    A couple of weeks ago I ordered a Tarmac Works Mercedes Benz AMG SLS Coupe Black Series in yellow from a local distributor.
    To my surprise , I ended up unboxing the chase version , which I was rather upset about. Sure , chase versions are very rare , but I was honestly displeased with how it looked. As per usual, the chase variant was bare metal and colored wheels , and I just didn't like it , so I sent it back and got it replaced with a regular version.
    I know , some people might call me crazy for trading in a chase for a regular , but to me it was worthless because I couldn't make any use out of it. For context , I collect 1:64 scale cars and I photograph them , and sometimes I post them on my instagram account.
    Overall , the chase versions are very unappealing to me , and having one in my collection wouldn't make any sense. I'd rather have a realistic 1:64 scale version of a real car , which I could photograph and display on my desk , on my diorama , as if it were a real sized car.

      I think the same about chase cars, I can count the chase cars I like with a single hand and that I kind of want, but not because they're rare, just because I like how they look.
      However, I would have sold the chase for a bit of profit (not abusive overprice) to someone who really collects chase cars, and then order a second one with that money.

      Totally agree the Tarmac chases in particular are just bad to look at. I'm glad the only chase I've ever gotten was an Inno Christmas model and the only difference was it was green instead of red. I'd be pissed if I got a bare metal chase.

      Exactly, I pulled a Tarmac Mercedes-Benz SL500 Purple Koenig Specials Chase Car and was completely disappointed despite that was the first time I pulled a chase/TH of any sort. I wanted the beautiful purple colour design and got the ugly purple wheels on bare metal body + purple roof. Been trying to sell it off but nobody is buying it. 😢

    • @ntcommie
      @ntcommie 6 месяцев назад +1

      Those chases with bare metal bodies are ugly imo. But those with special colors are worth it. But only if we can get fairly from businesses that don't adopt scalper syndrome.

    I agree 100%. I think consumers should get the chase cars as intended. That means in a random purchase. And not have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a chase

    "Collect the stuff that gives you joy, ignore the rest." Well said! Exactly the same mindset i adopted when starting to collect 1:64 diecast.

    Agree 💯 percent. I ignore chases and supers. Waste of time and money. I Stick to basics and premiums and hope the manufactured craze over these “rare” chase pieces dies down.

    The Inno64 Carbon R34 is a prime example. I was able to get my Green Chase Carbon at cost. I did have to buy 3 cars to get it but I did sell the other 2 for what I paid for it. I didn't mark it up $10, $20 or $30 like others. I just wanted back what I paid for them.
    Businesses should not be allowed to open them to find the chases and if they do they should lose their reseller status for the brand.

    • @Godidear
      @Godidear 11 месяцев назад

      Yeah we should report the businesses for doing that....these guys be having pages of chases and what we do buy them smh

    I like the idea of blindbox chases but most brands use clear packaging. I think people are crazy buying $100 Hot Wheels but any hobby is waste of money so whatever makes people happy.

      100% sure they've figured out the location of the chase because supposedly it's in the same spot everytime.

  • @Makotosaber
    @Makotosaber 8 месяцев назад +3

    I never cared about chases or super treasure hunts. What is there to hunt or chase about when the store or reseller already went through them in the first place. I just ignored all of them and buy only the regular cars I like instead.

    Just recently bought the Inno64 R34 chase car from my favorite shop. I asked if they were sure its the chase car as it was sealed unopened. They told me yes and that Inno64/distributor provided them separated from the non-chase cars to be sold. They should be called special editions instead of chase cars.

    I very much enjoy blindbox chases as Aoshima does with their Grachan series as the model you get cant be determined by yourself pre-purchase. Clear packaging however makes sorting these out way too easy. I personally don't buy chases from sellers who specifically have them for sale unless they are marginally over MSRP (yes those sites exist)

    I agree. I have a small eBay business. I had a couple cases of Kaido House 510"s (sedans). When I sold one, I would pull one out of the case and ship it. Two people got chases for retail prices. And yes, I do know how to find the chase in each case. By the way, are the cars in the cases in background 1/18 or 1/12? I love that RX-7. Thanks

    After collecting hot wheels (saying I'm just getting 3 then a while wall and table full now) I noticed the chases and the premiums where hard to get in stores and didn't wanna pay mini gt prices anymore so I switch to buying mini gt inno 64 and such seeing the chase going for that much and just the regular cars going twice the price makes it hard for me to buy 2 and keep one sealed
    Currently thinking what to buy twice to open

    Its greed... no its not fair it should be as intended for the chase and jacking the price up is wrong also when the Skyline chrome Editions of inno64 came out jacked up Model car houston had a fair price of $25 i think i paid $35 ive seen $40 and up and they wasn't on ebay even with poprace most of these cars we know $15 to 30 the most so when i start seeing prices above this it gets me pissed unless its actually that price i dont mind paying intended price these guys are also jacking the price up when it sales fast popular items and dude you should do a video on how they are not showing actual picture of Diecast its either the actual car or cgi and this is deceiving because your not looking at actual product so these guys are getting money off face value and not actual product all these new brand poping up like that time micro loves doing that a couple of these unlicensed brands actually has decent quality but time micro they really need someone who knows how to paint while the image of the product looks good cant say that about the product especially at the price that they go for

    It's people's money, I think they can spend it however they want. If they wanna buy those chases, then they have to pay a high price. Use money to get even with luck, very simple.
    I don't think that the community can't stop these sellers to sell the chases for higher price though. Because there will always be people who will buy those chases to feel unique, and they can afford that. Additionally, they couldn't care less about those who wanna pull out the chases with luck. You can keep complaining but it's gonna be a waste of effort. People with money are always willing to pay and these sellers will find one way or another to pull out chases consistently.

    • @modelcarshouston

      No doubt, but if I could TRY to change the minds of people not always trying to be greedy, that'd be a start.
      Perhaps not the buyer but the seller.
