UPDATE ON THE PUB: The Hundred House Inn (a mile away via a walk through the farm) has only just been reopened after a two-year renovation, and the owner does welcome dogs and their owners and has made a special, warm, covered outside spot for them, with direct access to the pub, overlooking the garden and the beautiful Edw stream. It has just started serving food too, I hear that Sunday lunch is very good!
It is a fantastic site, the people are really lovely. They have some South African friends and I will be going back in the summer to have a “braai” which is a BBQ with them. They know a butcher and will get some meat, which is very good they say. When we have it, you should join us. 👍🤪
I’m not outdoorsy, I’ve never been a camper excluding a couple of caravan holidays as a child. You’re really inspiring me to the pod with a dog life and your videos bring me so much relaxation. Thank you
So glad to hear that you enjoy our videos. I do love travelling with my pod and dog, but it’s not all as relaxing as the videos make out. Moving to different campsites can be exhausting, I never know where I am so I’m always checking maps for everything, and the weather plays a bit part in affecting our day 😅 But I LOVE the freedom it gives me. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
You obviously chose the right time to visit that campsite, Roseanna. For £10 you cant go wrong nice to see its open all year, It looks superb, very quiet and peaceful and those walks look great. Love the video and have just added fforest Fields to my list.
We had a brilliant time at the site. Also (I didn't mention in that video), they also offer free wi-fi. So, yeah, £10 a night was a bargain! I don't think I'll find another site to match it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hi Roz and Winston, after enjoying your vlog we decided to book 3 nights at Fforest Fields with out little tourer and Grace our dog, when we arrived we said we had seen your vlog and the said we were the third lot of people to say they had come along at your recommendation but think there was a lot more, we got back today and have really enjoyed our stay so peaceful and relaxing and lovely people. I also find travel days to be stressful and draining. After 4 years of towing experience, I still don't enjoy towing much. Great vlog again, thank you Roz.
I don't enjoy towing, although I don't mind it. But I do prefer to drive my van without a caravan on the back 😂😂 There's a lot more to think about when towing. Anyway, thanks so much for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
As someone who has lived in Wales for many years, I can tell you that most of the 'A' roads are like the one you drove on, and any alternative route would probably have been no better. I have made the journey from Cardiff, following mainly the A470, all the way up to Llandudno many times. It is the most amazing drive for scenery but you can't do it quickly due to other traffic, 20mph speed limits through towns & villages, and that is the case for most of Wales. So don't worry about it, just drive and enjoy the scenery. I'm going to have to check out Fforest Fields later in the spring, once I have my new camper van as it looks like a nice place to spend a weekend. Keep up the good work with the videos. Love Winston and his propeller tail 😁😁
Thank you very much. I did wonder if it was just because I was in Wales and there wasn't much I could do about the route. We made it there and back in one piece, which is all that matters 👍🏼 Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Glad you enjoyed our video.

Hello. Glad to hear you enjoyed this one. Winston is still not 100% but he is walking much better and went out on his first lead walk this morning. A few more days and he'll back to normal 👍🏼 Thanks for watching and commenting.
What a cracking site! That has to be the best value I've seen in the UK. And little Winston got to stay off lead. Brilliant. Thanks for another enjoyable video
Lovely video and a super cheap site , a really good find . Also brilliant walk’s for you and Winston ( star of the show ) hahaha . Take care and thanks for sharing 👍
Glad you enjoyed our video. I keep trying to record more of my cooking, but I'm always so hungry that I just want to make it and eat 😅 Thanks for watching and commenting.
Brilliant video again thanks really enjoyed it,lovely walks I can’t believe how cheep it is this would br perfect for my little French bulldog and me,,we only have a tent now ,thanks for sharing take care 👍
Thanks for another nice video, the noise from your motor mover is probably gravel sticking in your tyre tread and then crunching as it passes through the roller, I have had this a few times on sites with fairly small size gravel. That site looks amazing for the price, good location too. 👍👍👍
There wasn't any gravel on the wheels. That was my first thought. Although it does make a similar sound to that, so I think some may be caught on the other side. The site was great, and the price made it even better! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Can’t wait to see part 2. Just found you. I stayed here a few years ago during a wet summer. I have a micro camper so I stayed in the big field. It was pretty quiet at that point. Facilities were great. I didn’t walk to the pub because they didn’t allow dogs inside. Interesting to see if they do now.
They still don't allow dogs. In part 2 I note that we weren't going to the pub for that reason. If I can't take my dog then I'm not going 😅 Thanks for watching and commenting.
Excellent...Motor Move...now that's really interesting 🤔...great humour throughout...good choice of music...if you like deep south...you might like Biddy Sullivan...keep swimming 😅
We love this site. But sadly had to cut our visit short in October, because i was so poorly. And so was my dog. The facilities are really lovely, so is the drying room, absolutely brilliant. And the surrounding area is, as you have found lovely to just have a good walk. Builth wells, is smashing, nice shops and café's. I agree about the local pub not being dog friendly. But the seven stars , not that far away, is dog friendly and the food is delicious 😋. I think you can walk to there too. Winston is just a gorgeous cutie 💕. Take care 😊
Really enjoyed part 1. It just goes to show there are bargains out there. Hope Winston hasn’t hurt his leg too badly but dogs are a worry though I have two. Part 2 next.
Glad you enjoyed Part 1. That campsite was a real little gem. I'm currently working on Part 2 which I hope to publish on Wednesday (fingers crossed). Thanks for watching and commenting.
Have stayed at this camp site some years ago and walked up the mountain with my dog Bella. Lovely area to explore. Walked to the pub, which was closed so can't comment about it. We sat outside and watched the red kites overhead.
On day 1 you were interested in the tiny apples. I the US in Michigan where I grew up, we knew them as Crab Apples. They are kinda sour when eaten from the tree. I think I remember them being make into pies though.
They are crab apples, there are some trees up the road from me and I grew baby crab apple trees… I’m in North Aberdeenshire so greetings from Scotland 🏴… hope the reversing is improving… bottom of steering wheel 😊
Thank you. Hopefully we're going to be back up in Scotland in May (although I've yet to book anything yet). Not sure if I've made much improvement on the reversing 🙈 I need more carparks to shut down like they do on Christmas day 😅 Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank so much! Sadly, I don't think I will be going back in the summer. I like my peace and quiet, so I don't think I'd enjoy a campsite that gets very busy with kids. Great for families, but not my cup of tea. Thanks for watching and commenting.
It was lovely!! In the video, I checked what the price would be if I stayed in August (peak season), and it was £17.50 per night 😱 Still an absolute bargain! Thanks for watching and commenting.
hahaha thank you. I'm never a fan of listening to myself speak. I don't think anyone is. 🙈 Glad you enjoyed our video. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Sounds like you got a good single person discount even so its still very good lovely pitch site and walks really enjoyed the video i prefer travelling in winter but even with single discount cheapest i have paid is 14 pounds with electric im definately going to visit this site thankyou
I’m new to the channel and enjoyed the video. What a great find. Love Winston’s propeller tail shows he’s a happy boy. We use co pilot app on our phone as you can put in dimensions of caravan and max speed Eric. Cost £25 pa but we find it much better than the car sat nav or google.
I have been looking for something exactly as you described!! Thank you so much, I'll definitely check it out! Glad to hear you enjoyed our video. Thanks for watching and commenting.

It’s really nice that you are showing your country. Because I will probably not camping in a country that have left side driving. I’m so scared about driving on the left side so I stick to right side countries. 😂
Eventually, I plan to travel the rest of Europe, but I'm nervous about driving on the right side of the road 😂😂 I guess we all just get used to one side 😅 Thanks for watching and commenting.
Interesting video as always and what a revelation that site is! I wasn't expecting a modern shower block as well as the shop and bar. Missrs, may I ask how you go about selecting your music to suit the mood and scenery? Cheers!
I have a subscription with Epidemic Sound where I can download copyright free music. I listen to snippets of lots of tracks and download about 20 random songs I kinda like. Then I import them into my editor and just randomly pick what I think will go with each chapter. Honestly, I try not to spend too much time on the music because I would never get any video finished if I did. Editing already take me a whole day. So, as long as the music kinda works, then I move onto the next part. Thanks for watching and commenting.
All apple trees do something called the 'fall/autumn drop' (windfall) where they essentially drop a large portion of the apples on the tree, thereby the remaining can get the energy to grow larger. Additionally, being Wales, it's likely been quite windy and there will be losses there too.
I found out they're crab apples; a mini variety of apple. There were no other apples on the tress, they were all on the ground but, like you say, that could have been wind 😅 Thanks for watching and commenting.
Prices have gone crazy recently!! Soon it's going to be cheaper to stay in a hotel! So this campsite was a refreshing find. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@Roz.S Hmm I whish my car was 4 wheél drive ... then it would be possible to go camping on icy and snowy roads here too ☺️ and yes it is very cheap ! In summer I camp a lot in Sweden, since I live near the border in south east Norway ... both South and north here is overcrowded in july and august 😋

Fantastic find....you will have to revisit this spot again. nothing better than a neat van and camper set up, a well behaved companion and a pretty lady
Thank you for sharing this site, think I may book it for next week. The question why are other sites so expensive, it seems since COVID too many campsites have got greedy with their pricing.
Hope you have a good time if you go! I've just booked a big scotland touring trip, and some of the campsite prices I've see have been crazy ...£65 per night crazy. £10 per night is the deal of the century! Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@Roz.S small world I'm touring Scotland starting hopefully next month your right on some sites I found on pricing but still gems out there . Depending on where your heading look at Badrallach bay £7.50 night plus £3 for car. Safe travels 👍
Hello. Yes, my pod has a motor mover, which means I can move it about with a remote control 👍🏼 It very useful for manoeuvring it or if I need to put it into a small space. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Since the camping/caravaning club sites don't allow our set up with two pop-ups for the boys and it's hard to find campsites that will via pitch-up we found all the campsites we used last summer on google and booked them all independently. They were all great sites and not too expensive at all for peak season. booking independently really isn't that scary ;-)
I am a member of the CCC, but I refuse to join the CAMC (not a fan of them), so I think this is what I am going to be doing this year 👍🏼 There are some great sites out there, they just take some finding! Thanks for watching and commenting.
You can get a front cover for Go Pods, but they protect only the front (like usual caravan towing covers). But I don't actually get much dirt on the front of the pod (my van has mud flaps) I get most of the dirt down the side of my pod, usually from passing traffic. As you say, this can't be helped at this time of year, so I'm just going to have to accept it and deal with it 😅 Thanks for watching and commenting.
It is cheap for sure we accept pricing to easy 20 ish a night in south Spain . I’m not fussed on electric put search and there is a few at similar prices around Barmouth but they are very basic ..great find I will certainly go and check this out , poor winst you talk to him like I do mine 😂 I to am hobbling around so we are a pair 😂 i think you must have maybe past my house as you traveled down you have 2 ways I think Whitchurch or Audlem if you went Audlem way you would have . I ruled out a GoPod think Trigano or Freedom either way certainly more room than my camper ,
I need the electricity so that I can work and run all of my tech. I always talk to Winston 😂 I'm certain he knows what I'm saying (kinda) Hope you're feeling better. It was this time last week when Winston hurt his leg and he's recovering well. I have no idea which way I went, I just followed the sat nav 😂 (I have a terrible sense of direction) Both nice little caravans. Whatever you think will work best for you 👍🏼 Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@lweleven3423 My pod has solar on the roof, but it's a bit naff, and I have a portable battery (like a Jackery) that I use if I have to be off grid which I've also got a solar charger for. But my pod doesn't run my fridge when off grid, so it's easier just to get a hook up 😅
Hi. I stayed at a campsite at the south end of Bala lake last may. Pitch Gravel, camper van 1 person, elec hookup, £ 9.00 per night!!!!!!! Apples on ground might be crab apples?
Great deal! I stayed on Bala last year. Paid over £30 per night for a pitch AND then had to pay 50p for 8min in the shower! I was not impressed 😅 Thanks, just Googled crab apples, never heard of them before. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Yes, but only when I'm ready to trade in my little van. I love my van more than my pod, but the van doesn't have a very large towing capacity, so Go Pod it is. Looks like an excellent site in a great location. I guess all the money you saved in site fees were spent on treats for Winston🐶😊. Did you have a repeat of the frozen water issues?
The nights went down to -6C 😱 so I actually disconnected my water and just put a container of water inside the caravan. It was a pain because it took up some of the limited floor space I have, but we managed. The campsite even turned the water off to some of their taps around the site (they would have frozen anyway), leaving a couple of taps on near the facility block that were super insulated and near heated rooms. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I don't know if it's family run. I just saw them at the NEC when I was looking at internet solutions. I didn't buy from the show; I came came home, had a think about it and then bought from online. Thanks for watching and commenting.
£10 is reasonable for a site with no amenities, I've paid £5 before for non electric but that same site now charges £15 (non electric). Most electric ones are around £22 now, I wouldn't pay more than £25.
This was £10 with an electric hookup, on a hardstanding pitch, and use of the facilities (toilets and showers etc). I’ve never had such a good value campsite 😱😱 It was great!!
Roseanna,Can you tell me the name of the walking app you used please,I can’t quite catch the name on the video. Once again, brilliant video and excellent editing.
Thank you so much. The app I use is called AllTrails. You can also use the desktop version to search for routes, here's the website - www.alltrails.com/ They have a premium version that gets you lots of extra features, but I manage with just the free version. What a cracking site! That has to be the best value I've seen in the UK. And little Winston got to stay off lead. Brilliant.

If I can't take my dog then I'm not going 😅

Take care 😊
Thank you! I'll bear all that in mind if we go back, and I think we will.

Have stayed at this camp site some years ago and walked up the mountain with my dog Bella. Lovely area to explore. Walked to the pub, which was closed so can't comment about it. We sat outside and watched the red kites overhead.
Sounds like you had a lovely time! 😀 There's loads of trails to explore, it's a bit of a walker paradise.

Not sure if I've made much improvement on the reversing 🙈 I need more carparks to shut down like they do on Christmas day 😅

Your video was excellent 👌
Thank so much! Sadly, I don't think I will be going back in the summer. I like my peace and quiet, so I don't think I'd enjoy a campsite that gets very busy with kids. Great for families, but not my cup of tea.

What a great find it looks beautiful there. January, a cold and quiet month maybe thats why its so cheap... What a gem tho ❤❤
It was lovely!! In the video, I checked what the price would be if I stayed in August (peak season), and it was £17.50 per night 😱 Still an absolute bargain!

First dawg I've ever seen that's rear fuselage propeller driven?
Good in a "dog fight"!!🙊
All apple trees do something called the 'fall/autumn drop' (windfall) where they essentially drop a large portion of the apples on the tree, thereby the remaining can get the energy to grow larger. Additionally, being Wales, it's likely been quite windy and there will be losses there too.
I found out they're crab apples; a mini variety of apple. There were no other apples on the tress, they were all on the ground but, like you say, that could have been wind 😅
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Crabby apples. They are small and very bitter
I wish this site was a bit closer to us, sounds amazing !!

How good is this campsite! 👍 I’m in Dorset and there are places around here that are charging £50-£60 a night, really greedy if you ask me.
Prices have gone crazy recently!! Soon it's going to be cheaper to stay in a hotel! So this campsite was a refreshing find. Thanks for watching and commenting.

What a cute little, Also I saw you with a remote moving the van, is that correct? Viewing from Australia

Could you get a cover to protect the front from the road grime, in the winter you are going to get this no matter where you go
You can get a front cover for Go Pods, but they protect only the front (like usual caravan towing covers). But I don't actually get much dirt on the front of the pod (my van has mud flaps) I get most of the dirt down the side of my pod, usually from passing traffic. As you say, this can't be helped at this time of year, so I'm just going to have to accept it and deal with it 😅
Thanks for watching and commenting.
I always talk to Winston 😂 I'm certain he knows what I'm saying (kinda)
Hope you're feeling better. It was this time last week when Winston hurt his leg and he's recovering well.

@@Roz.SI use solar and a power bank lasts 3 days without sun I may upgrade my power bank for my new van

Would you ever consider a conventional size caravan? The Go Pod looks lovely? Great vid again.
Yes, but only when I'm ready to trade in my little van. I love my van more than my pod, but the van doesn't have a very large towing capacity, so Go Pod it is. Once I get a vehicle with a bigger towing capacity, then I'll get a bigger caravan, but I'm keep my van for a little while longer 👍🏼

Is Winston fitted with a tail or a propeller?
😂😂
Looks like an excellent site in a great location. I guess all the money you saved in site fees were spent on treats for Winston🐶😊.
Did you have a repeat of the frozen water issues?
The nights went down to -6C 😱 so I actually disconnected my water and just put a container of water inside the caravan. It was a pain because it took up some of the limited floor space I have, but we managed. The campsite even turned the water off to some of their taps around the site (they would have frozen anyway), leaving a couple of taps on near the facility block that were super insulated and near heated rooms.
