a $30 bourbon, I'm really loving it after some time after opening. It's coming around for me.
I love Woodford DO and OF 1910 as well... those are both in the $50-55 range, but all 3 of those are on my shelf and will continue to be

15:50 I was just thinking the spicy finish is why I like it on top of the initial sweetness, maybe it's a high rye (I love every rye I've ever had)

Hard to believe I missed this vid. Super funny . I have all these and the 1910 is my favorite and the EC is definitely not my favorite.

Preface to state no losers but a total disappointment would be the EC Toasted Barrel. It for me as well was a tough bottle to find. This will be a one and done bottle for me. WR Double Oak and OF 1910 are solid and deserve their placements. The Coopers’ Craft is one I have not seen in my region and I will have to hunt for as you have provided accolades in other episodes. Cheers!

Hey, Eric, thanks for watching! Sounds like we have similar palates. I bet you’d enjoy the Coopers. We won’t purchase the EC Toasted again either.

I have all of these, but have never tried them back to back. I enjoy them all, but have always found the Woodford too sweet and cloying over the course of a full pour. I literally just cracked open the Elijah Craig Toasted last night; I really enjoyed it despite not being the biggest fan of Small Batch and didn't really notice the flaming arrow on the finish.

My favourite is the Woodford. Maybe something to do with it being the only one available here! 😝

I have enjoyed double-oaked for awhile, on my 3rd bottle and a store pick and its great. I just picked up Cooper's Craft and was surprised with how much I have enjoyed it, a really really good bottle, price considered

the CCBR is 28 at one of the stores here, think I will have to pick it up.
Had the toasted barrel at my anniversary dinner, loved it, so if the BR is even better, well then.

I'm back-stocking 1910. It is excellent and under-appreciated. I think it will become much harder to find once more people try it. Good choice. I don't have access to Coopers, but I'll keep an eye out. It sounds interesting.

Cheers, Tony. The Cooper’s is still one of our favorite bottles. If you do find that 100 proof, don’t even hesitate.

EC toasted was my first ever rare pick and honestly i do regret getting it. It is very warm on the finish and just very oaky.

I tried the WRDO last fall and liked it a lot and am on my 2nd now. I will have to try the OF 1910 now. I like the EC Small Batch but have never seen the toasted barrel version. I am not sure if we can get the Cooper's around here but if I see it I will try it. That would be great if I can find something that competes with the WRDO at $30 a bottle.

EC Toasted Barrel is the worst EC. OF 1910 and 1920 are both fantastic! I like Woodford Double Oaked a lot and I'm not a huge fan of regular Woodford. My bottle smells like a fresh freakin carmel popcorn or hot syrupy pancakes. The palette, however, is very oaky and leathery.
Just found your channel, by the way, I really like it. I've watched a lot of whiskey channels and this is in my top 3.

Thanks a lot, Bo! That means a lot to us. It seems like everybody was really excited for EC Toasted Barrel. Then they tasted it... We still enjoy Woodford Double Oaked from time to time, but it's so incredibly sweet. Have to be in the right mood.
