ive actually been running that in all my vehicles for the last couple years. ive had absolutely 0 issues. no drop in oil levels on any of my vehicles. even at 5k oil changes.
Haha the truck was ok. It had some weird issues before I sold it. But it had shorty headers and a Flowmaster muffler on it. It definitely had some drone with that setup 😅
Hey man nice vid. I'm struggling to remove the drain plug smh 😅. How many miles on your Dakota? I got the quad cab , 55k miles . Any advice for the following years ? Thanks 👍
haha thank you! i sold that truck a couple years ago. but I've had a couple of them. the exhaust manifold bolts rusted out on this one which was a pain to change out. i had some weird electrical issues here and there. but other than normal maintenance stuff, the truck was pretty good. the 4.7 had head gasket issues. but i never ran into any of them luckily.
if it takes 5w20. i would stay with that. if you need some oil to get home you can throw that in. but if youre doing an oil change... i would say you need to stay with 5w20
My oil cap is very difficult to get off. I don't see anything wrong with it. Is this a normal problem with these caps, or do I just need a new one? Plus, you need small hands to get your hands around it due to its location.
@@Simpsons.R.S Right........ I was just wondering if you bought a new one to fix the problem. They cost about $8. I will get a replacement an let you know if it fixes the problem.
8:59 I have the same truck crew cab in tan great truck 4.7 litre So 6 quarts of 5W30 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I use the same oil as u do! It’s no different than mobile 1 high mileage and half the price.. and the old dodge runs great..

what was that tool called you used to get out your filter?
i think its just a oil claw wrench? they make cheaper ones and well them at harbor freight. but they dont last as long.
My truck 2008 dodge dakota takes 5w 20.can I use 5w 30??

After how many miles is it due for a v8 oil change
depends on who you talk to and what oil you're running. most are changing oil at 5k these days.
@@Simpsons.R.S thank you
2005 Dodge Dakota Owners Manual, Schedule A, says every 6000 miles
3000 mile intervals

i have had that same problem before as well. they do seem to get tight sometimes!
@@Simpsons.R.S OK.......... so a new cap will fix the problem?
it might.... honestly I just lived with it being tight. i don't think a cap would be too expensive. It might be a good idea to try it and see?
