I am so thankful that I found your channel. I took and completed an AAPC medical coding course two years ago. I did not take the test for my certification because I heard that it is difficult to get hired with no experience. I've decided to not let that discourage me anymore and now I am studying for my CPC. Again thank you for sharing!

Joy30906, right now is a great time to come back to coding because ICD-10 is so new that really no coder has experience. You can do this and I will help you.

me too! although Ive been working in the field since 1998 it was never a requirement of any my employers to be certified - flew the course, TOTALLY freaked out at taking the test....never had test anxiety in my life !! so I have been in limbo since and really, really want to face my fears and just do it in 2016!

Thank goodness I found your channel! I plan to take the CPC exam in October or November. I have all books plus the study guide which I find doesn't help me much. I cannot just read and understand I'm more of a hands on person you have helped me so much. Please put more videos! I can't thank you enough!

I am so happy to find you. I am attending college for medical coding and you are so much easier to understand and follow then it is to do with online courses. I'd rather feel like I'm in a class then reading it all and remembering it all. Thank you so much for making these videos.

Thank you Sergut Teklu. For the last 25 years I taught on the State Technical College level. I now work from home full time and miss the classroom environment. That's why I turned to RUclips.

I REALLY WAS ABOUT TO GIVE UP ON CODING....I ACTUALLY WANT TO SCHOOL FOR 9 MONTHS MANAGED TO GET A 4.0 IN BILLING AND CODING ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT I DID NOT HAVE A CLUE TO WHAT I WAS DOING.....THIS HAS BEEN THE CLEAREST EXPLANATION. I BELIEVE THAT I HAVE WATCHED ALL OF THE VIDEOS THAT YOU HAVE PRESENTED AND THEY HAVE ALL BEEN VERY HELPFUL. PLEASE CONTINUE TO BE A LEADER

Being able to show your dr how he could better document his visits is how I envision working.. and you were quite the asset!!! it's been so long now, I'm afraid I won't be as aware and familiar with everything as I was years ago... but I'm sticking with you. Thanks, coach

This is awesome. Thank you for this. I will take this time today to organize my notes and look at the examples you have and more to get even more familiar with the coding book. I will also look at the two organizations website even more.

I am having problems trying to find the late effect for this test question. How is left sided neural deafness (no loss in right ear) resulting from childhood measles 10 years ago coded?
    H90.42, B94.8
    B94.8, H90.42
    H90.3, B94.8
    H90.4, B94.8

Hey! I have been thinking about taking an online medical coding and billing class, but I am scared that I won't be able to find a job in my area of Mississippi. Do new coders have a good chance at finding a job with no experience?

    • @codemastercoach6636

Ashley Thomas remember medical coding is now done remotely, which means we are not confined to just the area where we live. I live in South Carolina but have coded for hospitals in New York, Delaware and North Carolina remotely.

I have been interested in medical coding for a couple years but put it off due to my age (50+). I have been thinking about a career change and I'm finally ready to take the plunge. I have looked at the AAPC website and local college/ universities. I already have a college degree and understand that one is not needed to be a coder so I'm only interested in classes directly related to coding. What is your opinion regarding AAPC online classes vs a 6 to 9 month certificate at a community college. Thank you
