The Prophets, sallalahu aleyhi wasallam, wives, may Allah be pleased with them, reported that he did his own chores, and he praised muslims that do their own chores. He also placed immense emphasis on treating the wife kindly. And Islam places great emphasis on womens education. I see sheikhs talking about a wives duties but rarely do I see men warning one another to treat our women right. To be gentle for them, to provide well for them, to give them ease. I cant imagine a good muslim to sit while his wife runs around the house chasing chore after chore. May Allah rectify the wrongs and have mercy on us.
Never have I seen the shuyookh who advise the women also advise the men "to just sit". I see a lot of advice out there for men, if you look for the truth you will find it. As a woman, the advice being given here is loved and appreciated. May Allaah keep us firm upon the truth.
Youve misunderstood the prophet doing chores. It doesnt mean he did them everyday it means when he was home he helped out. As the man goes out to work and the woman takes care of the house. If u expect to marry a man who works all day then comes home and does work ur in for a rude awakening and this is coming from a sister. I dont understand why muslimahs nowadays find it so difficult to understand the man has his duties and the woman has hers. Housework does not even take the majoirty of ur day so im not understanding why u dont have time to educate urself from ur home?
@Madmarkhor I am a man. I go to work and when I come home I try my best to get work done there as well. For one, because my wife also works, and because she's my wife and I promised with Allah as my witness to be kind to her. Though I sometimes do need rest. I haven't misunderstood the Prophet, peace be upon him, doing chores. I'm not saying a man should be at home doing the chores, I agree that men and women have their own roles and duties. But I personally do not like when men try to justify doing nothing at home after work by saying it's the woman's job. And it's concerning to me when a man puts this much emphasis on the women doing everything for the husband. I mean, cleaning his books? Will you as a man not lift a finger when your wife is running through the house? And by education, I mean getting a degree, for example. I would not want this message to misguide anyone, but I wanted to share my thoughts since I think what he say, though not wrong, is a concerning message to say. A woman would be very virtuous to do as he said, but it shouldn't be expected from her. To me, this much service would be like a man earning a grand amount of money. I shall cease responding to this. It is not right. Assalamu aleykum wa rahmatullah
