    Just a quick heads up. This isn't a review of the game as far as story, content etc. I'ts almost entirely focused around the PC port performance, visual fidelity and settings.

    Senua: ''Perfect parry''
    Voices: ''Git gud''
    Man this thing looks absolutely spotless and I love how well it retains detail during fast movements in combat, you can see everything crystal clear, it's ridiculous. Also the preview feature in the settings is something I always wanted, there's been several times I've taken separate screenshots to compare visual quality out of curiosity in the past when playing with settings.
    This game is gonna age really well, specially if the story (I understand gameplay isn't the focus here) is as good as the visual quality. Thanks a ton for checking this out! Won't be able to play it till the weekend and I was so curious to see if it lived up to the teasers we saw. Also if it wasn't for the notification I got from your channel I wouldn't even know it was out lol, common Microsoft make some noise ...

      The game seems to be getting dunked on by some legitimate critiques but also console fanboys. I don't get it how some people behave online its like depending on the ties a game has to a console manufacturer some people feel obligated, almost like it's their duty to either hate or praise it.
      There's a whole industry of content creation focused around console brand loyalty, podcasts all kinds of stuff where people essentially praise sale numbers, rumors etc. TF is wrong with people lol.
      I grew up with consoles and PC, for example I like Nintendo games, they are like comfort food to me but I never had any hate or bias for Sony or Xbox. Loved Metal Gear Solid back in the day and when OG Xbox launched Splinter Cell and Ninja Gaiden blew my mind. These days some people act like its illegal to maybe enjoy both Xbox and Sony games.
      Bit of a rant but I kinda find the console wars funny and how stupid and pointless it all is to partake unironically.

    • @constantinesoldatos
      @constantinesoldatos 2 месяца назад

      @@TerraWare I totally agree, I grew up the same way and have extremely fond memories from Nintendo , PS and Xbox consoles.
      I'm afraid this will never change especially when companies feed this type of braindead behavior with exclusives. It's bad for the market and the developers since it results in less sales.
      Hopefully one day the majority will wake tf up and start seeing gaming for what it is, FUN. No matter what console it's on ffs. End of the day they're just different shapes boxes that do the same thing

      @@constantinesoldatos Yeah they all play the same games with the exception of a few and PS5 and Xbox Series are PC's with proprietary operating systems.
      It's not like back in the day where consoles were vastly different in architectures and even the same game didnt run or look the same on every console

    Keep up the good work!
    I genuinely admire of how efficient UE5 games are in terms of VRAM usage. Hellblade 2 uses less VRAM than Ghost of Tsushima, yet the texture quality in this game is so much better and geometry level is much higher as well, plus, it probably uses software RT (reflections, shadows, lighting). And for all this it needs less than 8GB at native 4K!

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes its something I have pointed out multiple times about vram and UE5. It's very efficient.

    • @tj3495
      @tj3495 2 месяца назад

      UE5 seems to be more cpu intensive and less vram heavy, i think its because instead of loading assets into the vram it streams them in as you go.. that's my theory anyways!
      I think its the way to go for the future, will more fully utilize a systems cpu & gpu power overall. (Not to mention software raytracing, im sure that stresses the cpu as well)

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  2 месяца назад

      @@tj3495 Yeah although I dont think the game's really CPU intensive. The UE5 games have actually been quite good in that regard and also vram. UE5 games dont need much vram vs some of the Nixxes games for ex.

    for anyone that wants to optimise, i have a few videos showing my optimised settings if anyone wants to check them out. But the heavy hitters are volumetrics and Reflections. Turning down volumetrics to medium has barely a noticeable difference in visuals but you'll gain over 10fps, reflections is about the same in performance increase but the visuals take a more notable hit. Global illumination on medium can give a small boost with basically no visual differences. I'd also turn down post processing down to low, the depth of field and other effects are just too much imo. better on low IMO

    DLSS blurres some of that huge amount of detail. When i am watching UE5 in native resolution i am drowning in detail but soon as dlss, fsr ... is on i dont get that feeling any more and i start to notice other things that remind me its a game. It still looks great but there is obvious difference on overall look of the game.

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  2 месяца назад +2

      It does a little. I noticed it too. I think it could also be this chromatic aberration type of effect they have in the game contributing to it. It sort of makes the fine detail look a bit blurry. I hate chromatic aberration and cant seem to turn it off here although maybe it does work a little in this game given the nature of it.

    • @Skeames1214
      @Skeames1214 2 месяца назад +1

      I think it's more noticeable with the more complex meshes in UE5. I still think DLSS looks good, wouldn't say it blurs a "huge" amount of detail, but I don't confuse it with native like I do in some games.

    Does this game letterbox on Ultrawide Monitors? I know it forces 21:9 on 16:9 TVs and Monitors. Or at least from what I have heard. I am hoping it will actually fill the 21:9 Monitor and not do something weird and have black bars around all 4 sides and force 21:9 that way...

    Absolutely gorgeous game. I wish it were fun as well. Do you know why vsync doesn’t work with frame gen? I wanted to use it but the screen tearing was too bad and vsync got greyed out after turning it on.

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  2 месяца назад

      vsync isn't supposed to work with DLSS 3 frame gen as far as I know. You can however use vsync in the Nvidia Control panel. Set it to ON and set a max framerate cap through the Nvidia control panel as well you will have a very fluid consistent experience. It's how Ive done it for a long time now.
