    i LOVE how your bookcase is organized by color! i lost all my (hundreds and hundreds)of cherished and many re-read books in a housefire recently. i just bought my first book, and i plan to have a beautiful bookcase like yours! I still have the book and might give it a try again now that I'm older and don't have to do a group project on it. I had voted to do Romeo and Juliet and the class was lazy and out voted me because they thought it too boring and difficult. 😒

      Coming from someone with a chronic disease it pissed me off. I absolutely hate that book and am pissed Hazel wasn't the one who died in the end. It's so opposite about what she said how the disease doesn't define the person, that's all she does in the book is bitch about her disease. It's annoying that she didn't die and Gus did because he actually was the one with a healthy mindset about it. ( I apologize if I got the names wrong, I read the book so long ago and hated it and I don't care enough about the book to even google the names) that book is just an insult to people with diseases trying not to let them define them.

    1984 - George Orwell

    Sophie’s World - Jostein Gaarder
    Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance - Robert Pirsig
    A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess

    • @3moluvr
      @3moluvr 5 лет назад

      Zaid Rehman to me personally, Ishmael (and the whole series really) is a one of a kind experience. It is kind of transcendental in a way, it talks about essentially earth, human history, the flaws that plague humans as a whole, and the possible attributions we can give to earth and ‘mother culture’. The series definitely isn’t your basic fantasy surface level series, it is very deep and philosophical, and I highly recommend them. :)

    Read them all, so I'm glad you said in your lifetime instead of "before you die" :P
    I would argue that this list could easily be changed to "Top Ten Books to Read Before you Turn 20" because I think this list specifically works really well for older teens to think about the world around them and build that analytical foundation before they enter their twenties.

    Honestly, The Great Gatsby is definitely a book that needs to be read independently. I found it a lot more enjoyable the first two times i read it than when I was being shoved symbolism . The symbolism DOES play a good part in the book, but I liked hearing it after I had a full picture of the story first because a lot goes on, and there are a lot of characters.

    as someone who's 15 yrs older than you I really appreciated the disclaimer you added at the beginning of the video, it's honest. It would be interesting to know what you have read tho, so that we can understand if you let something out on purpose (you didn't like it) or you just haven't read it yet. My personal top 15 (I couldn't pick ten!) would be: Pride and Prejudice (Austen), If this is a man (Levi), De Profundis (Wilde), The Count of Monte Cristo (Dumas), 1984 (Orwell), A Doll's House (Ibsen), Medea (Euripides), Dialogue between Tristano and a Friend (Leopardi, that's a few pages, it's one among the Small Moral Works), A room of your own (Woolf), One Hundred Years of Solitude (Marquez), Memoirs of Hadrian (Yourcenar), Macbeth (Shakespeare), Iliad (Homer), War and Peace (Dostoevskij) Harry Potter series (Rowling).
