Plenty to explore at botallack Duncan.
The crown’s engine houses are so named after queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited the mine and went underground.
The first big building you went into housed a compressor to supply compressed air for the rock drills.
Beside are the round buddles where the ore was washed to separate the metals from the sands.
The zig zag flue is called a labyrinth.
When tin ore was roasted it gave off arsenic fumes, the arsenic soot settled in the labyrinth and was bagged up and sold as a pesticide. Must of been a horrible job!
A great place for a mine walk, full of mining history. Good video👍
