I have been following you for years. I separated after 23 yrs. I have been single for 6 yrs because I had been so badly abused. I am in my early 50’s. I am now with a man from High School. This is our first Christmas together. I can’t wait to wow him with my talent thanks to you. You have taught me how to get a high end look on a budget. I currently live with my 75 yr old widowed Mom. Every year we go all out for Christmas. My family & friends have always been blown away with how I decorate. You truly are an inspiration and I want you to know that. It's so fun! I'm a young mom and I remember when this video came out and I loved the colors but I was also still enjoying the traditional Christmas look. Now that I have been settled a few more years, I want to start experimenting a little... I don't have the budget to do as many colors as you have here, but maybe I can incorporate a few more fun colors and pull back on the traditional red! I learned to decorate my Christmas tree through Ms. R via RUclips years ago. The outcome had me decorating three trees for two other (momma's and sister's) households! Now that I've moved a good distance away I am back to one. Lol I just love your videos.
Oow girl! That is delicious! Love the jewel colors clumped and all the glory of the instruments. Christ is the symbol of the colored rainbow and is brought into the world with a trumpet! Spot on theme!
I use cable ties to attach the stand of my tree to a wire plant stand on wheels so I can wheel my tree around for cleaning, repositioning etc. I look for the ones with a lock on one wheel to hold it still when needed.

Rebecca, I put up 3 trees and they are all different. I have a traditional green tree in the foyer, a white tree in my living room and a black tree in my black and white den room. The white tree you have here is gorgeous. The tree decorating tip you mentioned, which I love, is the animated ornament!! It gives the tree LIFE!!! Love, love, love this!! Thank you!!
After your inspiration, this year I've decided to use an heirloom white vintage chenille bedspread for my tree skirt which was once my Great Grandmother's.
My Christmas tree skirt this year is going to be the bottom part (skirt) of my mom's wedding dress, it's a beautiful white simple vintage wedding dress it has beautiful crystals on it, not too over the top, just enough to shimmer. We gently took it apart from the bodice and sewed the edges, so it doesn't unravel. It's been the best tree skirt we could have come up with, something we look forward to using every year.

I love fabrics under a tree MUCH better than a skirt. I love having the scrunch, and ripples around under the tree. I make snow scenes incorporated too.

I never use traditional tree skirts and usually use large throws…..but, never have I ever thought of using a window curtain panel…I have so many….linen would be great, or a voile layered over a heavier curtain! Thank you! 🎄

I love it! You should mention that the design sessions make a very great gift. Especially for people who are trying to declutter or minimalist. It doesn't need wrapping, takes up no space in your home, and is useful. Many of us refuse to splurge on ourselves this time of year, so I think it is perfect for a child with a new apartment, a mother-in-law you don't know well yet, a grandma who doesn't need anymore nightgowns, anyone! Beat your own drum, toot your own horn...tell everyone to give design sessions for a gift this year!!
Awesome...will definitely do that with the wrapping and the tree..my tree will be white with gold, deep blue, sky blue balls...so the packaging will mimic..thank you so much!!!!! Beautiful!!!!
The idea of putting the ornaments in clusters on a pipe cleaners is genius!! For storage the ornaments could be taken down and stored that way and be so much easier for decorating year after year. And can we talk about the fact that if the ornament clusters were in breakable

I think I'm good, I have been collecting musical instruments since last yr to recreate this tree. I'm using a vintage sliver tree along with the vintage color wheel that came with it (from the 60's), musical insturments in brass, silver, wood (which I spray painted gold/silver) and gold tones. Cobalt blue balls and matching color ribbons. Navtivity scenes along with the three wise men throughout the house.
I hope that you are going to talk about your ceiling treatment - I would love to know how you adhered them to the ceiling. I assume they are battery operated. PS - Love the flocked tree with jewel tone ornaments
The starburst lights are hardwired... Battery operated would not have lasted the season. The wires are staple gunned to the ceiling... between the headboard seams. the cords are hidden behind the tree. It took some manuvering but its pretty well camouflaged overall. Be sure to watch my outdoor decorating video... posting the day after the home tour video. I dangle 18 of those light balls from my 100 year old maple tree. Its pretty stunning! :-) RR

Awaiting eagerly the grand piano reveal! Nice to have the contrast between "More is Better" style of X-mas decor here & the "Less is More" style at Sharrah's (sp?) I've see-sawed between camps over the years but am amazed at how calming my good friend's house is with her simple greens interspersed with a few prized European ornaments, Nutcrackers collected over time.
Sounds beautiful Mari. I'm glad you caught the concept of mixing both over the top...like my tree and less is best... in my accessorizing :-) If everything is over the top ... or conversely, minimalist... it gets to be too much of a good thing! :-) RR
One year I found a vintage ball gown that was a little sun bleached on the top. I cut off the skirt, which has a beautiful red on the inside and a deeper mix of shimmering red and dark blue on the other side, I can switch to either side; it's a perfect tree skirt. I've also switched and only use rechargeable batteries when needed. Rebecca, I've been using your advice for years and always look forward to new ideas. Cheers!

Very cool....super out there tree ;) I love the more glam look....very fun with the instruments...although my personal favourite were the trees in Sarahs log home ;) But once again, you did it! Amazing trees...
Since I will be using a tree collar instead of a tree skirt I think the cardboard trick to have the tree stand be movable but you gave me the idea to use the stick sliders underneath the feet of the tree stand. And voila it will move easily
I absolutely love baubles in clusters. They always make such a dramatic statement. And makes those smaller sizes “come up” lol. The jewel tones are GORGEOUS!!! As always you make Christmas more BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

I use a round tablecloths as tree skirts under 2 small tree and sheer curtain panels as a tree skirt under my larger tree.

Sounds beautiful Mari. I'm glad you caught the concept of mixing both over the top...like my tree and less is best... in my accessorizing :-) If everything is over the top ... or conversely, minimalist... it gets to be too much of a good thing! :-) RR
One year I found a vintage ball gown that was a little sun bleached on the top. I cut off the skirt, which has a beautiful red on the inside and a deeper mix of shimmering red and dark blue on the other side, I can switch to either side; it's a perfect tree skirt. I've also switched and only use rechargeable batteries when needed. Rebecca, I've been using your advice for years and always look forward to new ideas. Cheers!

Since I will be using a tree collar instead of a tree skirt I think the cardboard trick to have the tree stand be movable but you gave me the idea to use the stick sliders underneath the feet of the tree stand. And voila it will move easily
I absolutely love baubles in clusters. They always make such a dramatic statement. And makes those smaller sizes “come up” lol. The jewel tones are GORGEOUS!!! As always you make Christmas more BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Remind's me of one year I couldn't find anything to go with my pinecone forest theme, so I purchased faux fur fabric and did the same tree skirt idea!!!!
