Your work and dedication is amazing. I have never seen anyone in more urgent need of a 3D printer though. Please, please get yourself one. Not to replace what you're doing, but to build on it.
Hey Thankyou for the compliment! However I strongly disagree, no tool is urgently 'needed'. It's the very limitations of my tools that brought this level of creativity out of me in the first place. And there is a unique charm to hand drawing and making everything with paper, it's all one of a kind. I don't need a 3D printer.
I completely agree that working within strict constraints is the best way to develop yourself as an artist, I do the same thing at times, but like training for a marathon by strapping weights to your ankles, it isn't until you lift those constraints that you will realise your true potential. Don't worry, every medium has it's own set of limits. The art of making action figures is going through a renaissance period at the moment, so sure - you don't "need" to do anything, but when I see what you can do within the limits you have set yourself, it's easy to see you have so much potential that the world will be a poorer place if you decide to never lift those limits. :) edit: for inspiration, one of the best printed ball joint dolls around: ruclips.net/video/t0PhdMO2czA/видео.html
I feel this Channel with Skyrocket if you set up a system to where people ship you supplies to build them a custom action figure and ship them the finished product back I love this idea you've constructed out of just paper glue sticky tape and creativity.
OMG OMG OMG, *I WANNA TRY AND DO THIS GOODNESSSSS* I’ve tried making paperclay bjd dolls a couple times, so I’ve made dolls in general before, but this seems like more fun and less messy!
I've just stumbled across your channel and after watching something like 7 or 8 of your videos I must say - HOLY SHIT MAN! As someone who loves figures, statues, models, and toys; I am super impressed with the quality of the work you do, not just on an artistic level but on a technical level as well! Absolutely mind blowing! Keep doing what you are doing, brother!
very neat stuff your very creative i am making clay action figures and stumbled upon your stuff this is amazing i couldnt figure out how to do the articulation joints now my mind is becoming unglued lol, thank you
Dude you're soo underrated .. glad I found your video in my recommends ❤ I'm an artist too and also unfortunately it's hard to find action figures where I live 😂 I was thinking to make one of Bayek from AC origins using polymer clay but after seeing your videos I wanna do it using papers .. going to record the process of me discovering this new medium 😁 Could u make a tutorial for cloth cause Bayek or any AC character wears a lot of cloth u know 😂 Wish the best for u bro good luck 💪✌
This is an awesome tutorial! Creative and technical at the same time. I am inspired to start trying this! Kudos to you sir, you have an amazing talent and imagination!
You are so good! Love how it’s quality over quantity with your videos and you don’t rush them! You’re so much better now and your models are slowly looking more like real 3d models
Have you ever worked with polymer clay or perhaps sculpting wax? I realise that paper is the motive and it's by far more accessible and exciting as a medium. Its just that you are so talented when it comes to 3d visualization, I reckon if i gave you a block of clay, you would create a masterpiece so fast! I would attempt to build my own paper figure but i really struggle with symmetry.
a little bit in High School. I don't like it much though, my models are like moving comic drawings, and that's exactly what I want them to be. And there's things paper can do that clay and plastic can't, like superman's laser beams.
Which glue do u use bro. U really have a very unique talent. U deserve more attention . Whoever agrees with me please share his videos as much as possible.😊
How much are you willing to sell your paper figures for if you were to sell them? These paper figures are sooooooooooooo amazing! Wow ive never seen anything like it! my god you are an artist. Bravo, hats off to you!
Amazing! Have you consider scanning your drawings, colouring them on PC and then printing before cutting and glueing them together? I get that you love drawing but it would improve the "paint" quality
it's not a bad idea but it would take to long, since I make only one part at time and build it up from there, so I'd have to scan them individually. I think the 'paint' quality is already really good, manga artists use copic markers and that's the exact look I'm going for.
You could cut the raw parts then put them all on one sheet of paper, draw them all on it again and then scan, similar like you did with head tutorial with adding extra tape when you redraw sculp piece. This way the "blueprints" for your characters would remain safe on your hard drive as well. But anyway keep up good work, I'm looking forward to see more of it. Maybe try some female characters like others suggested ;)
Oh I would do that for the templates I want to make, and I love the idea of having them backed up on a hardrive! But I'm hand colouring and hand making everything, It's still the fastest and most enjoyable since I'm figuring half the stuff out as I go. I'm not following any strict plan or blueprint, it's all intuitive.
Loving your work! Amazing paper sculpting and colours👍🏼 would you ever consider taking orders? I’d love an Mf Doom or Quasimoto, again love ya work and keep it coming dude.
Awesome stuff. Just a random idea, but have you ever thought of doing figures from live action movies?? Would love to see a paper version of Statham or Stallone or even Schwarzenegger?? All the S's
the Kisame I was making I didn't get very far but I do intend to come back to him ... but right now I'm trying to make Naruto from Naruto The Last ... cuz that Naruto looks cool to me ... but from now on I'm most likely going to draw my character to the scale I want first cuz that seems like it would help out Alot lol
I stumbled upon your Chanel ,and I just want to say "thank you" for making me feel ... enlightened ,because I am kind of a creator of small artistic stuff myself ,I have some of my old works on my Chanel (please DONT check it out ,because they're so bad) ,and a while ago I started to make them again ,I finished my first project made out of polymers clay ,a demogorgon , and was kind of proud ,but I did not know if it was worth all the work ,then I started working on Wilson (don't starve) and I kind of gave up on it ,because I was scared that it won't look how I would like it to look ,but you gave me a lesson ,that I can learn from my mistakes ,so thank you again .
great question. I think what works best for me is breaking things down into basic shapes, with a flat front, side, top and back. And then I slowly just add small cuts to the paper to round off the edges and make it a bit smoother and more natural looking. and after years and year of doing this trial and error, I've been able to do this pretty intuitively without thinking too much. Basically I only ever do something one way once, and every other time I make some kind of variation, trying to improve in all areas possible.
@@micoeoft08 i never made one myself, but i respect the artistry/craftsmanship involved. Im an artist too, to me these look like a rly fun project similar to pepakura but much more thoughtful and indebt
I don't have the confidence to do this and the materials, however, I will try it soon and keep on trying to gain experience to do similar paper models.
I wonder how much sturdier and more defined your models would look if they were covered with thin layer (And I mean thin) layer of epoxy sculpt, or fevocryl mouldit. Please tell me if this would be an idea worth trying.
That's right, I'm a paperman. And I am slowly spreading my kind throughout the world disguised as 'toys' for a full scale takeover. Also, my benefactor is Elon Musk
I just love you bro I love your stuff I'm a good anime drawer ever since grade one I subscribe and followed love your stuff definitely will try to make one thank you so much for inspiring me 🎉 you're now one of my favourite youtuber ❤
Why don’t you monetize your videos? You’ll make some good money off of this. Also, someday, you should definitely make a quality how-to-make book of paper models with templates inside someday. I’d buy that in an instant!

The work u have done has perfection .
Whoa, that's cool I'm amazed that you can do this.
Please do more .. I love your videos
You should get some clear matte topcoat to spray on the finished models. This would help hide the shiny surface of the tape

What would you say is the best thing that makes you visualize a flat piece on a 3d shape that fits the desired proportion?
great question. I think what works best for me is breaking things down into basic shapes, with a flat front, side, top and back. PaperPatriot that actually helps, thanks for replying
Have u ever tried spraying your parts with hair spray (to stop ink from running) then spray them with laquer. Or u could just varnish with PVA glue.
Hola,... increíble!!!... gracias por abrir la mente!!..a poner en práctica!!.. saludos

I just thought of something you can do with the hands. To add depth to big hands, you could fold along the knuckles to make a zig zag shape.
yeah that's a very good idea
do you think you're ever going to do that
You’ll need to frame your figures soon. They’re beautiful art pieces. You gotta protect them and display them to your friends!
