Dude so excited to watch this video, I will watch the full video soon! There are not a lot of RUclips videos on newly released Emerson knives, thanks man!:)
DOITNOW00 you bet man, thanks for watching! I keep noticing new things about these neck knives, i might do a follow up video with some additional thoughts before long, also gotta post the tiger review soon too!
Dude I didn't know there were post credit scene! Thanks for the demonstration ! You made a good point by saying people forget that they didn't buy these knives just as a tool, they just forces on the material. But the design and the style of the Emerson knives are quite unparalleled. Also could you please do a paper cut test on these knives in the next video? Thanks a lot.
DOITNOW00 go watch the end of the Tiger video, looooots of slicing! Btw the neck knives are killing food too, used the kwaiken to cube a pretty soft tomato, no problem, very impressive given the stock thickness.
Ha, matching set! Yeah I think it would have been a very huge coincidence.... Interesting with the finish, it looks really rough but unique, people give Emerson knives a hard time about the fit and finish but I found they always make sure the edges are not sharp so they are typically made to be comfortable. These will be of very good collector value, good purchase!
DOITNOW00 yeah, for all their "roughness" any of the edges that contact your hand are nicely rounded, and the circular holes are even chamfered. (Though the blade spine towards tip is nice and sharp 90 degree for fire rod) these are deceptively simple knives at first glance, turns out there is allot more consideration in them than you might at first assume.
DOITNOW00 yes i do, can't say for sure, but the texture does appear to hold oils, i guess if you fully stripped/degreased the knife those textures might also hold water? But as long as you have a light oil on it, or even just oil from your hand, it should protect it (i would think)
I feel like something very exciting is about to come from Emerson knives, they did try a few new things in the last couple of years, s35vn, coin on the signature series, fixed models of the folders... I look forward to see what they do next, I am going to buy that very special fixed blade model from them some day.
DOITNOW00 lots of new things over at Emerson. Ernie historically was not into flippers, now they have half a dozen of them. Used to be only washers, now a we see bearings on select models. As you mentioned, s35vn is showing up. The signature series, the axes, the balisongs, the "area 51" protos, and that's just the product. If you look at them from a media presence angle their changing up their game allot as well. Look at the "preview" videos for all the new knives, and most notably, the new emerson podcast! Emerson has historically caught allot of shit for being "out dated" but you can really sense that they are aware and stepping up the the plate, modernizing, and getting savy from a business perspective. I think its fascinating, and exciting as collector.
Feels like making the handle scales for the saex might be a little difficult because it only has two round shaped holes, other places on the handle only has irregular shapes, I don't know but it would be interesting to see a handle made for it.

DOITNOW00 absolutely, they cut paper fairly well, and their monsters with cardboard.
Roejimbo yeah I thought so too but I just enjoy watching it slicing something, even if it is paper.:)

Did you ever get custom scales for the Seax?
Do you think the black finish would aid in corrosion resistance?
