  • Failed to mention that the trap door spring loaded latch release button was machined slightly different between my old Colt's and the new Fulton Armory. Fulton Armory describes their metal door as USGI.

    Another GREAT video Peter. It got me inspired to assemble my complete Colt Buttstock kit I have in storage and no rattle with the spacer. All Colt parts.

      Thanks! I haven't checked my Colts for spacer rattle but I'm thinking there won't be. Don't know why I didn't think to check when I had them out for the video! Duh! Next time around I'll check!

    You did a good job installing the winter trigger guard.
    Much cleaner than pounding the roll pin in with a tack hammer.

    P.E. QC Works, nice job. You make Fulton Armory and others shine. A lot of mold line buttstocks from others on the market as well. Would like to see a video from you shooting those 4 comparing groups at 100 yards. Thanks for sharing your ARs and knowledge.

      Thanks Allen! There will definitely be some comparison shooting between my old original Colt HBAR Sporter and the new HBAR clone. Might roll out all the 20" AR's like you suggested! It seems that very little in the marketplace is as it was especially with the legacy stuff! Not made the same, poor quality! Trying my best to pick out decent stuff but it is challenging!

      Criterion 20" HBAR, 1:8 twist Wylde chamber, chrome lined. It's still up in Utah at Trajectory Arms. Been there three weeks now! The girl said they started on it late last week. How long does it take to install an A2 FSB? They're making me nervous!

    • @peteregger7928
      @peteregger7928  10 месяцев назад +2

      They don't answer the phone either! When you call they have left a voice message and I'm paraphrasing here but it's basically we're to busy to answer the phone. I don't have the fixtures to do it right for the FSB slots and taper pin alignment. I think also to do it very precise you need a vertical mill with a DRO (digital read out) to index off the barrel and referencing the barrel extension pin and gas port hole for the drilling and cuts. If I was younger it might have been worth it to invest in the equipment and hang out my own shingle! @@Allenmar73

      Blade thickness on mine was a snug fit at .060" and then as wide as you can go. The one I used came in at about .350" wide which wasn't ideal but caused no damage. About .450" wide would have been about perfect but I don't think you could go much wider than that with mine! Quite a few Las Vegas locals here! Thanks for watching!

    Comparing quality made in US 1990's A2 stocks to today's US isn't fair. US today is spiraling down to 3rd world nation, in decline that era is gone.

      Hey IC2! AD2 for my first 5 years then became an AT for the last 16 years plus and retired as an ATC(AW). The butt stock door is pinned in. Sounds like your's will need some disassembly and reassembly. Once you get the butt plate off the butt stock you should be able to see what might be missing to hold the door on. Most people keep a pieced together cleaning kit in the butt stock. You most likely will not stop with one AR! Lol!
