Rebirth has worse pacing than Remake imo....
It does the same thing Remake does where it slows down main story missions to make you do trivial stuff.
But it also does this thing multiple times, where the main story is like "something happened you gotta get to this location asap" only to then have an NPC ask you to do a sidequest RIGHT NOW immediately after. And it feels like you have to cuz the NPC really needs your help in a timely manner. But by the time you're done that and back onto the main story, all the stakes feel lesser cuz they've been nonchalantly waiting for you for hours.
It also does this awful thing near the end of the game where 3 times it flashes back to the other party members and says "several hours previously", right when you're getting invested in the current party members situation.

The FF7Remake Trilogy just pisses me off cuz it actually has really good gameplay and story.
Buuuuut its pacing is so shitty.
Like way too many times we end up meandering around when we should be rushing to do something important. Even during important story missions, there's a few times they have us meander through it.
Like, you can see how they could've easily told the whole story in 1 maybe 2 games if they didn't add all this random trivial stuff that doesn't add to the story.

I can totally agree with you on this with regards to Remake. I saw your other message about Rebirth having worse pacing then Remake and I feel like I disagree.
I do agree Rebirth's pacing does have some issues, but overall the pacing in Rebirth I feel like gets to the point much quicker than Remake and covers more ground throughout its story. I think Remake feels annoyingly inflated because it is. It's 5 hours of a 30 hour story, told in 30 hours. There are parts of Remake that I think are amazing, but then there are those moments like going through the sewers twice or that damn arm claw mini-game which annoy me. But I feel like Rebirth doesn't have nearly the same amount of bs like that. I feel like Rebirth carries the story at a decent cadence, but I do feel like it rushes towards its conclusion towards the last three chapters. But overall I think once the whole thing is complete (given part 3 is good) we'll look back on this experience more positively. Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts :)
