    That was absolutely INSANE!!!
I can't believe I did it!!! I had the TOLAC (16hours) I have been praying, for that ended in a VBAC at 1151am this morning July 3, 2020! (pushed for 2 hours) 😭 Crying tears of happiness!! There were SO many instances that I wanted to just “give up!”... I never said it out loud! but things got so intense at times that it was very overwhelming!
I was trying to figure out if I was in active labor at home from 745pm-11pm, contractions with cramps got to 5-6minutes apart consistently... to the point where I couldn’t stand, sit, walk or lay through them!! I then called the midwife, didn’t get a call back in 30min so we said screw it & got in the car anyway to go to the hospital!! Called the midwife back again, as we were on our way she called back, she basically said at 5-6min I could stay home and come in when they are closer to 3min apart!! & said unless you want pain medication I don’t have to come in yet. The thought of going back home made me want to rip my hair out!!
By the time I got to the hospital I made Joe get a wheelchair Bc I was scared I would collapse on the way in!! When the midwife checked me I was 4cm dilated and within the hour contractions were 3-4 min apart!!! And so intense!!!
I got the epidural as soon as they officially admitted me!!! After they inserted the foley they said I was SUPER dehydrated!! (And that’s why my labor was so insane) They gave me 2.5liters of IV fluids. After getting the epidural I was able to chill out, it’s just AMAZING that I couldn’t feel any contractions considering how intense &painful they were.
By 0520am- I was 8cm & the midwife broke my water!, By 0915am I was 10cm and fully effaced. By that time I also had a random fever that progressed to 101.0, & I felt it!! I had the fever eyes and a headache on the front of my head, hot with the shakes, they gave me 2 IV antibiotics.
By 1000am we started pushing!! When her head got really low I was feeling it all again, they lowered my epidural so I could feel the sensation to push, that was horrible. I felt everything.
Pushed for 2hours they said I did really well.... she was stuck & “almost out” for way longer than normal...I had a “strong perineum” 🙄.. ended with a 2nd degree tear, and hemorrhaged, oh and I’m a screamer... like bad hahaha!!! (So embarrassing!!!!) .
And baby girls HR was spiking/worries Bc I had a temp the neonatal Dr had to assess her soon after she came out … Then the placenta was stuck/attached to my uterine wall...almost had to have surgery if she didn’t end up getting go it out
    Baby girl is Coombs Positive...
And joe who watched the entire thing also acted as my right leg stirrup 😂😂🙈
    “Oh what a night”
But long story short… Mom & Baby are doing great💕

By far the realest birth vlog I’ve seen. Literally cried and got so emotional. I’m planning on having a VBac and just watching this made me want to do it even more (although I’m a bit terrified too 😅) I loved how the staff was supportive supportive and encouraging. I think that’s vital during labor & delivery. Oh and I’m definitely a whimp cause I got an epidural with my first born and plan on getting it again this time around. Why go through the pain when we have the medication to alleviate the pain? Lol I laughed when you said “I squeezed the shit out of her” 😂 it was a nice comic relief. Overall, this birth vlog was just beautiful. Congrats 🎊🎉

  • @Olsonlife

I don’t know how you could just sit there through a contraction. It’s so much easier if you’re moving through the contractions not only does it help with the pain but it helps the process go faster. I’m constantly walking and swing when I’m in lever all the way up until I’m squatting down to push out the baby.

I’m expecting my third daughter mid September and I’ve been following your journey because you are so incredibly relatable and honest. I’m crying over my coffee as I kept cheering you on. From the “f-bombs” to the panic at the end while pushing, I totally relate. My first labor was rough and required an epidural due to complications and the second was a far cry from that. It was a natural birth that was quick and intense. I remember so many of the same doubts going through my head as I pushed, but I didn’t have to as long as you. You deserve huge props for pushing through those fears when it was such a long time pushing. Good job, mama. ...I’m going to wash my face and recover from this emotional rollercoaster. #AllTheHormones

Amazing job, Heather! I felt like I was watching myself. During my pregnancy I planned for a natural, no pain med birth - we even went to Hypnobirthing classes! However that all changed the minute I went into real labor. I uttered the same words you did "I don't know what I WAS THINKING" I needed pain medication the MINUTE I arrived at the hospital, the contractions were super intense!! After my epidural I also felt amazing, I was able to rest and get excited about pushing.
I gave birth at the hospital I work at, and found out rather quickly once the pushing got real that I too was a screamer..I kept apologizing, fearing I would be always remembered as THE SCREAMER...Rest assured I'm not alone in this, and my birthing team kept reminding me to do what I needed to do (they probably see this with every other birth..)
I'm so happy you were able to experience both birthing scenarios. Bringing a life into this world is a magical life altering experience. Willow couldn't have chosen a better family to be part of. Congratulations!!!

Maybe it’s me naive as a first time mom but I’ll do whatever is helpful at the time and feels right. I think it’s beautiful to go with the flow and let the experience guide us! There is no wrong way to have a baby but I am sorry you had so much pain for the longest time there. She was a chunky babes and so cute! Your daughter is beautiful and so was your vlog. @@ayeshazeeshan8635 I wish I could tell you how natural birth feels I’m honestly so disappointed how everything went. I walk into the hospital with contractions I was 3 cm my doctor said they were going to induce me on the phone before getting there. Well when I got there they were getting everything ready to start then this rude b**ch ass doctor that I’ve never seen before in my life she goes and tells me that I’m getting a c section or getting sent Home at this point I’m in so much pain and crying. I told them I did not want a c section it got to the point where they didn’t wanna help me have a natural labor so she comes in and screams at me that the surgery room was ready for me.they made me sign the papers I felt like I had no choice. When I’m in pain I shut down amd because of the pandemic my mother wasn’t there to defend me 😞I ended up with another c section. I will be marked and heart broken for the rest of my life knowing I could never experience that beautiful moment 😢☹️ my advice is DO NOT let them do a c section unless your life or the baby’s life is in danger get hard on them all these doctors want is to cut you open to get more money out of it. They made my scar bigger. And marked me for life 😣😢 I hope you get your vbac good luck with everything. 🥲💙💖 and congratulations 🎉

So beautiful! Very real and raw. Thanks for sharing! I was pushing for 3.5 hours with my daughter (born just a few weeks after Willow!) and I also was getting SO frustrated with everyone saying “you’re so close” haha when it was hours of that! But I was also super afraid of tearing and “pooping the table” with my husband watching everything haha so I held back too much. Once I let that go I was able to do those final pushes to get her out. This brought back all the memories! I’m due with my second next month
