I've got the theme/chris' solo transcriptions if anybody is interested :) (My transcription from when the album was just released and I was a yung pup studying music)
Sorry guys, I thought i had lost it. Managed to dig it out from my old Laptop. Might have some flaws: www.dropbox.com/sh/1due89yvx84x43d/AADzgxDfaAoj2MHj9T8t1ZFla?dl=0
All of The CPU's records are a must buy for the open-eared Modern Jazz fan. This track sounds influenced by Steve Coleman's M-BASE, as well as Greg Osby/Gary Thomas' ethos IMHO, which in turn has a bit of Miles Davis' 'On the Corner' vibe in it.
Until I discovered this album I was disapointed that Wayne Krantz no longer played in this quartet. Adam is actually amazing though. As if Chris would pick anyone who wasn't.
This is a true mind blowing track, the theme is awesome, Adam Rogers (guitarist) has tasty country influenced phrases (and much much much much much more), the drummer is really tight and good. Can't resist to bounce my head at 4:03 when Chris Potter goes in for the improv. This is good music : ) Thanks for sharing!
This piece is what I would imagine insomnia to be like. I never had insomnia but does anyone kind of imagine that this is possibly what Insomnia is like in musical form? I know Josh Redman has a piece called insomaniac or something but I can't find it. Anyway, what does this make you think about? And if you can find anything that is within the music, like rhythm or certain scales or anything that maybe could be related in any way to your own interpretation or 'feel' of the music, please share.
Can someone help me out here, this 1:49 recurring line, where is it from originally, I'm stuck, it seems to be from some big fusion tune, but I can't remember right now.

Rumples was written by Adam Rogers specifically.
@@Jordarr8994 yes it was written by Adam!!
The 80/20 Drummer brought me here, then took me to the inimitable Nate Smith. Then I came back to stay for the full song. I'm in love.
I love Nate Smith, have you heard the fearless flyers ?
The bass on the fender rhodes is in 'nirvana' state. Holy shit
não conhecia, até Bruno Valverde apresentar
Chris Potter (t sax), Adam Rogers (g), Craig Taborn (Rhodes) and Nate Smith (d) in 2009.

Thes Skep Please post videos, dude!
Holy shit, did someone just compare Chris potter to panzerballet? Shame. Chris potter:everybody.
The drummer has a great name
I give this a 80 outta 20.
I'm hearing the John Scofield influences in Adam Rogers from his early days here... what a versatile guitarist
4:03
Holy s***!! So badass!! LOVE this melody - I love practicing these kinds of melodies. MORE PLEASE!!
almost fucking got this on guitar, it's hard work.
STILL FUNKY!!!! Used to run this record in the ground!!!
Inspired from Mike Stern/Michael Brecker's "Chromozone"?
Newsflash: Mike Stern has just retained the same attorney who successfully represented the Marvin Gaye Estate...

All that being said, this track still manages to display its own personality, despite the 'Free-Funk' influence.
just left hand on the Fender Rhodes
Until I discovered this album I was disapointed that Wayne Krantz no longer played in this quartet. Adam is actually amazing though. As if Chris would pick anyone who wasn't.
Honestly one of my favorite parts of this piece is the sound of the Fender Rhodes and bass together. That crunch sounds so tight!!
There's no bass in this; that's craig taborn playing keyboard bass-on the whole album! Killing, yes?😎✌🏾
The fender Rhodes IS the bass in this. There is only 4 people playing.
C and P are always good initials for a sax player...

yeah I am gonna have to rethink drumming
Craig Taiborn is a BEAST!
I grew up listening to this song!
sounds similar to jazz crimes
Is it not left hand bass on the Fender Rhodes?
such tight drums
Remember learning this song back in music school! Took me 3 to 4 months to learn the melody properly! This thing is a beast!
Also, there is 1 dislike, why don't you like this? I am honestly not bothered but why don't you like it? I'm just really interested.
I'll give that a tumbes up. It doesn't matter what they play, they just kill it....
Damn... Wow.
