Announcing the release of Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ as a deluxe box set to celebrate 50 years since the release of one of the best-selling albums of all time. Newly remastered, the box set will be released on 24th March 2023.
One of the most iconic and influential albums ever, Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ continues to find new audiences globally. The album was partly developed during live performances, and the band premiered an early version of the suite at London’s Rainbow Theatre several months before recording began. ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ is the eighth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in the US on 1 March and then in the UK on 16th March 1973. The new material was recorded in 1972 and 1973 at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road studios) in London. The iconic sleeve, which depicts a prism spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis and drawn by George Hardie. ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.

Simultaneously, on 24th March, the CD and first ever vinyl issue of Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon - Live At Wembley Empire Pool, London, 1974’ will be released independently. It was originally recorded in November 1974 as part of the band’s winter tour and this is the first time it will be available as a stand-alone album, with artwork featuring an original 1973 line-drawn cover by George Hardie.

My Dad passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2023. He would have loved this live performance. He was a huge Pink Floyd fan. I bought him Pulse and he would watch it on loop. He had amazing taste in music. From a very young age, I can remember waking up to him playing this album from his bedroom, and then as I got ready for school.
I will miss you SO MUCH Pop. My heart is broken. I miss my morning phone call from you...especially your "My son!" after I said hello. You're no longer in pain or suffering. I love you Papasito. Thank you for EVERYTHING! ❤️

Yep! Any time I see their merch clothing at the store I have to get it It shows how amazing they are that they don't sell current artists merch where I show but they almost always have Pink Floyd clothing. One of the VERY FEW bands that will always stand the test of time. 💖✌️

You've got that right!!! What a blessing and a gift to be able to sit back and enjoy this. I don't know if it is just my little opinion, but does anyone else tend to really listen to it now and understand it more and truly appreciate what a gift these super talented artists share with us now and back then? I remember when I was in high school listening to "Dark Side of the Moon with friends either in a car or in someone's place after just smoking a joint or dropping a hit of acid? Of course the music had to be played on a super stereo with amazing speakers to allow us to fully take it all in. I can honestly say I don't regret a single minute of it either. The only difference is now I don't need the "party enhancements" to take this masterpiece in. I finally get it and love it more than I did before. I agree with you @Semiam1,,,,, Thank you Pink Floyd!🥰🥰🙏🙏🥰🥰

born in 71, this album is forever tattooed in my brain and soul. My Dad had it on reel to reel. The beginning of time used to scare me to death. So hypnotic, mesmerizing and gorgeous all at once. Wtf, this album will change your perception of reality in the best way. 4 musicians working together, sublime. Thank you...

I bought a cassette of this concert way back in 1981 and was surprised at the excellent quality. Someone from my college stole it. Here it is 42 years later in all its glory!
This version of Any Colour You Like is fantastic. Roger's bass playing is levels above what he does on the studio version. Hitting those harmonics, and that twangy new-string tone, beautiful.
Pink Floyd is a unique combination of epic, sentiment and emotion. Pink Floyd enters you and frees this bird that was not meant for captivity. A music that, if you let it, will take you on a journey that has no end indefinitely and will bring you to a place where you will find yourself again.

Rick Wright dying was one of the saddest days of my life. Honestly if it wasn't for him and Nick Mason the band would have dismantled a long time ago. He really worked hard to keep the band together.

My dad was born in 1974 and his dad (my grandad) used to listen to them. So he grew up listening to pink floyd and then when he had us we grew up listening to pink floyd too. Amazing how it’s gone through the generations

I'm 42 and I first heard this at 13. I never thought I'd say this but this may be better than the studio version. Plus it's up there for me with The Allman Brothers - Live at The Fillmore.
I love the barness at times and the way they sing some of these songs different . The quality from the board is on another level.

Насчет лучшей группы согласен на все 100! Но вот альбом... мне Wish you where here и Animals как то больше за душу берут. Но Дарк Сайд это конечно мегакруто. а Концертник без видоса даже лучше. Видеоряд не отвлекает от музыки. Какой же профессионализм. Ни одной фальшивой нотки. Ни одного сбоя. А ведь они тогда еще молодыми пацанами были. Добавлю еще, когда плохое настроение, ставлю свою подборку Пинков в ДВД аудио, наушники на голову и все становится пофигу. Великая группа!

It's def. one of the best albums ever made, I'll never forget being with one of my old friends driving to meet up with another friend. We were like 20 - 21ish and he asked me if I'd ever heard one of their albums and I had not, I only knew a couple singles. That was nearly 20 years ago and thanks to him I still buy clothes of theirs at the store when I see them. I rate this album, The Wall and Wish You Were Here tens. Geez... this sounds incredible!

This is simply the best concert in which this album was played in its entirety, that only this part was released with the anniversary of DSOTM is more than understandable, but I wish, just like the others, that the whole concert will come on one album someday... or maybe in a box with several unreleased concerts? Pink Floyd will have its 60th birthday in just 2 years... that would be one last wonderful present for the fans.
If it's an old school CD I think they can only be 80 minutes at last. Not sure about vinyl.

saw PF perform Dark Side of the Moon in concert at the Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center in June, 1973. to this day, the best concert I ever saw. 3 encores ( including about a 25 minute version of " Echoes ". these were briiliant musicians playing inspiring ( to me ) music. thanks so much for posting this epic concert )

Listened to the studio version non stop for a year when I discovered it 1993….then I found this record in a shop on Sullivan Street in Greenwich Village NYC a year or two later….listened to that non stop too!
The live extended versions of Any Colour You Like are phenomenal- especially the one in this concert

What a masterpiece! This was recorded when I was born, and still sounds awesome. My cousin introduced me to Pink Floyd when I was 12 and they have been the soundtrack to my life ever since. I was lucky enough to see the band's last tour and Roger 4 times, the last one being last Friday in Milan. Somos uma geração privilegiada por conhecer uma obra como essa e de bandas do mesmo quilate como Beatles, Dire Straits, Yes... O Rock britânico elevou esse gênero para uma dimensão sem precedente!

Tengo actualmente 35 años. Gracias a mi padre que conozco a esta grandisima banda desde que tengo memoria. Recuerdo no tener mas de 3 años, en donde mo padre colocaba el vinilo de tdsotm en su tocadisco y nos acostabamos en la alfombra del living escuchando esta verdadera obra músical... que lindos recuerdos🥹. Ahora soy padre de un minirockero de 1 año 9 meses y creanme que me pide cada día que le coloque los vinilos de pink floyd en el tocadisco y ahí el baila y se relaja con la mejor banda de la historia.🙌🏼🤘🏻 saludos desde la cuna del rock (concepcion-chile🇨🇱)
