What else would you like to see me do with this machine? Let me know below!

Klipprtize it using the existing screen. Replace board for additional z-axis w better integrated leveling. Measure flow of current and alternative nozzles. Do a speed test or comparison and make a new prusa or cura profile that pushes it as fast as possible. Test nylon, cf, tpu and other mats. Great review, keep it up!

I would love to see how you leveled the gantry because it seems so important. I would also be interested in any quality improvement tips this machine may need. I have personally struggled with trying to get high quality prints from printers and I am always on the lookout for more tips and tricks. I would love to see some various overhang tests, stringing tests, slicer tests, and quality nitpicking content. It's always hard to understand what kind of quality you will get from a machine over the internet, so I am always looking for content related to the issues which arise when attempting to get good quality prints. Anyway, I hope your channel does well 👍

How about adding klipper with possible input shaper 👍.

    Did you say colour-swapping??
I love my Sovol V06. I use the K2 "Test Disc" for my Z-offset, and I swapped out for an Ultistik plate -- the one they included left grid marks on everything.
Thanks for a detailed review. These are great budget-friendly entry-level machines, and I would recommend one with little hesitation.

Thank you for watching! Yeah I did notice their build plate paint does leave marks on some of my prints. Not a deal breaker but definitely why I suggest removing it to begin with

I think I disagree on the Z axis motor opinion. As someone that is replacing an Anet A8 that has dual Z axis motors with the Sovol SV06(it is being delivered today) I have had issues where my Z axis motors would turn differently at times. This initially causes print issues but then leads to binding where it just stops working all together. I considered making a belt setup to force both Z axis motors to spin together but the current pricing on the Sovol stuff made me decide to just replace the whole thing.

Great video. Love the in-depth, impartial review after real world use. I didn't understand your comment about one motor controlling both z-axis (4:06). That model appears to have two z motors. Did you mean the two z motors share one driver?

    • @B1GJano
      @B1GJano  Год назад +2

Thank you for watching! and yes. I meant to say it has only one driver for both motors. I got my words crossed haha. Thanks for catching that.

I was hoping Sovol would make a few improvements to the SV06 and SVO6 Plus and add Klipper to make the SV07 and SV07 Plus, but alas, the SV07 was a few steps backwards before adding Klipper. I'm hopeful that Sovol will make an SV08 and SV08 Plus based on an improved SV06 design.
I was leaning toward a Creality K1 Max to get better print quality and so I could print ABS again, but I concluded that I not only don't need an enclosed machine, I actually don't want one. Doors are a hassle and eat up space I don't have and enclosures make the 3D printer expensive and difficult to service. The open architecture of the SV06 Plus is great and putting the power supply and electronics behind the vertical extrusions makes them very easy to access, facilitates cooling, and prevents them from vacuuming crud off the table.
Improvements I'd like to see: Klipper with WiFi, USB-A, 4 wire CANbus to the print head with continuous flex rated cable, dual Z stepper motors, improved part cooling probably including a curtain fan on the back of the gantry, Volcano nozzle.
It's tempting to buy an SV06 Plus and add a Klipper pad as well as possibly implementing improved part cooling. The Klipper pad can control up to four 3D printers. Four SV06 Plus printers would make a very capable and inexpensive little print farm.
I mostly print in TPU so I wouldn't benefit from faster printing, but I want input shaping for the best possible print quality.

Quick note on leveling the gantry. Better than the built in system and better (and more accurate) than the soup can method is this method I found months back on RUclips:
    ruclips.net/video/lxdEzXS6AMU/видео.html
Home the Z, turn off the steppers, slide the head to the left extent, adjust the Z leadscrew until the light on the Z probe 'just' turns on, slide the head to right extent and do the same thing again. Then do it again (to the left, adjust the Z, to the right, adjust the Z) and that's it. I consistently get my gantry level within 0.02 mm side to side and it only takes about a minute.

Awesome first video. It was very easy listening, and the deep dive was perfect for the format. A few pointers: drop the BMG volume a bit, cut the exhales, and cut the laughs a bit later.

Great video. I got my 6 plus the other day and have been watching various videos on things to double check prior to printing. That Ohio State sign is awesome! Have you shared it anywhere? I would love to try the color swap and have that hanging on my wall.

I really cannot decide between this and the bambu a1 mini.
It'll be my first 3d printer and I feel the speed, features and easy of use of the bambu would be better valued over the build size.
I'm thinking perhaps I can split larger prints and glue them.
Really split though as for the past two weeks it's been the sv06 plus but now it's the a1 mini 😂

I just got my sv06 plus on Amazon , I had to return it and get a new one since it kept making weird noises. Anyway, I got my printer Sunday and so far it’s working fine. The a1 mini is too small. I would go with either this or the Neptune 4 max. Maybe even the Bambu x1c with ams or p1s with ams is that’s in your budget.

I love my SVO6, however I ran into the same issue with readjusting the bed leveling. I do recommend the paper method, I still don't have enough trust in the Z height built-in settings.

Am I missing something? I keep watching reviews to see if anyone mentions the file selection on the machine not showing folders on the SD card... I can't put any files in a folder or build any structure into the Card and have the machine see the folders?

In my experience I have never had any issues with the sd cards. I do use a different sd card than what came with the machine.

I’m not sure to be honest. Check the sovol website for any firmware updates. I haven’t personally updated anything yet but that doesn’t mean there isn’t something out there.

@4:09 you say there's only one motor for the Z axis.. but @6:23 there are 2 motors, one either side. Is one of them used for something else, they both look like they're attached to the treaded rods.
