I really appreciate that you haven't fallen into the temptation of posting clickbait. Solid content conveyed in a straightforward manner. Thanks!
Since 'stumbling' across your channel a few months ago, I now look forward each week to see what your doing this week. I like the fact that you choose projects that would also appeal to a lot of us out here. Thanks for all the good work and ideas.
It's nice to watch you solving problems the way many of us tackle their own. On most videos there are a view 'aha' moments. Thank you.
I just wanted to say I found your channel about two weeks ago and this is why I like 3d printing... Solving everyday issues. I prefer seeing people make things than just printing tchotchkes
I’m new to 3D Printing, my Bambulabs A1 mini has just arrived, and your channel is exactly what I need to learn about it. It’s great to wake up Saturday morning to a freshly baked video 😊
Congrats on the channel growth! Like I said before, functional prints are my favorite kinds of prints. I'll post my entry in the subreddit soon; it's a simple holder for my oxo kitchen scale.
I am new to 3D printing but so far I love it. I do wood furniture and I complement the piece of furniture. I like your videos because it highlights the possibilities of 3D printing 😊
The drawer layout works well & gives you room for expansion. The great thing about 3D printing is if you don't like it or it doesn't fit, you can change it & print out the changes.
I have used some of the processes you've shown in your videos on my own designs. Thank you for putting the successes and failures in the videos. I think I learn more from the failures.
I'm 69 and a total newbie to 3D Printing and 3D Design. As an old fart, I'm less interested in printing toys, and more interested in creating / fixing functional things, so this channel is right on target. I believe you will get many more folks coming to this channel, over time, because your content and approach to solving challenges fits right into our interest. I've just done my first 2 functional part designs in Alibre, after flunking out in FreeCAD, as it was totally illogical to me (I almost gave up). My motivation to finally jump into this was to fix something that was broken, which consisted of having to create 1 simple and 1 complex (to me) part. I struggled a bit with both 3D Design and Printing, but finally made some useable parts, and now I'm hooked. P.S. I'm not looking to win any prizes, so please don't consider me for that. I just wanted to express my appreciation for your channel and the motivation you provided to me to actually do something to solve a challenge instead of just thinking about it ( If I had a nickel for every hour I've spent thinking about things, I'd own Twitter (X?)).
Recently discovered your channel and enjoy the format, great depth and has helped me flesh out some of my own functional prints. Cheers to many more subscribers!
Congrats on the 15K🎉. Well deserved and I look forward to your next functional solution every week. 🎉 A couple of days ago I started working on my most complicated functional design so far and expect to have it completed in the next couple of days. I will be uploading to your Reddit when completed. Thanks so much for the inspiration…. it makes 3D printing so much more fun. 👍😎👍
That heat gun trick was really neat. As a 3D print newbie, it was a new insight. The content and style was great for me, and the fact that you are sharing the stuff on your website and have a channel to discuss the stuff in as well is really great, so I subbed as well 😊 Let's bring it to 20k 🎉🎉
I like the everchanging topics and admire the amount of prototypes you are printing.
I always try to print as little as possible.
I first saw the trick with white silicon letters on your channel :)
Love this channel; new to 3D printing and while many of your projects are above my skill level it does give me something to aim for and I learn a lot along the way. Have the deburring tool but really dig the mini heat gun! Thanks!
Congrats on 15k subscribers. I think your content is excellent and the length of the videos are perfect as you provide your thought process along the way. I won’t be entering the contest since I am not on Reddit and have no plans to be but good luck to all of those who enter.
Just found your channel last week and it is fun to watch. I like the regular content and practical applications of printing.
Congratulations on the first 15k subs. Well deserved and ONLY 1 benchy in all that time.
Congrats on 15k subs, always watch on a Saturday morning at the gym, not only do you help with designing you also help me get through 10k on the treadmill 😊
Congratulations on reaching 15k subs
I made a few boxes like this for a couple of my drawers. When I realized I wanted to divide a section down I modled and printed an insert (bottom 1mm and the desires dividers) that could slide into the already printed box.
I should get one of those deburing tools. A friend of mine had one and yes, it was amazing to use.
As for releasing stress in parts, I flash it with a mini blow torch. That works really well. I think that's because it's easy to control, rather then the temperature per say.
Good stuff as usual and good luck to anyone who wins.
Like those drawer organizers you made. Gave me some ideas for some of my drawers. Time to see if i can design some.
Congratulations on 15k subscribers. Still new to printing so haven't come up with any designs yet.
I’m liking the organization stuff you’re doing. I need to do similar but I get into analysis paralysis and put it aside. Watching your videos gets me thinking it’s time to finally start. (Oh, and I now use TPU for various things after having seen some of the many possibilities available from your videos.)
15k subscribers is exciting! congratulations!
@FunctionaIPrintFriday I'm excited! What's the goodie?!?!
Congrats on the 15K subs!
Thanks for all your videos
Congratulations on the subs! 🎉
i have one of those fixdry driers. works for me. i'm not sure about the temp accuracy, but it does get warm. i keep desiccant packs inside, and the filament does stay dry.
The deburring tool blades are handed, too. so if you want to use one lefty, get left-hand blades
You can buy left-handed deburing blades to fit the noga deburing tool. This can allow you to debur away from you if you really want to, though i personally dont believe it is necessary
Great video as always! Have you ever done a Sketchup tutorial? I would be really interested in that because you maximize the powers of Sketchup like I've never seen before.
Well on your way to 100k
7:07 congrats on your 15k subscribers
I love these videos
Every time you say "drill bit," some dark god of machinists awakens from his pit of molten metal and kicks a puppy.
I'm no machinist (my primary tool is a keyboard), what is the proper term in machinist lingo?
This is awesome!
Great job
Good job on the 15000
Cut some IKEA VARIERA rubber drawer liner in each section of the inserts to prevent scratches and rolling around.
I think I have that exact deburr tool! 😂
More big benchy!!!
I'm new to the channel but great content. It's a bit lengthy, but I'll see if I stay 😊 curious to see where this goes
Contest fun!!!!
That's funny. I have bought two Fixdry machines and they seem to work for me.
Congratulations on 15k subscribers, well deserved, you have an easy to listen to presenting style.
I have noticed in your videos there is no mention of materials used (for costing etc.) I think that might be useful. Also could the deburring tool be used left handed? lefties always seem to have to adapt to use equipment that is not designed for the ambidextrous among us. Having said that I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous ;-)
Two things, why not rotate your long cubby 90deg? It looks like it fits fine. Second when I was faced with the same problem I realized that I could have a much lower wall between my items than I originally thought while still keeping them pretty far from touching, then those back spaces are still accessible
I am totally new to 3d printing so like leaning what I can make and design with it and how to approach this
The few designs I made are highly specific, so I'll enter with a funny instead:
Q: Why did the Chicken cross the Road?
A: To show the Squirrels that it CAN be done!
Maybe just 3d print a "I" beam divider insert for the open divider boxes. save on re prints
How many functional prints can one post to the subreddit? It's hard to choose my favourite project... Also, is the competition open to those outside the US?
I found your site a few weeks ago and look forward to your weekly video. I to am not interested in the toys and knick knacks. I prefer to solve issues and fix broken objects with 3D printing and designing. While your videos are longer than most I appreciate your thoughts as to what your doing and why your doing it. Keep doing what your doing, your inspiring us all to look around us and visualize what we can improve upon not just fix.
11:00 wouldn’t you rotate the long ones 90degrees to get under the back lip thing?
11:35 why don't you let them go underneath the overhang?
Us lefties cut away with a deburring tool unless the blade is for lefties ;)
I am nowhere near smart enough to design stuff like this.
In my opinion, the videos are too long-drawn-out. It makes me lose interest/ focus while less than a third into the video
I do not mind long format videos
Negative Bot?
@@Wbmfishman1 why would I be a bot for the tiniest amount of criticism? Go outside for bit.
Watch at 1.5 speed
There's a scammer getting close to your channel with a capitol i instead of a lower case L in the user name. @functionalPrintFriday
