Got this a couple of days ago. My 8 kg Ragdoll went right in and used it without a trace of hesitation! And this after he was using a robot litter 3 for 6 years now. The latter was forcibly retired when I had to repair the pinch contact problem for the second time. A hassle...I was sick and tired of having to become a litter box engineer due to a bad design/low quality spare parts. I am now trying to configure the Wi-Fi connection with the box.
What made you choose this one vs the LitterRobot? Currently they have the LR4 - also in terms of litter.. I hear they recommend to use unscented because cats have 14x better scent of smell, so any scents can be super heightened.. thoughts?? - Love the pros / cons
Thanks for your comment. I was in need of a hand free litter box because of pregnancy. It’s not recommended to handle litter during pregnancy, plus I liked the low maintenance. It just so happened that the company reached out to me and offered me this one for free, therefore, I did not need to pursue other high tech boxes any further. The only reason why I like this one is because at the time, litter robot didn’t and probably still doesn’t have one in white, and I liked that it matched everything in my room. (Sounds superficial but I think the liter robot is ugly) As far as the scented verses non, I’ve tried both & like both. The lavender can be overbearing even to me, but if you have good air circulation in your household (I don’t, I live in the basement unit) and if you live in a large home where the scent can travel, then the scented one may be worth it. The unscented came in handy when my neighbors attracted rats to their home. The rats can smell cat pee and it protects your home. So unscented has its benefits
@@DestinyDiamond Makes sense. I'd be picky as well with the colors if I had to spend $500+.. and I'm the same. I'm looking for the most convenient.. and the automated ones are definitely the way to go vs changing out litter boxes every so often. - Lavender: True.. if the place is ventilated enough it should be good.. but eliminating the scent of the poop/pee is critical too.. because I heard dogs like the taste of cat poop.. But it's what I read =/..
Very interesting and sounds like pricewise they are competitive with other brands. I'm not a pet owner but the app features and hands-free featured made me think if I ever am, this would be my kind of litter box. No touch, no mess...no stress 👍🏽
@@DestinyDiamond no problem. I do think the weight thing is cool but what if I have 2 or 3 similar in weight cats? How will it know which is which? Maybe add a tag feature that attaches to collars? Idk just thoughts of a non pet owner 😉
My Pura Max problem is urine found deposited at the top of the base unit. One more problem is while on cleaning cycle, it constantly stop for reason cat is using the toilet despite no cat inside it.
Only if pine pellets clump. It has so be able to clump all the waste together and go down the shoot. I wouldn't use pellets at all. It would swallow your money when using this device.
@@aerynbanh7067 There isn't a limit on how many times you can turn it off and on. I haven't timed it, but I think that it will turn on for a minute or two, then turn off on it's own, when your cat leaves the box.
@@DestinyDiamond I'm allergic to cats to or so my doctor says but I have 9 cats that live outside and taking prescribed allergy meds and nothing has happened and I'm going to be putting a 2 week Simease kitten into my room we feed it soft kitten food because it's mom is young and don't like to feed it
No actually. You have to take the round rotating part off and tip it over to empty it. I have done it once this month and it wasn't that bad. Poor it into your trash can.
Yes. The age requirement is based on weight. You are correct. I suppose if you have a bigger cat and is still under 6 months, that one can still use this litter box :)
True. The ad that they have on their website has a Maine coon. They emailed me after this video and said that breed fits fine. They do have a return policy if you're unsatisfied. You could always return it if you don't like it
No. There isn't anything that I am not satisfied with. Although, I think that sometimes when I press the "light" button on my phone app, it doesn't turn on, or it's too slow to turn on for my liking. But, I never use the light so it doesn't effect me at all. That's something to consider if the light in the inside is important to you. What I like about it in comparison to my old literbox is that I don't have to scoop anymore, it doesn't smell at all, that's the best part because I hate the smell of cat pee and 💩.and the app always tells me when my kitty goes to the bathroom, even of I am hours away, I still get the notification on my phone, which is cool. I was at a family party recently, and I was worried about if whether or not my cat was playing around my Christmas tree, and if she was okay.... Then I got the notification that she pooped lol and it made me feel better hahahahaha.
You realize that you put the litter catching mat the wrong way? The red part is supposed to go under the cat toilet. The red area I dictates the ra be of the sensors.
Company is in China and has no US support/contact. Number on website goes to a multi-distribution warehouse in FL. All emails go to china. This explains why there is no physical address listed on the site. Just got all this from a warehouse worker. This explains why I am having so many issues getting a refund (two weeks now)...if you are thinking about buying this, please do not. The mat in the bottom can be cut by a cats claw and urine will leak down into the base...and the issues go on and on...again, find another product and avoid all the problems I am going through.
Maybe. But my other litterbox was just as small, so I am not getting any different. I like the lid because she kicks the litter everywhere on the floor and makes a huge mess otherwise.
For sure! As you should. They told me they have a return policy for the first three months. If it's still within the time frame I believe you can get your money back.
Just from watching videos the main thing I don't like about the Pura x is how it's so small especially the opening. Also at the very front entrance there is a gap where litter falls down into the base of the unit.

Can you use pine pellets with this litter box

It is pretty expensive…Does look high end and pretty durable. I’d be scared at first too when it started to rotate if I was a cat.
Lmao! Yes! I would agree!
I adopted a kitten very very similar to yours. It's nice to see how mine will look like 1 year later:)
Can you set the light to always be on?
Actually no. You can turn it on and off with your phone, but it will not stay on.
@@DestinyDiamond whats the max time you can keep it on for?

It uses batteries so you won't want it always on
Is that Princess Tiger Lily???
Yes

super helpful, ty! is there a self emptying function for when you want to change the litter?

i watched the vid where you got lily! Im a new sub thanks for all the tips!
Thank you for watching!!!!
What’s the name of the app?
Petkit
Thank you for the review. I have 2 kitten maine coon and considering to buy this, but i was worried it will not fit when they grow older and bigger

was thinking it looks small. isnt it suppose to be 1.5 time length of cat.
if the cat is happy then its all good.
I’ve heard there are issues with customer service. Now that you’ve had this for quite some time, are there issues/malfunctions that have occurred?

That's great!!!! Good price. Where?
For safety reasons, this is not for kittens!
