In the Hazbin hotel when sinners die and go to hell, their appearance will be determined by a number of factors like how they died, what they looked like when they were alive, and their overall power level as well.
In series 1 we found out the same thing happens when people go to heaven, except they’re called winners instead of sinners. They all have halos above their head, and some winners appear human, while others resemble sinners. They also tend to have golden eyes and blood.
In episode 8 we saw sir pentious get redeemed and appear in heaven. Once he gets redeemed, his appearance changes slightly, featuring a gold and white color scheme. His goggles become love hearts, and his hat loses its mouth.
Overall heaven seems extremely cool, so i’m interested to learn why some of the winners look so different from their counterparts in a future episode.

The angels that look human might be born there, similar to imps and hellhounds in hell, while the ones that look like sinners are probably humans that died and went to heaven

I've noticed that the angels' outlines tend to be incredibly light. Even Vaggie has slightly lighter lines than Charlie and the other sinners, who all have straight black linework.

I like how when I saw people talk about sir pentious getting redeemed, the first comment I saw was "sir repentious"
His name is also close to 'penitent,' which is "feeling sorrow/regret for having done wrong," which is a synonym for repentant. I honestly feel like it was implied by his name that he might be the first sinner to be redeemed, even if that wasn't the first plan for his role in the show.

I'm so glad most of the people in Heaven are actually good, and it just seems to be the Exorcists who are jerks. Even Sera who approved of the extermination was heart broken over it. Makes things more interesting that they're not all self righteous or rude like Adam and Lute.

Sir Pentious design seems to have been slightly altered to fit the Angel theme but also from how he died in hell
He professed his love for Cherri right before dying, his new design therefore includes more hearts, such as the goggles, bow tie and pattern on the back of his head
Continuing on that note, maybe redeemed sinners will have their design alter to fit the reason they were redeemed

I think they meant “hair,” referring to his snake hood thing that’s part of his head
It’s also worth noting that sir pentious loses the eyes on his frill being replaced with red diamonds on the tips as detail and his frill look like wings. And we can’t really tell but the eyes on his tail could also be gone and replaced with red diamonds but until season 2 we will see if he has them or not.
I dont think they are diamonds but rather kiss marks, as a reminder of what he did just before dying

I think that the more inhuman a Winner looks, the closer they were to ending up in Hell instead, while the most human-looking Winners lived lives mostly free of sin. Would explain why Sir Pentious still looks very snakey even with the color swap, as well as explain Mollie, who looks very spidery still - at one point in canon pre-Amazon, I believe she was supposed to have died of a drug overdose, same as Angel did.
Ooh, that makes sense. And maybe more humanoid Sinners were closer to ending up in Heaven, but just didn't make the cut. (Maybe Carmilla. She's pretty humanoid and she's honestly not too bad if you ignore the weapons dealing and soul owning. She's not a rapist or a genocidal maniac or a predator or anything of the like.) Whereas more animalistic or bestial sinners (like that one overlord with the skull and blue fire) were worse.
But I guess it depends. Alastor is pretty humanoid and he was a serial killer.
(But he might have slight shape shifting abilities, and it's possible he's suppressing his true form like Charlie does.)
My guess was that Winners could choose and weren't forced into an animal form because if I recall correctly the animal forms were part of the punishment and winners aren't being punished and could choose, but I also like yours.
I find it cute that Sir Pentious has hearts on his outfit, showing how he died for love.
I love the fact that, because Sir Pentious died for love during the angels v demons battle, the markings on the back of his head changed into full-blown hearts. Like... Bro got a lovely glow-up fr

I think the super human looking angels might be heaven born while the ones resembling sinner demons are the winners similarly having their lives represented in their forms , the reason I think the super human looking angels aren’t human is because if you know anything about angel lore is that they can range from being pretty humanoids to Eldritch horror depending on rank so it makes sense honestly
Or it could be as simple as they just retained there human elements cause they liked that about themselves compared to sinners which get traits they hate about themselves.

I’m personally sad the hat lost its smile. Now it’s just one eye, all alone.
The Pentious transformation makes it seem like sinners who get redeemed will take on a more divinely inspired version of their sinner form.
Pentious went from a snake to something like a coatl, and Molly seems to have her multi-limbs more like a dharmic figure, with all the extra limbs radiating from the same point as opposed to angel who's extra arms all sprout from his sides.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Sera and Em look different entirely when we first meet them, then, in a flash their appearance changes!

With Molly she’s still a spider like the rest of her family so maybe it works the same the form is based off of the life of the person we do also see some more human sinners Camila and her daughters for example look human

Personally, I'm guessing it was just for a rhyme, but now it's stuck so it'll probably be canon.
I like the idea that sir pentious still looks like his sinner self as if to imply that this is an entirely different individual who lived a different life and thus should be judged differently

Can you imagine if sir pentious wasn’t the first to be redeemed but the first sinner recognized to be redeemed. From what we saw, a majority of those who oversee human matters are unaware of hell’s situation and residents. I don’t think it’d be a stretch for some of the winners to have been redeemed and slipped by Saint Peter without notice. Which might explain why they look more humanoid than the human looking winners that died and went straight to heaven.
i really want the season 2 explore more heaven, like, a lot. because, we have a lot information about hell (obviously, the helluva and hazbin series is about hell) and i really want to know more about heaven! I hope in the season 2 they show a lot of Sir Pentious experience in heaven and the diference, how winners will react about a sinner being redeemed, if he gonna make friends, if he'll be a exorcise, or whats gonna happend! im so excited!
I think that the less human looking winner are actually redeemed sinners, just no one realizes they were from hell, and the more human ones are ones that went straight to heaven.
My idea is that Heaven gives you the body you want to be in forever, given it's heaven and all that.
But something could be how they died as well, like it won't let you forget how you perished
I’ve been calling Winners, Saints
I'm guessing the winners' appearances might symbolize what temptations they overcame, the circumstances they were in during their lives, and how they died. Whereas powerful sinners committed heinous crimes, powerful winners may have committed great acts of heroism. The more average looking people might have lived under average circumstances and died of natural causes, thus being good people despite not having had to go out of their way to do so.
Some of the more human looking sinners like Katie Killjoy and Carmila Carmine seemed to really only have one specific area where they chose evil, like Carmila illegally dealing weapons and Katie being an a-hole. Thus, human looking winners might be the reverse where they really only had one specific area that was their crossroad between good and evil (like they volunteered at a homeless shelter but otherwise just did their thing, or they refused drugs but didn't exactly risk their lives for anything).
Also, since Heaven is also supposed to be the perfect afterlife, maybe the winners look like how they would prefer to look/however suits their personality. For example, Molly wouldn't know what Angel looks like, but maybe she always loved him and would have wanted to continue resembling her family in the afterlife; hence, some winners who loved/were related to sinners would have appearances symbolizing that deep bond. And if someone really hated pastels, they would show up in their favorite colors instead. Meanwhile, if someone was made fun of for loving pastels, they would show up glowing in baby pink glory. And hey, if a winner really would have objected to looking too non-human, that could also be a reason they simply look like an attractive, glowing human.
Another possibility is that they'd reflect something/someone which significantly helped them choose to be good people, or maybe even a coping mechanism they used to avoid giving up. For example, the dog boy could have had a cherished dog which kept him from committing die, or a sheep guy might have counted sheep to calm himself down and get through the night in an abusive household.
One thing I noticed; everyone in Hell has completely black outlines. Everyone in Heaven’s outlines are more of a blue, which gives them a kind of glowy, ethereal look. I really like that detail for some reason.

I feel like it's the same as in hell. Some off them just choose to look more human, like Alastor, most of the time and some, like Angel, look more like and animal. Altough now that I'm thinking on it this ability to choose might have more to do with power level as most of the overlords look very human compared to the general sinner. Husk might have never gotten this choice since the thing he got in looks that he hates (as all sinners do) is being a cat so he can't entirely be rid of it.
I think it has to do with how many areas they consciously chose either *evil or good, respectively. Angel Dust and Molly both look inhuman, and both were born into a position where they would have had to make lots of choices. Lust or Chastity? Murder or Mercy? Gluttony (Drugs) or Temperance? Stay Silent or Speak Up? Give In To Self-Hatred (Sloth) or Refuse Hatred In General? Greed or Generosity? Take Your Problems Out on Other People or Be Kind Even When It's Difficult?
Most of the overlords are cold-blooded killers, but aside from that they have self-control in other areas. Husker, on the other hand, was not only presumably a killer like other overlords but was also a gambler (Avarice) and a binge drinker (Gluttony).

Afterthought: And if preference plays a role, it would probably be more emphasized in Heaven so they are comfortable in their eternal forms; meanwhile, some sinners like Husker might dislike aspects their forms but have to live with them as part of their punishment.
Let's not forget that Anthony's sister up in heaven looks pink spidery just like him except she has 4 legs instead of 2
I think it’s part of the punishment of being sent to hell. Not only are you being sent to Hell, but you’re being constantly reminded of how you got down there.
I like to imagine that like- while the sinners appearance is chosen based on how they lived, if you instead end up in heaven, you can sorta choose how you _want_ to look
Another fun fact is that Angel dust's twin sister is in heaven you can see her in 0:19 the girl sitting on the right!

A cool detail for sir penchis flap things next to his head (don't know what there called) are Slightly separated probably because he got Disintegrated and blasted in hell

The reason Alastor looks so similar to his human self, unlike the others, is the same reason why he still goes by his name when he was alive. He loves himself and strongly holds on to his own identity. Kinda funny. Most others choose to discard their original names and identity, not him tho. lol

Maybe winners can look like what they want so some of them are having a totally new form, that would also explain

The more human like winners are souls that have died and gone to heaven and the stranger looking ones are heaven-born, their might be more heaven born winners because as said hell is over populated so it is less common to see hell-born sinners?

I’m definitely excited to see and learn more about the Vivzziverse Heaven and its inhabitants.
The hearts match so well since he confessed his feelings to Cherri right before he died
Thing of note: Heaven-bound characters have coloured line art (usually a dusty dark blue or purple), whereas Hell-bound characters have a black line art, it's especially noticeable when the mirrors Charlie and Emily are on screen together, or comparing Pentious' design as Sinner vs redeemed.
(With some noticeable exceptions such as Lute, although it may be to not clash with the black uniform or other creative decisions)
