  • Wat Pho, also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is one of Bangkok's most iconic and historically significant temples. Located in the Phra Nakhon district, it is adjacent to the Grand Palace. Wat Pho is renowned for its massive reclining Buddha statue, which measures 46 meters in length and 15 meters in height. The statue is covered in gold leaf and depicts the Buddha in a state of serene enlightenment as he enters Nirvana.
The temple complex is one of the oldest in Bangkok, dating back to the 16th century, and was extensively renovated by King Rama I in the late 18th century. Wat Pho is also considered the birthplace of traditional Thai massage and medicine, with a massage school operating within its grounds. Visitors can explore various halls, stupas, and courtyards adorned with intricate decorations and sculptures. The temple is a center of both spiritual and cultural significance, attracting tourists and devotees alike.
