9:30 Funny you should mention this. Lovebites mentioned in the bassist audition that Fami had good intuition about knowing when to add notes and when she shouldn't so that she wouldn't step on any toes :) I miss Miho, but I think we will all enjoy this new chapter of Lovebites

I watched the Lovebites bassist audition documentary yesterday. Let me just say that at the end Asami was getting emotional talking about how they felt like with everything that happened they were losing confidence as a band and forgetting "what it was to shine" and that watching Fami having fun during the audition reminded her that it's pointless to play music if you're not having fun. I could see the tears in Asami's eyes when she was talking about it. I'm so glad they found someone who was able to inspire them this much!

You have it backward Fami was the one who was losing interest and was prepared to give up. Asami, Miyako, Midori, and Haruna never gave up they knew what they had to do. If you follow them on Instagram you would see it
@@salsaucedo No I don't. You have it right about Fami but the part I'm talking about is at the very end of the documentary after the member cards appear. Asami literally says "so much that happened, the four of us began to lose confidence as a band"

I'm 60, & I agree with you I was around when the NWOBHM started & some of their songs are from that era there is an influence from across the spectrum which is what makes them so good it's like they have sprinkled Lovebites all over Heavy Metal it's awesome to hear & see . The released their new album at 22 February. The new bassist is called Fami (an artistic nickname) and she is by far the youngest and also the tallest in the band. She is astonishing.
The new album is impeccable. It’s a freight train that comes at you full speed and it doesn’t stop. At first you are stunned from the sheer power and speed of the album, but after 2-3 listens it opens up to you and it’s clear that the album is an impeccable masterpiece.
All the lyrics written by Asami.
4 songs composed by Miyako (including the last song of the album, an astonishing incredible composition) and the rest of the songs were composed with the help of Mao with Asami and orchestration etc by Miyako and of course tight collaboration between the members.
The bass lines were written last and Fami basically played Miyako’s lines and added her own flare and details.
You have to spend time to appreciate the album and not just react.
Do the required reactions and schedule them to be uploaded when you want, but listen the album as soon as you can.
You will be astonished. They returned more confident, more powerful, more technical than ever. This is their fourth (4!)) full length album and they keep upping the quality. Masterpieces all around.

FAMI's public work was all pop/rock/funk so fans were rightfully worried that there was a chance the bass lines could have gone in a different direction. Through interviews and social posts we learned that FAMI's dad is a huge metal head that loves the classics. I'm glad that this came to light so fans know that FAMI isn't going to deviate too far from heavy metal orthodoxy.
She definitely fits in!

Welcome back to Lovebites! Now you see why the excitement over this new album and this band is out of control. What is really hard to fathom is what they did during their hiatus: They searched for and found their new bassist; wrote a ton of new music; Practiced a LOT to level up their already amazing skills; Midori started competing in bodybuilding tournaments and has almost won a couple; Asami and Miyako had babies....other than that, it was not too busy!
Unbelievable! With all of these going on they still managed to put out such an impressive lead single. Can't wait to listen to the whole record :)

Welcome back, Alexander. It's always nice to watch you reacting to Lovebites songs. The 'chromatic scale' you referring to as progressive reminds me of Rainbow's Gates of Babylon, also its main riff kinda influencing Shadowmaker if you played 2-3 times faster 🤘

Nice reaction! You seem to be a very cheerful person, with a positive energy. Not Fami-level, of course lol. The cheerfulness she displays in her videos always bring a big smile to my face, even though I can't understand a word she's saying (until somebody puts subtitles). I haven't seen the bass audition documentary, but from the people who have and are commenting here, I understand that she's had a very similar effect on the Lovebites members too. I love Miho and I will always be grateful to her for having brought this fantastic band into existence, but I'm also very happy that Lovebites seem to have found a very worthy successor on bass. I have no doubt that Miho and all the members of Lovebites will continue to create and delight us with great music. As a matter of fact, they've just done it again with Judgement Day (the album).
Really looking forward to listening to the whole thing!

if you want an introduction to the skills fami brings to the band i would recommend checking out alien alien on her channel which i believe she recorded at the age of 17 which she is only 20 now. she shows so many different skills on the bass in that song its quite impressive. I hate to say this because i love miho and wish her nothing but the best in her upcoming and future adventures but i think fami is an upgrade and she seems to be a solid fit personallity wise as well. before you listen to the whole album i personally would like to see what you think of the second video off this album first called stand and deliver.

These two songs definitely stand out (immediately)... the others (next to "Judgement Day" and "Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down)") are very good as well, the lightest (catchy) song may be "My Orion".

We all missed Lovebites. I had mixed feelings as to what their comeback would sound like. Those mixed feelings were exploded within the first minute of this song, and my expectations were blown out of the water. It's not just that they came back stronger out of hiatus. This album I believe will get them much more global recognition. It already started as SiriusXM Liquid Metal has played both "Judgement Day" and "Dissonance" regularly in rotation, and both songs made the Devils Dozen and held spots for weeks.
"Dissonance" is an audio only track for which is their heaviest, and their 2nd music video, "Stand and Deliver" is a slightly different sound for the album, old school heavy metal/hard/rock sound and a totally fun music video that will make you smile. After that, just react to every other song. It's worth it. Glad to see you back with Lovebites.

The whole album is an insane banger from start to finish, almost a statement to the metal world.

We must stop the comparisons with past groups so much they are above everything that has been done until now. They are the ones who must be the point of reference now! With all the respect I have for Iron Maiden, Dream Theater and all the others there is no possible comparison...In addition this album is the best of all eras!
It's just a way of experiencing music, referencing past bands. But it does not take away from the astonishing talent they display :)

On 17 August 2021, LOVEBITES took an extended break after the departure of their leader, bassist Miho.
The remaining girls organised an audition for a new bassist from around the world and recruited a new bassist called Fami(Ba).
Fami is a five-string bassist who can dance, sing and play and has 671,000 RUclips subscribers.
You will be amazed by new bassist Fami's slapping and fast finger picking. If you watch "Alien Alien" on her RUclips channel, which was uploaded 4 years ago with 10,530,000 listens on her content, you will be amazed at her world-class slapping skills.
Fami had his signature headless bass WOODLINE5AC-HL Fami from the Bacchus Handmade Series when he was 19 years old.
