I think the fun factor is definitely there but it is my understanding that the mechanical movement is non repairable. A bit pricey for a disposable watch but if one is okay with that, then go ahead and enjoy. I am always interested in your critiques. Well done 🥃
Thanks for taking time out to do the vid Andrei...much appreciated, now in my opinion, it's quirky enough to warrant a higher price and it does look indeed funky.,..despite some of the drawbacks such as plastic? and unserviceable....but I did hear that it's possible to switch out the movement in it's entirety once it's done.....would I buy it......Yes.
the moonswatch is more accurate than the mechanical moonwatch omega because it is quartz. anyone saying otherwise don't know what they are talking about
200-300 that should had been the correct price, it's true this one brings a bit more compared to the moonswatch, a travel pouch and an automatic movement.
Well, there isn't any blancpain parts for sure other than its design and the name on the dial LOL Swatch sure knows how to make full use of brands under their group. Wonder which other brand will be the one to carry the ' X Swatch' printing on a Swatch after blancpain
I much prefer this one, the straps look great and most of the colourways look really good. I am glad to hear your view on it, but please can you rethink the background music, I almost turned off early as it was driving me nuts.
It's true, the Blancpain x Swatch Fifty Fathoms is much better than the MoonSwatch. Better quality, water resistant, automatic, more expensive, but worth it. As a result, it's a watch you want in your collection, like the MoonSwatch.
Fantastic video, thank you! Thanks also for your uplifting, but still realistic, take on the new collab. Personally, I think this is a definite step up from the MoonSwatch in almost every aspect. And that's from someone who is very much an Omega fan, haha. I don't think this particular watch is one for me, but I do like that they're introducing some fun in what is too often an overly serious business. The colours are all nice and vibrant, and the themes around the different oceans is a nice touch. To be fair, I've seen some vintage Swatch watches being sold for a lot of money among collectors, and even approaching the retail cost of the SwatchpaiN for the rare references. And those watches were utterly terrible compared to this...
It's for people to whom £340 is very little money (maybe like £34 or even £3.40 for normal people) and this is just a fun thing. In that case I would try to buy the entire collection because they look fun.
I think there is a market for watches with automatic movements inside a plastic case. If the water resistance is there then it's fine. Casio plastic watches are great and can live forever, so why not a mechanical movement inside? 400 bucks on the other hand - bit too much really. Price them in the middle of G-shocks and Seiko 5 series and it's a sweet spot imho. I'd get an automatic swiss made plastic watch no bother.
@@BraveBeaters Not the original one, which this is supposed to be an homage to. Unless, of course, Swatch is now making plastic homages to random models.
@@mountainhobothis model (Pacific Ocean) and together with the other two (Atlantic and Indian Ocean) are exactly mimic the original Fifty Fathoms, which has the date and including the Blancpain engraving on the side of the case (which is Swatch in this watch). The poles version (Artic and Antarctic Ocean) are no date paying homage to the vintage Blancpain No-Rad and Mil-Spec.
I would never spend this kind of money on a plastic casing. No matter what brand is stamped on it. I like my automatic watches to be able to last a lifetime at least, these collab trend watches are not my thing. Solid pass.
The Swatch folks erased my trust in them and all their brands with the despicable MoonSwatch. To make the quality as poor as they did for the price can only be a social experiment or a cynical gesture of contempt for their customers. This is a sad thing since I've been an Omega fan for decades, as were my father and grandfather. I don't care what they do going forward, and that's that, unless we get a genuine apology. Not holding my breath, of course.
I understand all the criticisms about price and plastic and what not. I still like it.

thank you very much! :)
Congratulations 🎉😊
In Canadian dollars we’re almost at 600.00 bucks. 😢 I’m sorry too much for me. Brilliant video as always.
Yes, it's around 550 CAD! pricey, a lot of relevant watches can be found for that amount. Thank you :)

Hi, sadly I have no info on this topic. But I am not sure it is serviceable.
@@BraveBeaters...thanks for the reply and my edited answer to your question
Sapphire caseback and mineral crystal + insert were a shocking revelation.

It is completely a Swatch watch. You can say it is a collaboration, but where is any part of a Blancpain? I would go for $200, not any more.
200-300 that should had been the correct price, it's true this one brings a bit more compared to the moonswatch, a travel pouch and an automatic movement.
@BraveBeaters A sealed automatic movement that cannot be serviced.

@@jamesrobert4106why service it if you can just replace the movement?

It cam become annoying at some point, yes
It is a colorful printed dial. It does look nice, but it is a plastic watch, with plastic movement parts.
Any product is worth as much as people are willing to pay for it. 👍
And yet it’s still an overpriced plastic disposable ugly watch
Great video!!🎉
Thank you Peter! :)
Perfect combination with this polo shirt, mate.
But you will get the same effect with $15 Casio

a thoughtful review thanks, however can we have a vote on the 'elevator musak'? :@(
Was it that bad?

Very good assessment! And I agree, price wise, it feels a bit too expensive compared to the gems you can find for that range.
well if it breaks you can trash it. It's not servicable. Lets not forget about that
They couldn't even be bothered to remove the date to maintain the visual pretense.
The actual bp ff has the same date positioning as far as I remember.

@@watchnerds Google "An Exceptional Bakelite 1953 Blancpain Fifty Fathoms", and show me the date on it.
I love the channel but why put this crap on it. My first watch was a seiko 5 . 30 years ago cheep but a real watch don't promote this crap
I think yellow is my favourite but I'm irked it's the one colour where the case and dial don't match colours
It's a good looking piece of plastic but as you've said there are better value alternatives to be had at the price.
Absolutely not! There are many good watches inspired by the fifty from all brands.
I believe that this was your hardest video to make.
Actually it was fast and fun 🤣
@@BraveBeaters Yeah, I'm kidding... great video as always.
I would spend a 100 US not a dime more 🤷🏻♂️ so it’s a no for me , felt the same on the plastic speedy. Excellent video as usual 👍 .
Nah,, the Casio Duro is better, and that, is no way as good, as a Citizen Promaster diver,,
,,, just my 2 cents,,
Agree. Better priced and more durable

Hey, it has not 20mm lug width. It’s 22mm.
Rich people think they are so cheap it's fun, doesn't stop them being a crap waste of money though
Can buy a decent Certina or Glycine combat sub with that money
For the price, you get a swiss automatic movement LOL
No mether what it is beautifull.
Good looking watch but I will pass.
First :)
Cheers! :D
