Damn this is the most accurate and sophisticated psychological and philosophical summary on Albion PvP there will ever be. Everything is spot on. Should be a mandatory watch for everyone. The fear of dying/losing should never hold us back from enjoying PvP in Albion.
I've attended these 20k$ corporate trainings for high performance mindset. Like fancy 3 day courses with "top of the world trainers". Then there is this guy, giving a fucking masterclass in 13:37, around albion pvp. Passion > Money always. Thats why i love gaming.
Bro you are the goat that you think you are, You described EXACTLY what my thought processes at every stages of my journey, being scared at first then improving, then with experience knowing that everyone is ''bad'' and its just a matter of focus and day by day improvements. BANGER VIDEO
you just described the actual issues with me, I always knew that there is something very wrong with how I mentally play albion as whole and for years it's always holding me back. great guide I definitely make use of it.
your videos are soo fkng insane, you bring content to the table like no one else, you understand it and teach it in a very smart way that nobody from yt has been doing for a long time, and i consume a lot of that content. Thanks my man.
I stumbled across your channel randomly while on break from albion. I just saw your spear guides and I happen to really love the onehanded spear, but I believed I sucked at it cause I haven't been winning much in mists content. I know I've had a toxic relationship with albion, being egotistic with fights and getting real mad when I lose. Your vids not only made me play albion again, but gave me a positive outlook on how to take the game.
Man your content is just amazing, not only you teach really good stuff for everyone who wants to improve on albion pvp but also teach them in a way most people would know how to use those concepts into any other game, even life. I respect you, I wish I could fight you any time soon.
Great video, solid down to earth advice. Your videos are giving me the same feeling I had when I started listening to Limited Resources to get better at Magic.
This is very helpful. You are one of the only albion content creators that actually explain the game rather than just show gameplay. Thanks for this style of video ❤
Excelente video, recuerdo haber pasado meses en zona amarilla, y mantenerme cerca de las salidas en las nieblas de zona negra. Ahora no me importa morir en las nieblas si tuve una buena pelea
you're such a chad for putting out this life advice (it doesn't just apply to albion) -- thanks for always having surprisingly deep, insightful videos and please keep releasing content!
Clicked on the video expecting advise on how to get better in PVP, wasn't expecting to hear the best life advise anyone has ever given me. Honestly loved the video, the way the information was presented and the way the tone of your voice changes when giving importance to the parts of the video that should stick with the viewer! No need to say anything else, keep up the awesome content!
Bruh with this type of content for Albion this channel will blow up faster than you can imagine, we were missing this, truly appreciate the hard work bro
This is great i recomended you to my friends and they says you are an awesome teacher of pvp and we prefer your videos to be better and enjoy more this game( we speak spanish and view this videos whit the subtitles of youtube)
Wow, sir i just saw your video, it's exactly on point.i hope to learn more about albion pvp as most of gathering guys like me I lack skills & failed to outrun red guys.
Glad you enjoyed it!! I hope that you find more and more ways to enjoy PvP as well! Being skilled is not a prerequisite for fun and I think getting better is by far the best feeling :)
Best guide I have watched in ages, talking about the real life factors too made my decision! Great video! (and i am just 3 minutes in. I will edit it if i make up my mind:D, but i highly doubt it)
Having a back up plan always helps, for example on the spec part of the game, if you invest your silver specing your main build at some point even if you die only with 8.2 and 8.3 you'll still be able to farm t8 pve mobs with t5-t6 build, my case in the mists/abbeys I'm still working being mentally fine with using more than 8.1, I played 800h and I haven't have many ocasions playing 8.2 and 8.3.
Very relatable. It's easier to enjoy 8.1 and have fun with it and in my experience most people find it more profitable to run t8 or 8.1 and not higher.
@@VicZaneGaming I think it also depends on the weapon, for example the case of the high mobility builds like bloodletters that can choose when and who to fight, they get more from the high spec as oposed to my main weapon low mobility 1h curse where is not worth taking more than 8.1 with oc as you can kill 8.2 and 8.3 easily if they don't know what they are doing, and even if they do they have more to loss so they'll do more mistakes than me.
One thing that helped me to win 1v1's is that when i enter the pvp area i decide if i want to pvp or not, then i either go in and fight right away or try to avoid players altogether. Very often i died cause i wasn't sure if i want to fight, or should i try to flee, or maybe fight, or... and im already dead. Be consistent in your decision. And pick gear skills based on that decision, dont do half measures.
It's fun. When I finally got fine with losing 2M per set, it just got a lot easier on my mind getting used to it and actually profitting. I have my own guild where I just use it to store all my silver
great points~ exactly right I've been playing this game casually for over 1yr now, I love corrupted dungeon and 1h spear and still loves to play it although 1h spear is not the top tier build for corrupted. I've made almost 1000 kills so far 99% in corrupted and I am still having the fear going into slayer level and mist (8.0 sets) lol and I'm sure I'm not the only one
From my experience, go play and fight with one specific lower tier load out is a very good step. It unlocks you because you get comfortable with your gear and you start playing with less fear. Although, being ganged by many or really high tier enemies is always frustrating. After a point, not because you lose, but because you can't even learn. They make mistakes - no punishment due to their high def & life and your low dmg. You make the right play - you can't even notice as you are getting demolished regardless. I believe arena or pvp with players of similar tier (maybe hellgates) is the only way to understand the game. But I've seen very few people not trying to fight you without advantages. I was a solo player for years. I never end up being very good and ultimately I stopped playing, even if I still like the game. Maybe I am not the best to leave his opinion here, but hopefully it will be useful to someone.
I did something different in terms of spear build, i have a helion spear with a caitlif shield for extra cc, a royal helmet for another stun, soldier armor, and any plate boots. picking the reflext ability on the w. countering eny hard engages the enemy wants to do and if they keep committing activating soldier armor for a damage boost and increased cc duration. can counter almost any build even up to 100-200 ip higher
I love these sorts of out-of-the-box innovative ideas like what you described. It kind of feels like a sort of CC/melee dps build for group content and interesting for corrupteds. Unfortunately, as you probably have experienced, the lack of mobility of Heron Spear (especially with deflecting spin W) is very evident in the Mists. Still fun>>>efficiency so it's awesome you're playing it!
Yellow zone corrupted dungeons are zero risk pvp. I used that to learn early. Once I had an understanding, it was a smooth transition to any full loot pvp.
@ I waited till I was winning around 50% of my fights to go stalker. I bought 5 sets at a time of 4.1. At the very least I broke even + all the fame and bonuses. If you look at it from the lens of “I’m gambling and these are bets” it takes away any attachment to your gear, and completely eliminates gear fear. Ofc it is addicting ;)
My end goal is to 100/100 the bow tree, but I keep getting frustrated with war bow, normal bow, and longbow in corrupted dungeons, they seem to get hard-countered too easily by fire, very frustrating but gotta keep in mind the End Goal and go on to more Exposure
Good attitude! And I'm quite curious to see what will happen to corrupteds after the next update. I'm guessing there will much more variety since many people will play them, at least for a while.
Thanks, man! If you solo roads, 1h spear is decent but for small scale group fights, unfortunately it's not really viable because your E doesn't offer anything for your team. Spirithunter, for example, is so so much stronger.
my problem is I panic when someone engages off the screen... I could have a killed this DB staff 1400 IP player but I panicked and starting trying to fight forgetting to throw my poison potion until halfway in the fight and also forgetting to eat my food. Combat wise I did very good with 1 missed battleaxe throw which could have one so "skill Issue" but if I could have calmed down I would have been able to land it and remember I have food and potions that need to be used.
This should be required watching. Economy - an idea I've stolen from HEMA is a system I call the 'waster' system, named after cheap practice arms that, when they break, you get a new one. The idea is you have waster sets that are super cheap that you use to farm. If I make more than the waster set costs, I win. Next up is raider gear. This is still cheap, but strong enough for me to stand a chance of winning. Raider sets I take with the intent of seeking conflict, and knowing my odds are at best 50/50. Lastly there's Juggernaut sets. These are sets I use either A) in safe zones like yellow mists or B) If I'm rolling with a group who is going to support me. Ego - Trash talkers are interesting. Their ego comes from tearing you down. These players, should you succeed in killing them or just not playing by their rules, are most likely to ragequit or do something stupid. Ego isn't fully predictive of performance, but it's worth realizing top players will just kill you, because they're good at the game. End goal - PvP in Albion is a way to get something. Either you want someone's stuff or you want to stop someone from doing something. Rat-style PvP exploits this as a matter of course. This should inform our PvP combat builds, as we want certain situations to achieve our win conditions. Exposure - This is why I think new players should rush Mists. Rewards are good, and even yellow mists give helpful PvP experience. Rushing camps will teach you good mount technique and the lack of item loss lets you experiment before chancing black mists or the Outlands or Roads.
Hey Vic! I saw on your other video about hiding the UI but you're still able to see the nametags for any incoming enemies, when I disable the UI, it doesn't show the nameplates of nearby players, is there an option I missed on this?
I haven't come across this issue. There is a separate setting for enabling offscreen nametags (which should obviously always be on) but it should not be connected to recording mode in any way. Are you sure you are using recording mode specifically and not somehow disabling UI altogether?
I find it very hard to succed on the europe server with Spear. Many dual swords players, even switched from mercenary to hunter's hood for that reason. Do you have any recommendations agains melee players that are just rushing in your face?
In general against in-your-face-brawler builds you want to try to space them just enough to be able to hit Qs. Duals are kind of difficult though, I agree. Usually you need to get a decent HP advantage on them before you commit to a brawl. However, if you run cripple, they can't really match your mobility and catch you. Another option that has worked for me sometimes is to deflecting spin against their E since it's easy to react to and does decent damage. If haven't checked out my spear guide yet, there might be something there to help with your question as well - ruclips.net/video/VWY2YapAAds/видео.htmlsi=MtJbmSqZJnv_nsSH .
There is no single best way. There are so many fun ways to play and make profits and it's going to be individual. Find what you enjoy - gathering, refining, crafting, transport, pve, pvp, market speculation to name a few popular choices!
Lmao i have mental problem bc i dont know how rich i am. I have so many in markets buy sell order and ect.(+-50m in total) I dont feel it and use t8 but when i just take all in silv and do fun because of going eu i undestand that i can afford it and it give me calm mind in fights
me when setting up my own creative build. okay, this helmet is for this, the jacket goes super well with my E spell. Then I go to the mist and just mash buttons.
I watch your videos, and this shocked me. So I pay money for a game to escape reality (from some point of view) and I should be mentaly perpared.... ))) maybe I need hire a coach and psychologist then... for a video game? In fact I try Albion right now and thank you for your vids. But I think this is to way grind game. The gap between new players and old to high, I can wear some builds around 100k but this is not for PvP. I think I need spend around 1 year to lvling specs and gather silver. Or simply buy it. Which makes this game pay to win, the same as EvE online which I've dropped because of it. :( huh... Sad. Really sad.
BTW ego it's problem for many games) But if you ever play EvE online ego, and economy it's not an issue. Issue is the gap. I wanna PvP already, I can afford 900-1000 IP. But Winning PvP... I guess I am unlucky and only meta builds (I so fkin tired in games that stupid devs create meta's, because can;t in math and balance), only meta, only 7-8 tier. I can find ok PvP only in yellow zones mists and even kill someone But this is don't give me kill in the book.
I'm glad you like the videos! Didn't mean to shock you :) But Albion can certainly be competitive and has very strong mental components! You don't need a coach or psychologist just for this but it's true that the solo PvP side of the game is not very casual-friendly. Getting enough specs and silver to meaningfully compete is not difficult and will not take that long but fact remains that there is no matchmaking system in Albion which means that you will repeatedly end up fighting against players with thousands of hours more of experience so it's a difficult learning curve. Hope you find ways to enjoy it without sadness :)))
Hard if the next death is sending you back to 4 flat sets. But economy is W. I just started doing economy this month and my profit after premium costs is enough for me to afford 2-3 t7 sets to play each day.
Damn this is the most accurate and sophisticated psychological and philosophical summary on Albion PvP there will ever be. Everything is spot on. Should be a mandatory watch for everyone. The fear of dying/losing should never hold us back from enjoying PvP in Albion.

You must really enjoy albion, great advice brother

From my experience, go play and fight with one specific lower tier load out is a very good step. It unlocks you because you get comfortable with your gear and you start playing with less fear. Although, being ganged by many or really high tier enemies is always frustrating. After a point, not because you lose, but because you can't even learn. They make mistakes - no punishment due to their high def & life and your low dmg. You make the right play - you can't even notice as you are getting demolished regardless. Yeah casual 8.4 beating up on t6 players vibe. Just a casual 700-800 ip advantage no biggie
Great video as usual. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!! Absolutely will keep it up!
Yea dude i always compare albion to poker like u did in the video. Stay in your bankroll and u can play comfortable ❤
Absolutely! And so many other concepts also apply directly like variance and not being results-oriented!
you should go into company coaching or player coaching in games where you can earn money :)

Yellow zone corrupted dungeons are zero risk pvp. I used that to learn early. Once I had an understanding, it was a smooth transition to any full loot pvp.

Thanks, man! If you solo roads, 1h spear is decent but for small scale group fights, unfortunately it's not really viable because your E doesn't offer anything for your team. Spirithunter, for example, is so so much stronger.

3:15 you ment gear fear am i right?
Yeah. It's the same concept that is often referred to as 'gear fear'.
@@VicZaneGaming But very good video man. I died in a very stupid way in mists and your video poped after it randomly and calmed me down a lot 😀
You do know that gear do affect gameplay
Don't know how you don't have a lot of subscribers
Everything in due time! I'm just getting started. Thanks for the awesome vibes!
@@VicZaneGaming you'll surely get better subs with the kind of content you make. Please don't change as you progress
I paid some one 2k to tell me this it's like a therapy session
me when setting up my own creative build. okay, this helmet is for this, the jacket goes super well with my E spell. Then I go to the mist and just mash buttons.
Hey if you remember to mash every single button it's already not terrible :))
No not a mental game it's mobility game you only need is to get three dash and you can win or you can escape in 1 v1 situation
I feel your frustration for sure. But I think there is a secret weapon that sometimes works against mobility builds - baiting them in.
Its not if u get killed by group gankers with higher ip
me thinking im better than everyone, go fight every enemy i see, go to mist, regear more than 10x in 2 hours 😂
To whom it may concern:
High spec and low gear with 8 of 10 deaths can still be profitable
gems as always, lost an easy fight because I panicked
came here to get good at a kids game , and got therapy.
2-in-1 :)
"that other person that knows that you suck 😅lol
scared money : Or just dont give a fudge would solve the issue ...
Hard if the next death is sending you back to 4 flat sets. But economy is W. I just started doing economy this month and my profit after premium costs is enough for me to afford 2-3 t7 sets to play each day.
