The Best Way To Learn Your Windows 10 Shortcuts
==========================================
Shortcuts are the fastest way to double your productivity in Windows 10, but to do that, you need to learn the right ones.
So instead of trying to learn all your shortcuts at once (which can be extremely hard and frustrating), it’s better to start by learning shortcuts for the things you frequently do in Windows 10 first.
For example, if you are frequently trying to multi-task in Windows 10 between applications or between virtual desktops, how to split your screen between two documents, using the multitasking view to find files you’ve recently worked on, using windows search to find your programs and system setting, etc., these are the shortcuts you should focus on learning first.
That will not only speed up everything you are currently doing in Windows 10, it will also build up your confidence in learning and using more shortcuts, making it easier to learn more in the future.
Properly learning your Windows 10 shortcuts is just like learning a foreign language. Instead of trying to learn the whole language all at once, instead, start small - building up your vocabulary - before moving onto to new words and phrases.
Mega useful! Thanks a bundle!
Thanks Erica, glad you found that useful. It's always fun to add more shortcuts to your arsenal that can save you even more time :). Cheers!
Thanks. I love how you accompany the hot keys with actual demos unlike most other videos on yt on the subject
Thanks! Yes... a shortcut without a demo is often times not very helpful. Glad you enjoyed it

I think is video is the best video because it helps me a lot on my pc special that I have window 10 and I need to use the shortcuts to make it easy than using my mouse a lot. The shortcuts will make a difference when you are doing important and when you are in a rush to leave for anything!!
Yes! The more of these shortcuts you can remember and use, the faster you will become. Glad you enjoyed the video! If you ever need to refresh yourself with the list without having to watch the video, I wrote these all out in a blog post here: nutsandboltsspeedtraining.com/powerpoint-tutorials/windows-10-keyboard-shortcuts/
Thank you so much for this wonderful video, I like how you put it straight. These shortcuts are really helpful to save a bunch of time 👍
For German viewers: Right-click your taskbar, then hit...
#12&13 (12:02) Replace 'D' with 'N' to cascade (I don't know how to uncascade, when you press 'R' you still have to hit enter)
#14 (12:44) Replace 'E' with 'S' to show windows stacked (note that you can also press 'E' to show them in another grid)
Thanks for adding those additions for the German keyboard, super helpful! You are the man.
@@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining You're welcome ;)
I also enjoy using Ctrl + Windows + D to create a new virtual desktop and Ctrl + Windows + F4 to close it. Even more powerful when you combine this with the shortcut you've showed: Windows + (#8).
@@Splines Yes... both good additions to the list. That's always the trouble when making a list of shortcuts... you can't show them all :). Happy New Year and keep up the good shortcut work! 🚀
I bought a new laptop and I came from a Mac so this video helped me a lot. Thank you so much!

Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment! If you ever want to quickly review the shortcuts, I cover all these windows 10 shortcuts in the following blog post: nutsandboltsspeedtraining.com/powerpoint-tutorials/windows-10-keyboard-shortcuts/
I prefer a 1 time click with the mouse over memorizing most of these shortcuts. Although there are a few like win+search and alt 2x click that are a bit more convenient. Thanks for the vid
Thanks for the comment and no worries. Just keep in mind that shortcuts are the fastest way to double your productivity in whatever program you use most. So the more familiar you can get memorizing shortcuts to the point that they become second nature to you, the faster you will become at everything you do on your computer.
Hello Sir, awesome video!
Quick question: how do I quickly switch tabs on google chrome? Thank you in advance!!!
In Chrome, you can hit the TAB key to scroll forward through your tabs and SHIFT + TAB to scroll backwards through them.
you can do switch chrome tabs by.....
CTRL+
REGARDS,
JENIL ITALIYA
Thanks for adding that extra shortcut, I didn't realize you could do that. LOVE IT!
Regarding number 6. If you press Alt+Tab and hold the ALT down you can then cycle through and select the application in the list by pressing tab.
Great addition, thanks! Yes, that is a great way to cycle through the programs you are switching between, to find the one you want to switch to.
Please do an in-depth tutorial on split screns and multiple desktops from scratch. I.e before all documents are opened. I normally have to reference tons of materials from various shared folders/emails at work and think mastering this would help a lot
I will add that to our RUclips queue, thanks for the suggestion.
in browser if you click ctrl+1 or 2 or3 you can switch between any of your tabs instantly.
good!
Glad you enjoyed the shortcuts, thanks for the comment!
Very good information. I'm not a wiz with computers and technology, but am trying to get better. Can't figure out how to download a copy of the 25 techniques to my printer. Can you help me out???
You should be able to download the PDF to your computer and then hit Ctrl + P to print it to your computer.
Another Important shortcut: Hit the like button and subscribe because this is the greatest tutorial on windows 10 so ever created!
To find a shortcuts location on your PC computer, press
right click on the shortcut/ open file location
That is a great way to find folders on your computer by first searching for a file that you know is in that computer. I use that all the time myself :)
Mouse Click and Shake Window is something I learned today.
Hoping these shortcuts will improve my productivity
The more shortcuts you learn, that faster you will become. I also wrote these all up in the following blog post if that is easier to digest them. nutsandboltsspeedtraining.com/powerpoint-tutorials/windows-10-keyboard-shortcuts/
@@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining Thanks for the link, friend. I'm finding these shortcuts very useful, especially the alt+tab to switch recent windows.
*Tip:*
Need a quick reference until you get used to the shortcuts? Make your desktop picture your reference sheet.
Google images "Windows 10 Shortcuts"
Make your favorite image you desktop background.
Look through the images, there are some really good ones and some not so good.
That is a good tip, thanks for sharing!
21. alt+up to go up a level
23. alt+enter also works
didn't know about alt+P though, thanks
Should have started with tip #5 lol. Great video.
Thanks for the feedback :). I went back and forth on the sequence numerous times. Cheers!
Alt + Tab is one of the most common shortcuts next to the cut 'n' paste Shortcuts.
If he started with such a common shortcut, impatient power users may have skipped the video and gone to the next one.
@@janX9 You're probably right. What I meant by "start with number 5" was that way right from the beginning those who didn't know this shortcut could follow along whilst navigating quickly to the cheat sheet and video without having to pause it. That being said I don't blame anyone for my incompetence or lack of knowledge lol. Learned a lot from this one!
@@justbeingreal2299 oh good idea! You make good point. I understand what you meant now.
Also, just a tip to help you learn these faster. Download a picture from Google of Windows 10 keyboard shortcuts and make it your desktop picture.
Or, just a general handy life tip. Take a picture of your calendar monthly and make it your desktop picture, you never miss an appointment again!
hey your pdf shortcuts file link is not really working :( Great video however
18:58 You can use ALT and UP to jump up a directory though
Thanks for the added shortcut!
Hi can you give me shortcut key of math type in Windows 10
But I know in Windows 7 that is alt++
That should still works in PowerPoint and Word. Alt + + inserts the equation object. After you insert your equation, if you select yoru equation and hit Alt + + a second time, it will convert all of your symbols back into normal text. Check out my blog post for all of your options: nutsandboltsspeedtraining.com/does-not-equal-sign/
I use a free program called ShortKeeper that can trigger any windows shortcuts plus any other shortcuts that you want to create by using your own custom hotkeys which makes it easier to trigger and much more powerful!
I've heard of that before but have never used it. Glad to hear that is working out well for you!
31 comments only?? U deserve more bro
Thanks PC Nation! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for helping to spread the word.

Asked for the Top 25 Windows Shortcuts That Save Time (Windows 10) PDF and never received them.
Sorry about that (not sure what happened). Send me an email at taylor (at) nutsandboltsspeedtraining.com and I will send it to you as an attachment. Just put top 25 Windows shortcuts as the subject and I will send them to you.
When I'm on school on the laptops I always do a bunch of random letters then ctrl a then spam ctrl i
very gud info sir.But i didnt get the pdf to my mail.
We are having trouble with our website at the moment. Here is a link to download it directly from Google Drive (sorry about that). drive.google.com/file/d/1mu7LgqKhEtrlpSIvINzQvqH-9mcVjArF/view?usp=sharing
@@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining Thank you sir. I got it👍
bro alt+f4 is not working ... what to do?
When you hit F4 on your computer, what happens? If it triggers one of your media keys, that means your function keys are flipped. You will either need to Lock your FN keys, hold down the FN key when you use that shortcut or flip them in your BIOS.
Nice video, but try to not say "You can download this pdf about the shortcuts you can use ".
Were you not able to get the PDF? We just recently did a site migration and everything got messed up. You can directly download the cheat sheet using the link below. drive.google.com/file/d/1mu7LgqKhEtrlpSIvINzQvqH-9mcVjArF/view?usp=sharing
@@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining No I mean that in this video, you guys said "You can download this pdf about the shortcuts you can use " so many times. Try not to say it every 2 mins. Overall nice video
U have stop uploading more new ppt short cuts
Is there a new PowerPoint shortcut you are looking for? My new favorite is CTRL+SHIFT+F10. Open a couple of presentations on your computer and try it out... it's pretty cool 🚀
Desktop short writing
Was that a question, or was that something you are suggesting I should have covered. I wasn't clear on your comment.
Windows 10 shortcuts: Windows 1-9
Windows 1 through 9 are EPIC. Love those. You can do the same thing in Microsoft Office using the ALT key too. See Top shortcut #25 in the post below (setting up the Alignment tool as an Alt, 1 shortcut). nutsandboltsspeedtraining.com/powerpoint-tutorials/powerpoint-keyboard-shortcuts-to-save-time/
um i think yt broke their own app this video IS SUPPOSE GET TO GET OVER A BILLION views bro
I need your help for it to go viral :). Not a lot of people searching for how to shortcut windows yet (sadly).
I'll show to my friends! This helped me get on Discord and Roblox tab really fast!
i could cascade but i could not un cascade my window tabs
That's weird that you weren't able to cascade. Maybe another program is blocking it... what I call program troll. You can check out my blog post to see if that is the issue. nutsandboltsspeedtraining.com/powerpoint-tutorials/keyboard-shortcuts-not-working/
Linux had this years ago
I didn't realize that, thanks. And I guess that makes sense. Take what is already working on another platform and add it to your own.
For searching please use search everything which is way faster than Windows indexing files all the time and storing stupid stuff
Thanks for the tip. By search everything you mean using the Windows key search, correct? Not the file folder search?
@@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining the program called "search everything". It indexes way faster. As soon as u plug a drive even my 12tb it indexes in seconds
Even the source code is available. So you can manipulate it as you want
Thanks for all the great feedback. I definitely won't be manipulating any source code on my end :). Cheers!
Thank you so much Sri Harsha!
great but way to fast,,,
I'm working on that speed... apologies for the speed.
Not on my windows 10 laptop.
None of those Windows shortcuts worked on your labtop? Do you have a European keyboard by chance?
aseemoe
did you realy just waste 2 mins of my life explaining that the windows search bar searches windows??? give me a break im out.
No sweat. You would be surprised at how many people don't know about that yet, and how it is different than the File Folder search (which I explain later in the video).
@@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining bruu windows 10 been out for like what seem like half a decade, if they dont know they shouldn't be using a computer
