The sound is so much better! Keep up the good work! Love to see you Heidi! Quit hiding!
Beautiful mod on the vise grips. Wire edges can be a real beeotch to form by hand, but very doable with practice. I use a rounded edge chisel to finish once I roll the metal over the wire. Your modified tool is a better idea.
Very good job!!! YOU ARE LEARNING!!!!!😂😂👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏. Congrats master!!!!!
Thanks for the great info....I gotta take on a very similar repair on my squarebody
Darn good video brother and I really like it when you show your hand made tools....thanks for sharing your skills...keep the metal shaping tips going. Have a great day
3:59 best helpful tools👍

Will definitely use that technic when fixing rust
Aloha brother! Great tip there. I'll for sure use that method for some hatches on the Land Rover tub. 👌
Thats a cool tip on the wire edge. now do a tip for a Outlaw Edge
never get sick of watching how you do stuff, walking encyclopedia!
Old school technique!!!! Awesome tip sir!!!
That's a great tip buddy, thanks for sharing. Sorry I missed your live stream last night I was watching hockey game and had my phone turned off

Pretty damn cool brother I glad I seen this video all I ever did was folded them over and Flattened it now I'll do it with some class lol 😆 thanks Gene Gorringe Mi 👍✌️

Awesome tip man ,, as a guy who mostly uses hand tools I appreciate this one!!
Excellent tips and a worthy example. Well done and thanks a million for this.
Great video.
Great video. and great info, thanks.
Very good information. The lesson helps newbies reskinning doors unless they want to learn what over hammered flat edges are about.
That's a sweet trick
Love your videos and your shop, im watching from the uk. I have a new shop ive set up and its hard starting out with only basic things, takes me a bit longer but im all about quality over quantity, il get there. Keep up the awesome work my man!
Looks good
Nice vid................... 👍
This is good stuff my friend. I’ve hemmed a lot of doors but never with with the wire. I can see how much more stiffness you can achieve with the wire. Nice detail for us. Thanks!!
Ka fuckin boom 💥 awesome brother and big love to you guys
I was ready to come over and slap you silly for using that panel hammer in the forming tool 🤔🤣🤣
Nice tip and like you stated you doing things with simple or made tools is great for us guys on a budget or us at home guys thank you
Arco, great tips, now how do you keep rust from forming within the wire void? Thank you
Thats a great question. But alot of guys use rust inhibitors on the panels before forming the wire edge 👍
Excellent idea sure can be used in other applications like trays and boxes and the like...great tip👌👌👌
Nice , I love that you build with what you have. That’s the same thing I do too. If you don’t have a tool make one
Great stuff I got a thick leather cover for my anvil for this type work so it dont scratch up the panel
Thats such a cool idea! Im totally gonna steal that one bro 👍
@@OutlawEdge yep heavy saddle leather u can buy it on Amazon and other places saves a lot of sanding later
last, lol...... I always like these how to videos... but did I see you murdered a pair of locking pliers lol
This is cool. Using what you can afford. Do you have a video on making a homemade plannishing hammer ?
No but i have lots of modifications that i do on my cheap planishing hammer
👍
What gauge sheet metal is that? Also thank you Heidi for the correct terminology “glancing blows” if it wasn’t for you I’d have no clue what the F is going on here! 😬👍🏻
Hahahaha!!!! 😆👍 20 gauge sheet metal brother
I'm in the process of doing this to the door frames on my project. However, most of the surfaces are curved and it is becoming a bit frustrating because I can't seem to keep the curved surfaces from going straight. How is that accomplished? Could I convince you to do a video on that? Thank You....love your channel
I will be doing the curves on my doors soon. Maybe I will do a video. Thanks
Maybe this is a dumb question but considering the size of a door or anything bigger than your test piece in this video, I guess you'd just do the same stuff except on one of your big tables instead of an anvil? Or do they make big shop tools for doing your creases like that on the big sheets?
Most likely I will use my large table but i have a couple big pieces of flat plate steel that is three inches thick from an old drillpress. But really if your thinking outside the box u will find a shape or something that will help with building those pieces 👍
How do you add a wire edge to a door or trunk lid that has a curve to it.
I will do a video on that soon 👍
I wanted to ask you about something my son want fender skirts for his 50 deluxe I can make them no problem but the car has a fender lip that needs to be removed for the skirt to look right should i try to hammer and dolley it out and heat shrink till its smooth or just cut it out and make a smooth repair panel
Hey brother I will just make a 1” x 1” flange all the way around and put it in the swing for a stretcher to get the shape you want so you can go around the fender skirt. Then build a buck so that you can weld that into the wheel well. Hope that makes sense 👍
Yes I understand that but on the car quater planel there is a lip that sticks out 3/8 to 1/2" it needs to flat for skirt to look right should i try to body work that lip flat and heat shrink it or just cut lip off and and build new flat edge for quarter panel
Could u send me couple pics to my email? arcohorton53@gmail.com
@@OutlawEdge yeah but not till the weekend im working in wy this week
How is that H.F. throttles shear working out?
Its my most used tool in the shop now. Invaluable!!! 👍👍👍
@@OutlawEdge Time for me to get one. I'm rapidly losing my "Tinner's Grip" making hand snips harder to use.

Is that 20 gauge cold rolled ?
Yes just regular 20 gauge cold rolled sheet metal 👍😎 ARCO
