Okay John...I'm going through every one of your cookie recipes and making them all for the holidays!! I feed the homeless and I try to surprise them with something new every Christmas so this will be it!
Oh that’s just so sweet. 😊😊❤❤ I definitely want to do that too but I’m too young but I love baking so when I’m 18 I’ll bake and give my food to the homeless and who needs it ❤❤
John, as a Retired Baker of 30 plus years, I have to tell you, your Teaching Skills are "Top Notch"!! With that "Smile and Bits of Humor" You are "No.1" in my book!! I have even learned a Thing or Two from you. Ordering your Book this Afternoon. Bless you and your Family and "Embrace Life"!!
Ingredients: 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons (8g) baking power 3/4 teaspoon (4.5g) salt 1 3/4 cups (350g) white granulated sugar 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil or olive oil 4 eggs 1 cup (100g) cocoa powder 1/2 teaspoon or a pinch of espresso powder (optional) 2 teaspoons (10ml) vanilla extract (optional) Icing sugar Pop it in the oven 350°F (180°C) for 10-12 minutes
I was really struggling with this cookie. The recipes I was using involved melting chocolate with butter. There was good flavor , but the cookies would spread and flatten way too much, no matter how long I refrigerated the mix. This recipe was easier and they turned out perfectly. The key is the resting overnight in the fridge. Another good trick is to wear food prep gloves and spray the palms with a touch of cooking spray. That made it so easy to ball them off the scoop and also allowed the powdered sugar to stick. FABULOUS results. Thank You.
Sugar Geek Show I just made fermented sauerkraut. It called for Salt 2% of the weight of shredded Cabbage. I did not have to smuggle measuring cups across the Wall at our Southern Border! 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🚪🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹
I was born and raised in Germany and didn’t know about the cups till I arrived here. 30 years later they still make no sense. I always use a scale. It gets ridiculous when it’s odd things as fours cups of green beans, etc. I have tried to explain the concept of cups to friends and family and it leads to endless discussions about what a cup size is and why in the world you wouldn’t own a scale 😂
Hi John yes surely I will make this with my grandchildren when im visiting them i always brings this to them as a pasalubong but now you posted this vedio of making this i will bring the ingredients and we will bake it together. Thanks to you ❤❤❤😊
I promised myself I'd come back here and thank you if my cookies turned out good. So, Thank you so so so much!!! They were absolutely amazing. Like I'm so proud of them. I used olive oil and I swear I was scared all night that they wouldn't taste good. But now here I am typing this with a whole ass cookie in my mouth!! I'm so greatful for this recipe. Thank you so much ❤️❤️
John, I made these for the first time, using the olive oil. I was sceptical about using the olive oil but you were right, they were delicious. I used two teaspoons to scoop out the chilled batter and roll into the powder sugar to form the balls. I did not have to wash my hands between cookie trays in and out of the oven. My new favorite. I always introduce a new cookie to my tray each year. Thanks for this delicious treat.

I made these today. They are addictive! I found using a small ice cream scoop onto waxed paper and putting into freezer for a few minutes then dropping into confectioners sugar and if needed shape into more of a ball. Most didn’t need the extra shaping. Dough was way too soft even after overnight in refrigerator. May try putting dough into freezer for a short time before making balls, method used today worked.

Good Morning and "Thank-You" for the terrific tutorials on baking and cooking. For these cookies I put Peppermint candies and powdered sugar in the cuisinart and blended. But before I rolled them I placed a peppermint swirled chocolate kiss in the center. I found if I chilled them for about 30 minutes, then bake , they came out perfect. Just another variation on a great recipe.

Hi John! I've been making these cookies for my family and friends lately and they have been a hit! My only issue that I've noticed is that whenever they are left out to cool after baking, even for just 10 minutes, they start to dry out a bit. So exited this is a non dairy recipe! Hurray! Question - can the dough be frozen? if so what would the procedure be defrosting? How long can it stay in the freezer for? It could be great to see more and more dairy free food you make!
Hello. This is my childhood favorite! Thankyou for sharing this, i just baked mine and my baby loves it. Thankyou again and have a great day! Greetings from 🎌🇵🇭
Hi there. I made your recipe, and it's so delicious seriously. My family likes it. I lesser 1/4 cup of your sugar measurement coz my significant other is diabetics so he can eat too. It came out just right. Thank you so much.
Ahhhhh came back to say we made this and they came out so good!! We added chocolate chips and then To the powder we added cocoa powder, cinnamon, and crushed candy canes 🤤🤤🤤 and DONT throw away the excess powder- mix with warm milk for hot chocolate! 👌🏻👌🏻 thanks for this recipe! I’m making these for gifts as well!!
I have made these (similar recipe) cookies and they are a Family favorite. I used to get so frustrated when rolling the cookies between my hands w/ the 'accumulation' of leftover chocolate dough on my hands - - so messy. Now I don a pair of latex gloves and give them a quick spritz of vegetable oil spray. No more mess!!! These are delicious cookies! Thanks!
These look SO good, I think I am going to make these for my little grandsons for Christmas. They love to cook and will certainly be curious as to how I made them look like that. Haha
Had to make these, got an advent calender from my dear grandma today, and really couldn't get these cookies off my mind. My mom would make them every year for Christmas, all I remember is cold snow, disney movies, and hot chocolate crinkle cookies. These cookies were so fluffy, and beautiful, and tasted just like I remembered, seeing my kids eat them made me want to cry ❤
I have been making these for years the recipe is a very old meaning the copy I have is from the 50's. It's slightly different ingredients, mine starts firmer and its a double chocolate. It is a delicious cookie!
I LOVE THESE COOKIES THEYRE SO GOOD!!! A tip my mom always had me do was to spray my hands with cooking spray and it helps the chocolate dough from sticking to your hands for a bit. It’s not perfect they just stick because the heat from our hands melt them a bit, but just a tip
In school we called these "Earthquake" cookies due to the cracks created by the expansion when cooking. The only difference between the recipes is that we would merengue the whites with sugar to add more loft and crunch to the outside crust. Very cool to see this, thank you!
Just got done making the batter. Cant wait to bake them tomorrow Update: These are so good and fudgy. They are best warm from the oven. Will make these again.
Omg. Made these a few days ago. Managed to get a batch of 30. They lasted 2 days !!!! In the end I was making them ice cream crinkle cookie sandwiches which my daughter loved. Thank you so much for sharing these amazing recipes. You are now my official go to person for anything sweet, and I get so excited when I see you have posted a new video xxxxx
I am making these right now and I had trouble rolling it in my hand, it would melt😕 but it does help to use a 1/2 tablespoon and a teaspoon and roll it with that and drop it in the powder sugar and finish the roll in the powder sugar. DELICIOUS 😋 now to finish making the last batch😁
I have heard these are very hard to make and come out looking right. Although the process is definitely messy this recipe turned out perfect and they look just like the picture!
where were these a few days ago!!! i made a martha stewart recipe for chocolate crinkle cookies and they turned out so thin and flat 😭 will definitely try these next time!!!
A tip to avoid 'shrapnel' from your cracked egg ending up in your bowl is, to always crack your egg on a flat surface. Avoid cracking the egg on the edge of the bowl. I can't take credit for this tip I got it years ago from Alton Brown. I loved his scientific approach to cooking. You remind of him a lil bit. Thanku for another great and entertaining video recipe! 😊 🍰

So exited this is a non dairy recipe! Hurray! Question - can the dough be frozen? if so what would the procedure be defrosting? How long can it stay in the freezer for? It could be great to see more and more dairy free food you make!
Your so pleasantly natural in presenting your recipes - don't ever change!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 Love from Motown
Thank you so much.
thank you so much for the recipe
i tried it and it tasted SOO good!! I hope you have a good day and more recipes to come 😊😊
Ahhhhh came back to say we made this and they came out so good!!
I added a little bit of cinnamon, it tastes amazing.
Tried your recipe, the cookie turned out yummy cookies!! SO easy. I used avacado oil.

Haha
😉
Had to make these, got an advent calender from my dear grandma today, and really couldn't get these cookies off my mind. My mom would make them every year for Christmas, all I remember is cold snow, disney movies, and hot chocolate crinkle cookies. These cookies were so fluffy, and beautiful, and tasted just like I remembered, seeing my kids eat them made me want to cry ❤
Christmas time! Who's here to make Christmas chocolate crinkle cookie!?🙋🏻♀️
Cant wait to bake them tomorrow
Update: These are so good and fudgy. They are best warm from the oven. Will make these again.
I loved your naturalness and how you explain the recipe, subscribed!
You should definitely make a lemon crinkle cookie recipe!!
Those cookies are a dream! They're definitely on my must-make-list for Christmas now!
Did anyone else notice the window in the background ? Lol he must’ve gotten up super early to bake these cookies. #dedication
Most of the time I stay up till 2 a.m. decorating Christmas cookies. But they always end up so unique it's worth it.

Omg they look so delicious love his recipes he needs to have his own cooking channel love you so much
I am making these right now and I had trouble rolling it in my hand, it would melt😕 but it does help to use a 1/2 tablespoon and a teaspoon and roll it with that and drop it in the powder sugar and finish the roll in the powder sugar. DELICIOUS 😋 now to finish making the last batch😁
I'm not even going to make a pun, those just look so amazing! Besides the cookies are already cracking up! 😉
😉👍

Relationship goals: making your marriage work despite cookie incompatiblity!
I have heard these are very hard to make and come out looking right. Although the process is definitely messy this recipe turned out perfect and they look just like the picture!
Just made these for my team and they were so excited! I already have a request for a second batch as a Christmas gift. Thanks!
These have my favorite texture. A slight crisp followed by chewy, soft fudge.
Long time lurker, just wanted to say thank you for your lovely videos!
I made this over the past 2 days. Not only are they beautiful, but easily the best cookie I've ever made ! it's killer ! and easy too .. Thanks man

👍
I’ve been doing this for 2 years and a half and when I tell you it’s amazing it is!
Literally, my daughter said, "what the heck, this is just liquid, how can it be a cookie?" when we made it. :)
My favorite cookie.. got my dough chilling. Hopefully they’ll be amazing! Love your vids! Keep it up!
Hope you love them!!
@@PreppyKitchen My cookie dough seems to be grainy...is there any way to fix it or will the sugar melt when placed in the oven please help me with this
I just made them. I must say they are very messy to make. They are yummy. I think they are so nice looking too. Kinda Christmassy. Thank you.
Don’t let the sweet smile and demeanor fool you, John is held hostage to make desert. His nefarious spouse is pulling all the strings. 😂
I've been making chocolate crinkle cookies just like this since I was 11 years old and my Mom had the Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book! They're a family tradition every year during the holidays ❤
That sounds like a wonderful tradition!!
@@PreppyKitchen it is John and thank you so much for sharing all of your wonderful recipes with all of us.
Love from Myrtle Beach, SC ❤
These look soo good 🤤 mine are in the fridge ! I can’t wait to bake them tomorrow 😄 I love your recipes because they are so simple and amazing sooo thank you !
Dec. 9th, 2020 I made these today and they are more than delicious. Somehow the words "lush and decadent" seem appropriate. Easy to make and they look exactly like your pictures. I did refrigerate the dough overnight as suggested. Thank you so much for this recipe and so many of your others that I have tried. Merry Christmas John.
I literally have never measured flour when I’m cooking. Maybe that’s why I’ve had a few fails and why my cookies never spread
Might be!
I've always measured my flour. But I grew up in Europe.
Weigh it instead. Much more accurate.
@@PreppyKitchen i m big fan of ur cookies.
Now i have a question?
Can i use melted butter in this cookies?
Long time, first time. Use your recipes all the time. Thanks for your work.
