So many nice purples. There is also Diamine Lilac Satin, Diamine Purple Dreams, Monteverde Purple Reign and DeAtramentis Alexander Purple Rain to name a few more. And yes, they are all different. Cant wait to get my hands on some of that Diamine Memory Lane.
Thank you so much for this. I didn’t know it was DVAM or that the color purple was for this cause. I really enjoyed watching you swatch these. It’s like a calming session. 😊🤗😘😘❤️🙏
DVAM is such an important awareness event. Not to take away from breast cancer awareness AT ALL, but there’s a lot of misinformation about intimate partner violence that creates a lot of unintended ignorance. Working at a shelter has opened my eyes to my own privilege and naïveté.
What a great videos and very worthwhile cause to bring awareness to! Thank you for that💜 I have a few purple inks I can share too! I know the 19th has passed but it’s an ongoing cause to bring awareness to just like so many others any time of the year. I also ended up getting the Tyrian purple shade too in the that small bottle size after trying a sample! It’s such a great legible and beautiful color ink! One I really want to try is the fwp queen allium!
i dont know the way its written, but ume can mean plum, and ume murasaki meaning plum purple would be a pretty good way to describe that ink! i love this idea of ink for awareness of important issues, swatch videos will always get a watch from me, theres something so lovely about them
Yes, you're right, murasaki means purple. Ume is a salted pickled plum that's reddish, brownish in color. You often find ume plums in the middle of a musubi (rice ball) to add that hint of saltiness to an otherwise plain ball of rice. 🍙
Taccia Umemurasaki is one of my favorite inks! It does look brown when it pools, but I find with a sliiiightly drier flow the purple stands out more. The fact that this color was inspired by Utamaro's portrait "Okita of the Naniwaya Teahouse" makes the brown make a little more sense to me - a lot of ukiyo-e art had a warmish tone to it
@@KarynaLovesToPlanI think Taccia has a whole line of ukiyo-e inspired inks! It's so tempting to get them in the 40mL size - each box has the inspiring piece of art printed on it! It's a super pretty display piece to have 🤩
I love how many purples you have and the fact that we only have a few that are the same! I think I need to get that taccia ume murasaki! Thanks again for supporting DVAM!
So lovely that you did this to bring awareness to a worthwhile cause 💜I would love to participate in the hashtag but afraid by the time I get the chance to do the video Thursday will be well and truly over. You are right though, purple has so many different variations, some blue, some red, some grey...it is an interesting colour to swatch. Have a lovely day/evening Karyna :)

Great vid. They look so nice together. Thank you for participating in Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
I was so honoured to be asked!

When you put it that way, it definitely looks like plum purple. And I agree - I love things like this for awareness!
I think...I will purchase samples of all of these. 🥲

Thanks for the info - I love hearing the history behind ink names and inspirations!

Doesn't have to be Purple Thursday - join in whenever!!
@@KarynaLovesToPlan thanks Karyna 😊
Some of the Japanese inks are treated with a biocide to prevent mold -- that could be what you're smelling? Kind of chemical-y?
Yes it does smell a bit chemical-y. Thank you!
Ooooh! I’d wondered about that. Now I need to see if the ones that smell like that are Japanese inks!
Do you have a link to the pen you're using?
They are RiverCityPenCompany on Instagram and here is their website www.rivercitypencompany.com/
For me, the most beautiful from the presented inks is the Pilot Iroshizuku murasaki-shikibu… by far!
I do love Pilot Iroshizuku inks!
murasaki does mean purple in Japanese :)
