Awesome! Always nice to know the work I put into this material helps people out. Since you left such a nice comment, I'm going to give you a pro tip that I'll cover in the next OpenTx video: Under Radio Setup (gear icon) near the very bottom of the page there's an option called "Play delay (sw. mid pos)" I have mine set to 190ms. What that does is delays playing of a track for a switch position for that period of time. Here's the idea: Say you have high, mid, low rates on SB like I do and you flip from High to Low. You don't need to hear the radio call out the mid position because you skipped over mid. By using that delay if you move the switch before the 190ms is up, the radio won't play the middle track. You probably need to install the Amber sound pack. Download Amber Sound Pack: hmvc.eu/Amber22.rar Put Contents in SD Card SOUND -> EN The Amber sound pack offers a great deal more prompts than the default sound pack.
Not everything available in special functions is available in global functions, and there may be some things you want for just one plane that you don't want for all planes. Global Functions will work on every plane that has the "use global functions" box checked.
Good afternoon, I greet you from Colombia ..... It would be good that in addition to the explanation he gives us of the control settings, they would see what they do on the plane. This for those who do not understand English. Thank you
Hi, Thanks for watching. Welcome to the channel. Can you give me more information? I'm not sure what you mean about how the control settings impact the plane. Really, none of these global functions do anything to the controls on the plane. The only one that is control related are the audio announcements for the rates and those don't actually change anything on the plane, they just say what rate is selected.
@@RCVideoReviews thanks for the reply. I mean the other and upcoming videos that I make. so that we can physically see what the plane does with the teachings it gives us about control. Thank you
I'm trying to implement some of the Global Functions that you outlined in this video, but I've run into a couple of obstacles. 1) The S1 and S2 rotating pots don't seem to show up in the list of available switches and 2) When I try to assign a switch to Play a Track, none of the .wav audio files show up under the parameters column. I just see four little dots. I checked, and those .wav files are present in the English folder of the Sounds folder. Any thoughts? Thanks for a great video series!
The pots are not available in the first column, but they are available in the 4th column. Do this on a blank GF Line: 1) SA down 2) Volume 3) Press Jog Dial and release. Cursor should blink. Spin S1 or S2. That should set S1 or S2 as the volume control for the radio. It shouldn't be "English" it should be "en". The path should be: /SOUNDS/en/ The first file in that path shoul dbe 1cell.wav if you're using Amber. If you see that in your SD browser, long press on it and the popup should offer a play option. Hit play. If that works, then you should see the wav options in your drop downs.
@@RCVideoReviews Success! I've got volume control on a pot, timer reset, and three dual rate settings, with audible announcements of their status. It is coming together!
@@RCVideoReviews I installed the Amber voice pack (after my first inquiry to you about this) and those .wav files showed up. The Amber sound pack offers a great deal more prompts than the default sound pack.
@@RCVideoReviews thanks John... Will now do so.
Question... I have new TX16S max.....in global functions mode there is NO hi rate mid rate or low rate ???
Your thoughts please. Thanks
Nope, no mid, low or high rates in global functions. That's true.

The operation of the INST. TRIM, what does it do, reset the TRIM? I tried to do what you did in the video and nothing happened.
Instant trim uses whatever values your sticks have for rudder/aileron/elevator and sets those values of your trim with one click.
I programmed some play tracks in special functions on tx12. Edgetx/elrs How do I delete them? Thank you.
How do you do a throttle cut
This is about the best I came up with: ruclips.net/video/Y0eKFAFNeX8/видео.html
Can you adjust backlight with a pot?
That question came up in last week's livestream and I have not found a way to do it.
That’s great.👍
Looks like you found the video stash :)
thats funny because i do all of these in special functions. whats the difference between doing this in global functions vs special functions tab?
Not everything available in special functions is available in global functions, and there may be some things you want for just one plane that you don't want for all planes. Global Functions will work on every plane that has the "use global functions" box checked.
@@RCVideoReviews ah so cool I get it!!! Thanks a bunch ❤️
@@josephfreeman5289 Anytime.
Thank you
Ok, I think I understand. If I have anything directly impacting the plane I will try to show it.
@@RCVideoReviews muchas gracias
I'm trying to implement some of the Global Functions that you outlined in this video, but I've run into a couple of obstacles. 1) The S1 and S2 rotating pots don't seem to show up in the list of available switches and 2) When I try to assign a switch to Play a Track, none of the .wav audio files show up under the parameters column. I just see four little dots. I checked, and those .wav files are present in the English folder of the Sounds folder. Any thoughts? Thanks for a great video series!
The pots are not available in the first column, but they are available in the 4th column.
Do this on a blank GF Line:
1) SA down
2) Volume
3) Press Jog Dial and release.
@@tcgliderguy1 Awesome! What was the issue with sound?
@@RCVideoReviews I installed the Amber voice pack (after my first inquiry to you about this) and those .wav files showed up. I think there may still be an issue with the Companion app finding the SD card contents, but I'm puzzling over that now. I've got a manually created backup of the latest version of the SD card on my computer, so there's no danger of anything going to far astray. Thanks for the help!
@@tcgliderguy1 You're welcome.
Thanks
You're welcome.
Very helpful!
Thank you. Do you use an OpenTx radio?
@@RCVideoReviews Yes, of course! I am an old user of the FrSky QX7, have been delighted with it most of the time, but now the age of the TXs (I have a couple) shows, so I am waiting a bit before buying my first RatioMaster. I would follow one of your links, if they were available at the time.
I don't think I have an affiliate option for the Radiomaster products. Amazon sells them at inflated prices so I wouldn't recommend them. I got mine from Defiancerc.com in Huntsville AL and they got it shipped out in a day. So when you're ready, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them based on my experience with them on this purchase.
I appreciate the offer of using an affiliate link though. Thanks ;)
I have latest sd card installed but on my playtrack selection no hirat or lowrat wav! please assist if possible thanks. I have looked in latest zip as well but dont see Hirat etc either perplexed not in system folder either... I have noheli for radio build
ok I have now found the open tx sound editor cool make my own warnings for high rate etc was that what I was missing out on lol www.open-tx.org/2014/03/15/opentx-speaker
You need to download and install the Amber sound pack.
@@RCVideoReviews yes done that scolling is a chore so remember to always set up tracks on companion!
@@BrianRamseysg01 Absolutely right :)
Ahhh haaa! No play on startup! Thanks!
;) There are some nifty little tricks in OpenTx.
I really wanna copy YOUR sd card! 😁
Sorry, you need security clearance for that--and there's the matter of the fee. ;)
I solved the problem by using ‘set Timer1 00.08.00’ but after your email changed back to Reset and everything works. Must have been my finger trouble sorry and thanks.9
Ok, good. Glad you're working.
My global function don’t those 3 little dots
Can you be more specific? Are you referring to the three dashes that are placeholders for the switches? What are your build options?
@@RCVideoReviews in Global Variables:

I was trying to do the same thing you did but on the GLOBAL VARIABLES page it was not the same as on your radio.
I am using RadioMaster TX16s Max.
@@reginaldmcnab3265 Global Variables are not the same as Global functions. You get to Global Variables by pressing the MODEL key. You get to Global Functions by pressing the SYSTEM key.
@@RCVideoReviews yes you are right! Thank you so much! Ice work! Thank you once more.
THis has. nothing to do with companion wth???
Yeah, you're right. I went through a bulk rename some time ago to try and get some consistency in the way I titled videos and this one got caught up in that. Obviously I didn't use companion for the demo, so I took it back out of the title. Thanks for writing.
To bad you can't make your motor cut off set up, a global function.
Yeah, there are limitations in Global Functions. It would probably be a bad idea to make channel overrides available globally.
