I LOVE this book! You can really feel the influence of the secret history (I believe that is the author's direct inspiration), but I really like how there are just enough differences to make the book it's own thing

I loved If We Were Villians, definitely one of my favourite books I've read this year. All your points are fair

I‘m currently reading The Secret History but as a non native englisch speaker I find it really hard to read if i don’t pay attention 100% of the time. If we were Villains on the other hand was so easy to follow and since i‘ve had a huge shakespear phase myself I loved all the foreshadowing throughout their plays! Definitely my current favourite book 💕

Love your new backgrounds and general vibe for your videos- nice changes. And LOVE your sweatshirt!! I'm glad you liked the book- I loved it- it was a 5 star read for me. I was totally sucked into the atmosphere, the tight-knit group of friends, the college- all of it. I even went on a bit of a Shakespeare deep-dive and watched Macbeth, Julius Caesar, and King Lear. I had a great time! I have both this book and The Secret History on my All Time Favs list. I think they belong together under the broad title of 'Academia'. I'd put Ninth House there too (soo good!). I read all 3 this year. They all have different takes on the academic setting and atmosphere, that insulated bookish bubble, the clique-ish group of friends, the fall and winter feel. Ninth House was gritty and fast, Secret History was heavy and dark and kinda sad, and Villains was 'medium' academia when you add up the murder and the twist at the end. I just seem to be in the mood for these types of books right now...maybe I miss school? Not sure. Right now I'm reading the new Celeste Ng- I'm enjoying it. It's a new genre for her and it's ...interesting.

Just a little something, it’s an acting school.. and from someone who studied at WAAPA (Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts) the lessons, classes (movement classes, speech, etc etc) this is spot on. And we do get a degree

I read it last autumn but, as you said, I only remember the feeling it gave me and the main plot point. I agree that some characters aren't well written especially girls, and the writing is...not it (I've read better written fanfictions; not if we were villain ones though, I'm saying in general).
I don't think I liked the whole reason (or at least the main reason) they murdered the character, it is a bit too cheesy in my opinion.
What I liked is the vibes, a few characters, and the ending actually because it made me cry and I don't cry easily when reading.

Would you ever do spoiler vlogs because it can come across a bit too vague

I didn’t love this one. For me, the dialogue was so unrealistic that it became tedious. I did go back and finish it, and liked it more by the end of the story. I listened to it as an audiobook and that may have contributed to the problem. Not a bad book by any stretch, just not a favorite!
