Unlike many Americans, I dislike driving. I always take a moment to thank my driver when I get into the car. It sets a better tone if the driver knows they are appreciated.

You go to a restaurant you tip them 15% but you get into an Uber where the driver spends for gas, maintenance and the customer expects freebies, that is petty.

Reju Koshy Alex people only tipped the 15% because they're forced to do so, the food is already so overpriced, and if the boss doesn't give you more of what they are making off of you that's not the customers fault, you cannot charge the customer for high rates with me and then expect them to tip on top of that either the service needs to be dirt cheap or it just simply needs to be an all-inclusive price
People really need to stop expecting extra money just for doing their job we do a job and we are paid for that job you have no right to expect extra money that they voluntarily give you. Everybody has to make a living everybody has bills to pay,

    • @zararoyce319
      @zararoyce319 6 лет назад

Omar Cordero honestly I feel with the fact that prices are going so high, we already pay so much for the basic service with the profit that is made off of food sold in a restaurant which is unbelievable, and then they expect us to pay them extra, why did we already pay so much for the dish? Because service and everything is already included if the owner doesn't pay the waitress was adequately from what he's making off of them that's not the customers fault, either the food of the service needs to be super super cheap or it needs to be understood that it's an all inclusive cost you shouldn't be able to charge somebody $25 for lunch for some basic pasta dish and then expect to actually make $30 for either that launch needed to cost $10 so that you could leave a couple box or you need to be happy with the 25 bucks that you already squeeze the customer for, prices are going up so therefore tipping is going to go down and that is the reality back in the day when stuff was cheap people used to tip because they understood but now the minimum wage is getting higher prices are going up and people just need to be happy with the money that they actually make because we all have bills to pay

When I drove a taxi, I had a passenger who was heading to a very wealthy area of the city. Just by the address he gave, I had assumed no tip and an asshole. Plus he was very drunk to top it off. He ended up falling asleep during the trip. But, after he paid the fare, he said, "Oh man, I'm sorry about the mess I just left for you." I had assumed that he threw up all over my back seat. It was a Friday night. So, it was busy at the bars and clubs. Anyway, I immediately got out of the car to clean the mess before it stained. And, so I could get back to work. When I opened the back door, there was five, $20 bills and no vomit. I was a very happy dude at that moment. Best mess I had to ever clean in my life lol

    • @zararoyce319
      @zararoyce319 6 лет назад +3

Eclypce that's a really cute story :-) but in all seriousness though I do think it's important to keep in mind now days that as the prices of food and services are going up naturally tipping is going to be going down, when customers are being squeezed for more and more people just are not able to leave that extra few dollars as much anymore back in the day people could do tipping more because stuff cost a more reasonable price for it but we all have bills to pay and if somebody takes Uber every day to and from work for instance, if it say somebody spends about $20 a day on Uber that's already a lot of money when you think about it so that extra five dollars for it really adds up there's a big difference between $20 and $25 and that's only assuming that it was a smaller tip if you expect them to leave $10 A day meaning five dollars each way that makes it $30 that is a giant difference was and not everybody can afford to do that when you look at the cost of rent and everything else and the fact that everybody needs to save money for security and for their children's education etc. I just think that companies need to pay people more reasonably so that people can be comfortable with their salaries and then everybody just keeps their own money we need to stop being so stressed out over this Little exchange of a couple bucks here and there Uber needs to either give the driver a higher cut of the cost or they need to really significantly lower the cost of the service so that the customer can afford to tip more

I was so annoyed when my rating dropped. I am always so courteous and considerate with my drivers. To the point where if they're at the wrong stop I'll tell them it's fine, I'll walk over to them. I also have never been rude to a driver and ALWAYS rate 5 stars no matter how shitty the ride because some people work Uber as a full-time jobs. But I recently got a low rating out of nowhere and to his point the passenger can actually tell who gave them the low rating by how the average suddenly drops overnight it's easy to back track and find out who it is. I was able to figure it out and I am petty as hell, especially when I know for damn sure I am a good passenger. I mean my rating only dropped to 4.99, but still it is annoying. I mean, what more do these drivers want?? Massages??

If a low score driver gives me a score it counts as much as a high score driver.

I’m pissed off. I’ve just come out of A&E early hours in the morning. Had decent casual chit chat with the driver, nice guy - told him why i’d just from Hospital, he gives me advice on pills to take.
He drops me off, We say our goodbyes, and just as I step out the car, I see he gives me 2 stars?
WTF? Why? Because I didn’t tell you my life story? Because I wasn’t bubbly and enthusiastic at 6am?
I typically talk to my Ubers, however in the last few trips, I haven’t spoken that much during the rides - whatever it may be: sh*t day, feeling anxious for the event i’m heading to, or simply because I don’t feel like a whole conversation/talking too much. I noticed during these periods, my score rating went down considerably (from 5 starts to 4.4) I tested the theory, and started speaking again, immediately my ratings went back up.
I have since quietened a bit, and now i’m at 4.2. Honestly, screw some of you. I constantly gave 5 Stars to all my Ubers. It didn’t matter if he was shy, energetic, solemn, quiet or loud - If you are punctual, and get me from A to B - You have done your job and THAT deserves 5 stars. EVEN if you were late with valid reason - 5 stars.
As a customer, do I greet you? Yes. Am I punctual? Yes? Do I cause disturbance/am I a nuisance? NO! THAT should be the standard for 5 stars/a Decent customer. Or atleast 4 stars as standard, and 5 stars if you enjoyed their company.
Since the low scores, and especially since seeing for myself, someone who I actually enjoyed travelling with, give me such a low score for myself, I will from now on Score tactfully.
If I didn’t catch him rate me so low, I’d have walked away & given him a 5 star easy. Maybe even a bloody tip! I actually LiKeeed the GUY! DaFck.
    He gave me. 2 - I gave a 1. Fckn Simple.
I’m so done with giving 5 stars as my standard.

I got my first 3 star rating over the weekend....not sure if it was the lady that asked me for 3 dollars cause she was short on the cover to get into a nightclub (she was cincerely upset when I told her no).
Or if it was one of the two separate groups of people who tryed to get 7 Passengers in my Denali when I can only carry six.
I always rate five stars...even to difficult peaple.
I did learn my lesson tho...now I know not to start a trip til all passengers are in the vehicle (cause I think that if I cancel the ride due to too many passengers, the customer doesn't have the opportunity to rate me), where previously I would start a trip as soon as they started piling in....
It is frustrating people rate you low for not breaking the law and accommodating more people than you have seatbelts. I am already carting six people across town for eight or ten bucks in a very nice SUV(we only have x and xl in this market)...and they want more....

I'm not a driver I'm a rider. If I see the driver giving me anything less than 5 stars they ABSOLUTELY get a 1 star. I'm a good passenger. I'm gentle with the doors I say hello. I'm in a foreign country and I don't know enough of the language to effectively communicate. Sometimes I just listen to music on my headphones and I'm quiet. The one time I legitimately gave a driver 1 star he was taking me for a ride for no damn reason IE deviating from the GPS ... I assume because I was a foreigner and he thought maybe I'd pay more if he extends the trip. I stopped the ride early after the 3rd time. Gave him a 1 star and wrote a note.
If a passenger is disrespectful or slams your door. Absolutely rate them down. If they are quiet and behave and are respectful of your car. Then you give them 5 stars.

  • @zararoyce319

I definitely understand that getting a tip is nice but I think it's very important to remember now days for that to Bing is not required, if you go in expecting to get extra money that the customer does not have any obligation to give you your going to be disappointed a lot of the time because the customers are real people as well they're already paying the high price of the ride was not everybody can afford to tip, and ironically, especially those who use the service frequently, maybe somebody who only uses it on special occasions for an uberBLACK can afford to leave a nice tip but that's not the case but for the average working person who maybe using it literally every day almost 50 if they're already spending $20 a day on Uber to get to and from work for that extra few dollars is going to add up very very quickly and make a very big difference to what they are paying on a monthly basis
This is not cheap for the customer, the fact that Uber for the corporation fifth should be giving drivers a bit more of the money is a whole different matter, I definitely think that Uber could afford to eliminate the tipping option of it and just give drivers for a bit more of the money in the first place and that would actually result in more income for the driver overall either that, or make the rides for much cheaper by getting away from the surge pricing so that customers would feel that they can afford to tip more often,
Lastly, it doesn't matter how good of service you provided them, but they are paying you for the ride and that's the thing that you're providing for a tip is something extra so unless you did something way way above and beyond the call of duty you don't have any right to really think about a tip from your side. This whole tipping phenomenon has gotten way out of control tip jars are now at drive-through's and everything, and it's so interesting how selective we are in terms of the industries that do tipping, we don't tip are doctors and they do way more for us than the person who handles our coffee out the window

I had two 1-for-1 star rating retaliations! They deserved the 1-star ratings for good reasons, but I rated them right after the trip and they rated me the same way! Now I give everyone 5 stars after every ride, but keep a tally of all my riders and note any notable deductions. I then re-rate them at the end of the shift.

I then switched to the school grading system of A,B,C,D,F. Now my star rating is a 4.92 and it still hasn't come down. I guess we can chalk it up to the difference of our markets.

Rating system is bull crap, and all uber/Lyft got to do is make some simple changes. I get lied on horribly for absolutely no reason at all, cars clean in and out, don’t talk too much or to little in fact I let the passenger decide, I drive darn near perfectly, and still get 1,2,3 stars, it’s really discouraging me From driving people around... 3 people lied and said may car was dirty and smelly, my car smell like berries, my floor is vacuumed , trunk is empty and clean as a whistle, but they lie because they simply don’t like you. And this rating system is supposed to be fair??... we have an honest system in a dishonest world... makes me wonder do they allow this so they can have a reason to get rid of you when they feel like it?

Only new Uber drivers need to pay any heed to ratings, don't worry about ratings it balances out.

    • @747-pilot
      @747-pilot 6 лет назад

Exactly!! But I still feel Uber's and Lyft's rating system is extremely unfair. The passenger should NOT be able to see their rating for at least 2 weeks AFTER they have rated the driver.
I ONLY give out 5 stars or 1 star (or very rarely 2 or 3 stars). 95%+ of the people get 5 stars, and in my 1 year and 2000+ trips, I've only given less than 5 stars about 7 or 8 times.
In the past I've even given 5 stars to people who made me wait 10+ minutes and didn't apologize or give an explanation, but I may change these things. As you said 1 or 2 low ratings should not make a difference for us veteran drivers. And you can't live your life like that anyways! Besides, it's not like Uber rewards us in any way for maintaining a "super high" rating
The way I look at it, *I am* there to provide *the passenger* a service. So they can do whatever they want. And by *whatever* I mean things like: sitting at the back, sitting in front, constantly talking on the phone, not talking at all, not saying hello ......etc. etc. As the author of this video points out, as long as they *"behave"* they get a 5 star from me.
As another poster said, pressure me to break laws, like speeding, or in any other way endanger me or my property and it is an *AUTOMATIC 1STAR* (don't give a rats rear end how they rate me - I've had to do this for this reason 3 times in my entire Uber driving career).
One passenger on an airport ride, who was a rude jerk to begin with, got into my car and DEMANDED that I drive "as fast as possible" because he was late to catch a plane. I politely indicated to him that i was not going to break any laws and that "I would do my best to get him there most efficiently".
He kept huffing and puffing, and throwing tantrums the entire way. I NEVER go more than 5 mph over the speed limit. It was a 65 and I was doing 70-ish. He kept huffing and puffing and throwing tantrums, saying that if I don't do at least 80 or 90 mph we would "never get there on time". And he got the 1 star he deserved from me. Later, I realized that my rating had gone down too, from a 4.92 to a 4.89. As I used to meticulously keep track of my rating (don't do it anymore), through mathematical extrapolation, I realized he had given me a 1 star.

Rider was where he/she said they would be and ready to go when I arrive and I take them to the destination they chose, I give 5 stars. Whether they talk or not is not important. Other than a "Hi, how are you?" and verification of their destination, I generally let the rider set the tone for conversation. I don't downrate for lack of tip, but if a rider does tip it may guarantee them a 5 star even if there where other minor issues.
If the rating system was a fair and accurate tool for both drivers and passengers, I may rate more honestly. This seems to be one of the only businesses where anything less than 5 stars can break you, although many other businesses seem to be picking up on it.

Hello there, I just wanted to tell you a incident on how a Uber passenger deactivated my Uber driver app. I was soooooooo shocked, pissed, and surprised that this happened. For of all let me tell you the situation how this all came about. I had four rif raf guys that I picked up. I couldn't believe that they were low life but just by hearing their conversation that all were either in the medical field or at least the passenger who order the ride sounded like he was a physician because I heard him saying "my patient". When they entered my car the person who was the one who ordered the ride was complaining why was his account charge for the ride before he finished the ride. He was so upset and he asked all of friends for what reason Uber charged his account before he go to his destination. His friends thought maybe it's because of his low rating. Then the guy did mentioned he had a very low rating of 4.0.
This guy was so pissed that Uber did this and he said he was going to get back at Uber. Shortly after I dropped off all of these guys I get a text message from Uber that I had a complaint. I didn't fully read the text because I had taken another ride request after I had dropped of the 4 guys. Then after I dropped off my 2nd passenger I pulled over and read the message. Apparently someone had complained to Uber that they claimed they smell marijuana in my vehicle and was very dissatisfied with my service because of this. I read further and Uber said they have put my account on hold until further investigation. I was shocked and horrified that someone would stoop so low to do this and claim false accusations. I don't smoke pot and I never had. I was terrified if I would try to prove to Uber that this was a false accusation. Then it dawned on me that I suspected if must of been the 4 guys who I just dropped off because it was shortly after I dropped them to their location I received this message from Uber. I called my other buddy who is also an Uber driver sent me a news article that there is many fraud that's going on of people trying to get refunds and a free ride. They would make false accusations of their bad experience and Uber would honor their claim then refund their trip along with deactivating the Uber drivers account.
The next days I went to the Uber greenlight hub and gave them the entire story what had happened. Since I didn't have proof but I did tell them I suspected their was false play going on that I feel one particular passenger was trying to get a free trip, get a discount at the expense of getting my account deactivated. I mentioned this the the Uber agent because it was only after I had dropped off these 4 guys which right after I received this message from Uber and shortly after my account was deactivated. Then I see the Uber agent gathering all of my information and I even had a snapshot screen image of the Uber rider. Then I mentioned to the Uber agent I suspected that this rider must have several claims on his account so he can refunded or get free trips. I asked the agent can you tell me who reported this and was I right who I suspected. The agent told me he is not authorized to furnish me with that information but he did tell me of what information I gave him was right on the money. So in short he did tell me that I was correct of what individual that made the claim. The agent also told me that if they discover anyone who is abusing the system and they find a history of seeing a pattern of getting free trips they will not hesitate to banned them from the app and deactivate their Uber account.

Pretty much this vague 5 star rating system is quite stupid. As a driver you should be able to block passengers individually only for yourself because it's your car and you decide who you let in. What's even worse is that the drivers rating suffers and could get you fired, but a passenger that harrasses the driver and vandalizes the vehicle can get banned but they simply get a new phone number and register a new account.

I did almost 5000 trips, I have never received any tips , I have been offered few times but rejected , I have 4.88 ratings , I only give 1 or 5 stars, and that depends on the rudeness of the person, the attitudes of the person, (If in any case I think the customer would give me low ratings whether its my fault like missing an exit or other small mistakes) I would give them 1* , If the customer have low ratings below 4.69 I don't care how he pretend nice, 1* is a must.
I don't accept the requests of anyone below 4.60*
If I accept a trip its very rare to cancel it , and I don't start a trip unless the person is in my car and im comfortable to drive that person, thats when I start the trip,
Always lock your car especially when confirming the name of the passanger, just put down the window and ask their name nicely, if they are drama people they would hesitate to give you the right name, or they would start arguing to you b4 even they are in your car, smile to them and drove away.
I don't cancel too frequently I only cancel when I need.
but I have never charged anyone a cancellation fee!
    because it's not worth it.
don't be too friendly or too rude, don't talk about how much you earn (there are a lot of jobless cunt, who would just punish you for that)
don't advertise Uber! to customers by saying it's good or bad!
just try to avoid religion, politics or any sensitive topics, including Sports! or even the team you support.
If you are droping off to different addresses make sure the passengers MUST put the 2nd address from their app(or else they would claim bad navigation and you have took longer routes) while you were just droping one of their mates!
Most of the customers care alot about their ratings so when you completing the trips make sure to show them secretly that you have give them 5*, smile to them and tell them "wow you are such a nice person, hopefully see you again "
Never ask 5 star, dont tell them you will give them 5* but secretely show them.
for those whom you think they would rate you low, fake every thing, this is how : when you completing the trip, pretend that you're giving them 5 stars, by tapping all 5 stars without pressing "Submit ratings" or complete ratings! fake a smile and tell him exactly "wow you are such a nice person, hopefully see you again " if the rider fails to leave the car immediately, switch on the lights and ask him if he drop anything at that point minimize that app. and when he leave just press the 1 star and move on!
riders can't now how you rate them, what ever you give them can't effect their account immediately.
NB: most of the people that tell you or mention they will give you 5 stars, would give you 1* trust me.
Remember never be honest, its a business and its a game, be smart and play the game.
there is no mercy, Uber cares only there customers!
If they want all drivers to be 5 stars, I accept that challenge and I want all riders to be 5 stars! : seems fair game to me.
If in any case your 5 stars drop because you work weekends and nights only, change to morning in week days and also airports, .
I love this game, and I have learned alot about Uber how they treat their drivers.

If I didn't sit in your car well enough to get a 5 , you just earned a 1.

I've seen this happen! It amazes me that so many Uber/LYFT FB columns that drivers tell everyone that if they don't get a tip them. A lot of drivers say, "no tip, they get a 1 star" or "no tip, they get a 4 star"....I took that advice foolishly and realized that my rating, too was going down. I started giving these decent people 5 stars, and my rating went up! As low as this may sound, I'm aiming for a 4.7! I was all the way down to a 4.53! That's horrible! SO, this is a good video. Thanks for verifying this fact. Maybe some wise drivers will see this.

How about the people that just give you a one rating just to screw around and they think it's funny.
I have given close to 250 rides in 2 months got numerous tips and then I got one person giving me a one rating for no reason at all my car spotless you could eat out of it and it smells fresh cuz I keep with can of Febreze in it.
Uber really needs to work on their rating system and my rating right now is 4.87 for all the people that just give you four stars thinking that it's like going to a restaurant

it's not the customer's fault that the ubers and lyfts have created a terrible culture for drivers - i give every rider 5 stars in most cases. you have to work really hard to get under my skin. for the most part, i think the rating system is inherently flawed and provokes pettiness on the part of riders and drivers alike.

Omaira Torres I can see the rating for the lyft riders. Whata funny is the person with the loweat rating I picked up was someone I liked the most. Lol lol I gave them a 5star (like everyone else). I think the only reason they had a low rating was they had a toddler and if this person didnt bring a carseat to their last ride. But I keep one in my car for just in case so thats not an issue for me.

If they make me wait for a long time after me calling and they lie saying "I'm coming" and yet they take their time they will get a low rating or of course if they misbehave.

    I'm an Uber rider.
I get in the car and leave the car as spotless as It was before I entered
I make small talk if you initiate.
Would any of you drivers give me less than a 5 star review for not tipping in the scenario above.
I would only give more than I have to if I feel like the driver somehow, someway went above what was expected of them. (Getting me from point A to point B) or if I made some sort of mess like a lot of dirt or something.

    • @RobMan
      @RobMan 6 лет назад +2

No, I work a college town. I don't expect those kids to tip. The rides are usually more than they can afford anyway. However, If you would traditionally tip a pizza driver, or other service person why not tip your driver? Assuming you can. But I would never let tipping effect the star rating. I feel the same from a driver stand point. If I get you from point A to point B safely, then how could that be less than 5 stars. That's the deal. I drive you ride.

    • @zararoyce319
      @zararoyce319 6 лет назад

Rob Man absolutely, I always give a five star rating to my drivers and if I found them to just be kind of rude but not too over-the-top sometimes I just choose to not give a reading at all if they weren't exactly nice but they were not rude enough to constitute a complain but it was just kind of awkward I just choose not to read them at all which is a better option sometimes. As far as the tipping, I think it's a bigger issue, I think that the society has made it such to wear tipping is becoming an expectation tip jars or even showing up on drive-through is now days people are really being sucked dry because the cost of the service and the food is going off and we're being expected more than ever to have that few extra bucks and people just can't do it
Either companies need to lower the cost of the products and the services so that customers feel like they can afford that tip or he just needs to be understood that this is an all-inclusive price and that's why the food or the service is so expensive and you just call it a day and the company needs to pay the employee adequately

    • @jasonfrerichs6583

No, I never ding a rider's rating over a tip. Besides, you won't know if someone tips or not until you're long gone. If someone tips via the app it takes a few minutes for it to show up. I've also gotten tips a week after the trip because sometimes a rider will forget about it until he or she opens the app again.

That's how it should be, you should respect someone else's vehicle as if it were your own. Im an Uber driver & I appreciate people like you very much!!!! I always give 5 star ratings, it'd take something bad like a big mess, super rude, cussing over the phone, trying to tell me how to drive or asking me to break the law but I NEVER give less than 5 stars just b/c someone doesn't tip. I can't even see if they left a tip with their debit payment until about 5-7 mins after the trip is finished. I'm not sure if taking cash tips is against the rules or not but that'd be the only way to tell if I got tipped right away. Plus, you now have up to 30 days to tip an Uber driver thru your debit/credit payment (if I read that correctly but I'm pretty sure I did). I don't think it's right to give less than 5 stars to a rider just b/c they didn't tip. Sometimes people need to get to work & could be struggling financially & just cannot afford a tip; you never know a person's situation! I personally wouldn't do that, to answer your question 😊 sorry so long!

So an associate of mine drives for uber in Orlando florida... he drives an Infiniti M45 (not a cheap car), he picked up 3 young ladies from the downtown area of Orlando on new yrs night... apparently they have been drinking... visibly intoxicated.. slurring words and all.. he said they must have weighed 80 pounds (wet)..... 5 minutes into the ride... they all threw up on HIM*.... Mind u, he has dreads.. (long hair) they threw up in his head... on his right shoulder... down his shirt... he claimed it was some sort of projectile type of vomit... because it ended up on his rear view mirror... on his dash board.. down his A C vents.. on his windshield...Some exorcist type shit....it was some sort of chain reaction... one saw one vomit and it triggered the other 2... oh and to top it off... he said he was doing about 65mph on the hwy... while this was happening...😐 yah..... terrible.... he said his night was over... because once the AC is turned on.. you're getting a face full of vomit scent... they (the detailing place) had do remove his entire dashboard and the cleaning guys were scooping out all sorts of crap out the vents... and and did I mentioned that.... that was his very first ride for the night 😆awful

Now you give them 24 hours after drive to decide to tip or not. Changes alot, its just u dont wanna see nontippers anymore in ur car and the only way to assure that is 3 star. This problem is getting out of hand due to commisions drivers get charged from lyft/uber. Lots of stuff changed, they cant see ur rating till they rate themselves. If they forget to rate its an automatic 5 star after 24 hours

Listen, here is something else that drivers do not know about passengers. Most get angry when there is surge pricing. For example, when it is raining. They often will call you yelling. "I am getting soaked out here, where are you?" Well, you might get a 3X normal price. However, you will get a one star later on. That is how passengers get even.

Hdr Max This is crazy. Driver has no control over anything what Uber does. You are mistreating someone who has not done you wrong. It's the business model you should dislike and not the person who drives you. Drivers are already abused and you're mistreatment adds to it. But I believe, most people won't fall for this. That revenge tactic will be mostly played by early 20's, late 20's or even some early 30's but not all of course. My best preferred riders request are early 30's and up.

I have also given 2 two stars to women who were also mean, nasty and creepy. I ALWAYS GIVE FIVE STARS TO EVERYONE because as an Uber Driver, I MAKE MISTAKES TOO and I want people to forgive me for my stupid mistakes so I am also usually a very forgiving person. I am not stressing on people giving me a tip. If you are stressing on getting a tip, this is the wrong job. I do think its inappropriate to rate customers low because of no tip or short distance. Do not get me wrong its annoying to have people ask a million questions or go up the road or not tip me when I provide good service but ive learned to separate the emotions from business. I drive. Been driving 8 months. Thats bad karma. And yes. These customers definitely follow their ratings. Closely. Its not worth the headache. Either rate 1 or 5. No inbetween. People are very fickle and sensitive. They will rate you low. With no mercy. If the person is tolerable. I rate them a 5. You cant expect to like all these customers. Thats unrealistic.

for me, my advice is don't drive morning shift for 7 to 9 and night shift after 9 pm ,this is what i do , i was rating for 5 to 4,27 and back to 4.6 now ,buring 3 weeks. i didnpt realized i got bad rating ,after the day of fouth. i was start driving 5/28 and 6/4 my rating 4.46,and after 2 more day 4.27,it was 6/6. so i realized i need to do something ,i clean my car and vacumn before i start my ride every day , allso i don't work early in morning what i what mantioned before. i start my ride at 10 sometimes 12.ends my ride bofoe 9 .because i don't want to pick up bad ass and druck idot at night even the prime time is 550 percent.i dont earn that kind of money. finally do more rides as you can.because the more you do ,the more do learn ,also that can protect you from bad rating . here the math, if you d 10 rides, 2 dump ass give you 3 star ,that mean your rating is 4.8 ,if you do 5 rides, 2 dump ass give 3 star, you rating would be 4.6 .that' s the diffences .

Usually, I rate driver's who do not tip a 4.5, which rounds up to 5. However if I do the bare minimum, I don't really expect a tip. I will give them a 4 star if I went above and beyond by getting the door for them, helping with their luggage or groceries, ect and they do not tip. I have gave someone a 4 star even after they tipped me because they were extremely obnoxious. If I don't get a thank-you or anything, usually a 3 star but that very rarely happens.

Great video and a very interesting perspective. However I personally don't pay any attention to tips , because 98% of my riders don't tip me . And that's because of Uber. Nonetheless those that tip me tip me very well ; at least on every given week I get $50 in tips and I'm fine by that.
Now the ratings , my philosophy is wether or not I want a particular rider in my car ever again. And I have about 5 reasons
1, Did a rider wasted too much of my time without even acknowledged it ? ( e.g when a stop at the CVS for prescription pickup turn into a grocery shopping )
2, Did a rider left trash in my car ? ( e.g eating my candy or water/soda for free and then left wraps and empty bottles behind )
3, Was a rider rude and disrespectful ? ( e.g riders who feel entitled to auxiliary cord, phone chargers and unappreciated one's )
4, Did I feel safe with that rider behind my back ?
5, Was the rider acting like they were transporting something iligal ? (e.g . Drug dealers this day's are using Uber more on transporting than their personal car ) I may not be able to prove what they have in their luggage; but if things appears to be awkward then I may never want them in my car . Big Risk if you get pull over.
    I don't remember how many times I gave 2, 3 , or 4 ; I give 99% 5☆ and 1% 1☆ and my ratings are perfect. 4.9 almost one year and at least 170 rides a week.

As a driver, I understand that I have to rate a passenger immediately while passengers can rate their drivers at their leisure, but please advise where in the rider app is the rider rating. I would notice a decline in my rating, however, shortly after I rate a passenger a 1. Now, my rating system is based on whether or not I object to ubering that passenger again. In the event I decide NOT to UBER the rider again I would rate him/her a 1. Otherwise, I would rate 5. There is no in between for me. I also ignore the TIP factor in my rating system. However, I am AGAINST the passenger app tip functionality for no other reason than the tips would then be reported on the 1099 and thus increase my tax liability. A rider would generally tip in cash if in fact the driver provides and /or the rider receives a tip worthy experience which would normally follow a 5 star rating for the driver.

I make sure to treat all the drivers with respect and talk to them. After all you drivers are using your vehicles and your time driving people like me without a car around.
