    Thank you, I have 5 cats who are indoor/outdoor cats but when the weather closes in they like to use the litter box, I started looking at auto cleaning simply because of my disability this is the first one that I have seen that uses the phone app but also looks a lot smaller than some of the other ones. I use a clumping litter already and was really pleased that you pointed out that the times for auto cleaning could be changed as it can take up to 5min for the clumping action to work.

  • @TeleeFONE
    @TeleeFONE 2 года назад +60

    My advice is to use wet tissue to clean the insides every 3 weeks and deep clean with water and soap every 6 months. This is more effective and less time consuming and also I use the highest cycle time so the litter will have more time to clump and less stick to the sides during the clean cycle.

    • @dawsie
      @dawsie 2 года назад +1

      Great idea I have baby wipes in the bathroom as they work well on the whole family so it stands to reason it should work well on the litter box as well. As you say every 6 months would be fine too as this would cut down on wasting litter when it comes time to cleaning the unit out.

      Hi, i'm a new pura max user for 2 days now. I'm using wood litter & I have to separate the clean from the dirty litter and the poops as the they are all mixed up. I have changed the litter type settings on the apps from mixed to tofu but i do not see much difference. I really need ur suggestion on this

    • @camillagroen

      @@annesuhairi2931 It sounds like you put too much litter in. I also use wood clumping litter. Cat's Best. I have filled in significantly below the max line and it works just fine. Also set cleaning time to 15-20 min. after cat visit. :) Check the fb support group. There are lots of great advise.

    Thanks you so much for your review. I saw this litter box pop through my Facebook feed and was interested. When I clicked the link there was a promotional price running so decided to look for some reviews. Your review was very in-depth and informative and helped me to decide to order it at the VERY special price. I hope it works well as the last automatic box we had (Natures Miracle) was very noisy and actually ended up breaking after 6 months of use. I hope this litter box fairs better. Thank you again.

    I noticed your litter looked wet, I have the Pura X and was having the same problem with wet litter, I read this happens when your litter levels become too low, I maintain a 90-100% litter levels to stop wet litter, one of my cats stopped using the Pura X because of the wet litter, I've ordered the Max thanks to your review, my 3 cats will have the choice of both X and Max.

    Finding a bag that fits that is cheaper for it would make this a an auto supreme litter box. Also filling those bottles with a cat safe spray would be amazing.

    I use the bags of tofu litter and it's not as bulky as a big bag. Putting it into maintenence mode makes it easy to fill and clean. It's super easy to clean and I'm disabled. Using a shower is the easiest method but I've used a wipe on it too in the past. I also use the little blocks in the trash tray to help with the loss of smell. Best money I've ever spent.

    The inside appears pretty small. Years ago I had one of the first litter robots (ka-ching) and neither cat was thrilled with it. Finally my one cat decided it was easier to just eliminate outside the "bot" then inside, or would enter and not turn around resulting with urine on the step that couldn't be cleaned. The price is this is pretty high - why aren't they made with a bigger inside so cats don't feel trapped? But at the end of the day you still have to haul a bag of used litter to the trash. Of course, its all about what one can afford and what the cat will use. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks for the review. We have also bought the petkit pura max for our 6 months old ragdoll. And we have followed all the instructions properly. However we cant seem to make the smell go away. It only takes some hours after use and it starts to smell a lot from the dustbin even though it`s sealed and closed. We empty the bin everyday but it still smells. We hav set the timer on for 20 minutes so the litter gets clumped properly. We use clay litter. Do u have any tips for us. And do u know what the rubber place is for in the dustbin that looks likee a small filter.

Another thing that I’ve found is that the scales are off and also I never get any notification about the cat litter being empty it’s been close to empty more than empty than what yours was and it would still tell me the cat litter was full

    Hi, I received my pura max on June 17 and all has been working great. I kept one regular litter box available while they got use to the pura max. I let the Regular box get filled up before scooping while keeping the pm litter fresh with litter deodorizer. After a week and a half I was able to remove the extra litter box. I really like being able to see which cat has used it by their individual weight with the app notifications. I have 5 cats by the way, ranging from 1 year to 15 years old. I also built a little platform the same size as the included mat so the olde cats can climb in. So far so good. I’ll update after my first full disassembly and cleaning

      Put old poop/pee clumps ,some old litter they are currently using into the new Max. Left only 1 old regular litter box ,put it next to the Max ,and Remove all others litter boxes. Don’t clean the old regular litter box. When it too dirty, cats no choice and will look to other cleaner litter box aka Pura max. Turned off the automatically cleaning after they left. Check your cats data time,what time they using it. Then Use schedule cleaning mode,set a properly times cleaning when cats are sleeping. Take few days to weeks. Patient.

    Thank for the review,
    I 've purchased this a few months back, at USD 156 without the mat, but I purchased the mat afterward, whiles I do have pros and cons, the cons are only a minor thing.
    I used petkit 5 in 1 mix litter.
    anyway the pros, the unit is a all in one, easy to clean, although I haven't the change to clean it, but you can just put it in the bath tub, and use the shower head.
    cons are mainly cosmetic looks, the edges are badly made, the toilet bin and the display moves around when you touch the button or display.
    Now the main thing is, ive have this a few months, my cat doesn't even like to use it, used it twice so far, so how do people get their cat to use it, my cat isnt scared of it, it just like to watch it move.

      it is easier but some people have busy schedules or disabilties that can be challenging with maintaining a litter box daily. Also some people dont have the space for the amount of boxes recommended per cat in house. I believe this can replace litter boxes enough for give or take 5 cats.

    I’m really thinking about getting a automatic litter box because my kitten doesn’t want to cover his poop. We use same litter and litter box he used use when he was with his mum and siblings. We clean twice a day the litter box but he just doesn’t cover his poop. He is digging on the other side of the litter box not near the poop 😅. At the moment is not so big problem because I’m working from home but I might not in future so it wouldn’t be there someone most of the time to clean straightaway the poop. The smell is quite strong when not covered. My kitten is ragdoll so he will grow into a quite big cat. Do you think this automatic litter box would be big enough for large breed like him? That’s my main concern because I saw most of the automatic litter boxes from different brands look quite small. Also, did you have any issues with the cats getting scared of the litter box when seeing it self cleaning?

    • @SvenandRobbie
      @SvenandRobbie  Год назад +1

      I feel like all automatic boxes are limited in space. Sven is 14 pounds are is a pretty snug fit. My cats eventually got use to the box cleaning their poop, but in the beginning Louise would go check on it and constantly interrupt the cycle

      I'm in the same boat. I have an open-air Litter Maid automatic litter box that I use with World's Best Cat Litter. I had to go automatic, because I travel a lot for work, and my little man will not cover his business. He also goes in the exact same spot.
      However, he finds a way to step on the power button, or he messes with the rake during a cycle like a Gremlin - I've seen him do it, which errors it out and turns it into a manual box anyway. There have been multiple times I've come home exasperated because of this. It's only because of the quality of the litter that it's not a bigger issue.
      I called him little, but he's actually pretty big. I bought the PuraMax today on an Amazon Prime Day sale I couldn't pass up, especially since I've had my eye on it for weeks now. I'm glad for these honest reviews, because it makes me feel better about my choice.

      Funny! My female cat, she's mixed with ragdoll and she wouldn't cover her poops or pee when she was a kitten. I had to insist by grabbing her and put her again in the litter box while saying "poop, cover poop". As she started to grow she would sometimes be a smartass and not cover it but I would put her back and then she would cover while complaining lol. Now, she's almost 2 years old and she covers her poops and pee (only in a blue moon she decides to be a diva and not do it lol)

This explains why I am having so many issues getting a refund (two weeks now)...if you are thinking about buying this, please do not. I've stopped using litter, came up with a $20 system. Downside very hands on cleaning every 4 days, and no odour at all. The trick I randomly discovered is "Bicarb Soda!" Litter Kwitter is best but only one of my two cats took to it, but my new system is a $15 box from Kmart and $5 legs for elevation, no more litter! =)

    • @thelovelyt1

      Where in the heck is a K-mart?
      Also since the baking soda is so fine does it track everywhere?

    • @TJDash
      @TJDash 2 года назад

      @@thelovelyt1 I'll try link you here, but basically, it's a litter box right, normal box, preferably rounded and no corners, easier to clean, and a second tray that sits inside but elevated with holes at the bottom... So below this tray I sprinkle less than a handful off bicarb soda lightly, then pour 100-200mil of water in. So basically the sifting tray sits above the bottom tray where there's a mixture of water and bicarb soda, so when my cats pee it goes through the sifting layer with holes in it, and goes into the liquid layer mix, odour is trapped in there and it doesn't smell at all, initially for a minute it will when fresh then disappears. They don't stand on litter or the bicarb it's kinda like our toilet how there's water and urine goes in there but smell is neutralised by the bicarb soda. But what about poop? Fortunately and unfortunately my boys don't don't poop in the box, because the tray is in the bathroom they poop in the tiled floor, which is easy to just use toilet paper to pick up and throw in the toilet and happens once a day or every second day, and I wipe the floor. Sorry, convoluted explanation. I'll try link you in in the tray I bought from Kmart.
