    Moss is what I, myself, would live and die on. Moss is a living life-force. Its the most underrated plantform. ♡

    my humidity drops insanely quick! i spray the tank often due to this but i’m worried my snake will get scale rot or other illnesses if the substrate is damp. i don’t leave it with puddles or anything. i notice you douse the walls and most of the enclosure. this is my first snake so i’m kind of nervous. how much is too much?

    my sphag moss develops white mold it seems even when using distilled water. what does this mean and what do i do?

    • @Lovell93
      @Lovell93 7 месяцев назад

      I would use spring water... don't use distilled. And maybe change the brand of moss you're using. It shouldn't be molding super quick. What I would do is soak the moss in a bowl, ring it out, then place some around the tank. You don't want it to be drenched.

    • @kevinahearn8764
      @kevinahearn8764 7 месяцев назад

      @@Lovell93 thanks. why not distilled? thought it would help prevent mold. i dont put it in the drinking water

    Now some people say not to stay the inside on the side and spray the substrate bc if u spray it on the said bacteria can grow. How do u feel about that?

    How did you take care of the moss itself ? Doesn’t the moss need to sit on something rather than just the bottom of the tank ? And where did u buy the live moss ?

    • @samkush__3051
      @samkush__3051 2 года назад

      Or cleaning the moss if the snake urinate or poop

    • @JeremyGoneWildPets
      @JeremyGoneWildPets  2 года назад +1

      @@samkush__3051 the moss is sitting on the substrate. I have a variety of soil and wood chips mixed together. Also this is a bioactive enclosure and I have a cleanup crew in here to deal with the waste. I do spot clean poop when I see it but the springtails and isopod take care of most of it. If you’re not familiar with bioactives look them up. Interesting stuff.

    Hey. So in my experience and research, it’s my understanding that Misting in a BP enclosure is not actually good because it causes high spikes of humidity which can cause respiratory infections. What has your experience been with this?

    • @xaserizm
      @xaserizm 2 года назад

      thats false respiratory infections are caused by bacteria due to high humidity in unclean enclosures.

    • @tamaramilasinovic2615
      @tamaramilasinovic2615 2 года назад

      bps are originaly from africa, so, they are not for high humidity levels, infections could kill them

    • @therealemo9045
      @therealemo9045 Год назад

      My ball python is in a bioactive tank, I just water his soil for the plants and that is enough for him. I have never had any problems. Ball pythons are also very resilient. 45%-65% is a humidity range I think they can do well in.

    • @anonymoose116
      @anonymoose116 10 месяцев назад

      @@tamaramilasinovic2615 Actually, they're from sub-saharan African, which is a tropical climate. Humidity is key for them.

  • @alecray3365
    @alecray3365 10 месяцев назад

    You don’t spray a Ball Python enclosure. You add moisture by dumping water in small anoints in one or two small sections. Also, you have no clutter for your snakes. You need to think of the inportant stuff as well as the new.
