I've never understood why the Executive didn't sue the Legislative to force it to adhere to the Constitution. The Constitution is clear on the respective responsibilities. It also bothers me that Obama and the media never addressed this course of action in any way.

It is very possible McConnell's decision also got Trump elected, with a higher evangelical vote with the Supreme Court and a Roe reversal possibility on the line. And we didn't get to see if he was willing to block another 4 years under a Clinton presidency, although I imagine the stalemate would have ended with something like Ginsberg retiring and McConnell accepting one "conservative pick" with a Clinton pick.

Being a supreme court justice is definitely not for me. Can anyone imagine if the US President Republican or Democrat selected me to become the next supreme court justice? If it did happen, well hopefully the confirmation hearings will be peaceful and civilized and hopefully Senators on both sides will hopefully treat me with kindness and respect.
