Hard to believe there are only 20 comments or so here. This walk through Genesis is so rich - so practical. Really blesses me to hear this and to ponder things that seemed so obvious when slowing down to discuss this narrative text.
God has comforted me same as Leah being rejected and abandoned by my husband i know i am now walking in my blessings and the Lord has a purpose for me and my heart
@@EbonyNicolee Yet you are so beautiful. Leah was known to be unattractive. She came to an age where she wasnt marriable I guess unless Im being incorrect. Jacob was super toxic for both Leah and Rachel. But Rachel, ooh, she was hot but a hot mess. Jacob became mature over the years and recognized Leah's value so he demanded to his sons to be burried next to Leah and weirdly not nnext to Rachel where he could have took her body to his family tomb. Instead he took Leah's body in his family's tomb. Jacob wanted to sleep next to Leah and make things right. I am certain God has more for you. You are more than Leah, than any Leah's in the world 🥰
Ive been searching this type of study especialy about Leah more than about Jacob or Rachel. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Iv already had similar opinion about this but wanted to make sure I wasnt the only one thinking the same but afraid I was incorrect for thinking that way. THANK YOU
When you compared Jacob's love of Rachel to the love that Jesus has for the church, it reminded of the statement found in Hewbrews 12.2....for the joy set before him Jesus endured the cross and scorned its shame. 😊 Thanks for you sound teaching of the Bible.
very beautiful story of truth Dr. Guzik. Thank you for this magnificent exposition. To God be the glory. I have been faithfully following your explanations on the Book of Geneis, in God' s grace. I am always blessed. Praise to the Lord. God bless you Pastor Guzi, your family, and your wonderful, strong ministry in the Lord.
At 63, and divorced with 4 grown children I can say I learned a whole lot from this teaching on Genesis 29 concerning men, love and sex that I didn’t fully appreciate and understand before. Now I do thanks to you Dr Guzik by your explaining life and the Word so well. Also, I relate to Leah and I am like Leah in regards to fully seeking a full filling relationship with God even after a loveless Christian marriage. I’m blessed and not alone.
This was beautiful. I also remember "True Love Waits" and went on a weekend retreat of sorts as a teenager. Thank you for making this content. It's been so helpful. 🙏
Jacob left a home where he had privilege and servants to go into a foreign land and work to seek a wife. Jesus left his home in heaven, where he had privilege and servants (angelic beings) to go to a foreign land (earth), where he worked (for 33 years) to seek his wife (the church).
David I am very thankful that you read from the NKJV as it is much more understandable for modern Americans. We do not speak 1600's English anymore. Regarding @foreveryours7464's comments: the best Bible to read is the one we will understand.
@David Guzik I agree with the great majority of your teaching. This serves to bring to light any areas of disagreement. I just heard you say that Leah was an innocent victim in the deception of Jacob. I couldn't disagree more. Laban and Leah BOTH knew exactly what they were doing. Nothing in Scripture contradicts this.
Jacob saying “what have you done to me?” Is so shallow. Jacob deceived his father Issac to steal the birthright of his elder brother, yet he expected honesty to be given to him. Many see this as a story of love however I see this as Jacob’s penance for his ill behavior toward Esau and Issac. The blessing God granted him because God swore to himself that he would bless Abraham and his offspring. Jacob isn’t worthy of such blessings by action but by blood God will do as he said he would. Rachel being barren and him losing 14 years unpaid to get her is nothing short in my mind as penance.

It’s a lot to endure but I read it over and over until I understand

52:00 Best part.
The prayer at the end was the best one so far. There are so many people who are unloved where they should be.
Thanks ❤ I loved it. I was blessed 🙌🏿

Wow I did not know this
Considering the time of Jacob his actions are surely based or at least based on survival,.
Her eyes were delicate - meaning she was kindly towards Jacob...Initially.
I don’t know that I would agree that Jacob wasn’t used to hard labor. He had the muscle to roll away that stone by himself.

Pastor Lance replies - Jaco's entire story points to God's grace.
Why God continues blessed Jacob. Why Jacob had a Children with leah if he did not love leah. Why Jacob can't decide on his own .
❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
Why don't you read from the KJV?
It seems as if Jacob took after his Uncle Lebon. Perhaps that’s why Rebecca favored Jacob. He reminded her of her brother.
