Like Abe said, Iwata is still in the credits during the "Skyward Sword original staff" section (so far every Nintendo remake or remaster has a section dedicated to everyone who worked on the original version, like I'm pretty sure the 3DS remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask still have a credit for Hiroshi Yamauchi, the president of Nintendo when those were originally made).
@@BloodRedFox2008 Yes, Ocarina of Time 3D even has a entire new and separated credits screen for the remake's staff, after the scene where Link and Zelda reunites as children.
2:16 I tried explaining this to a speed runner I watch on twitch, but he didn’t understand what I meant. What’s nice about this is that you can keep your aim in the relative middle of the screen, and use the stick to do your big movement toward the target. That way, you don’t have to move to the edge of the screen, then waste time moving your aim back to the middle of the screen/away enough from the edge to have it stop turning the camera. It’s sort of small, but for speed running, it could save a few precious seconds
Even outside of speedrunning it is a small thing that makes a big difference to your quality of life while playing. The old version had a lot of little things that ended up making it a frustrating experience, but this versions cleans up a lot of those smaller issues
This series was tons of fun to watch! Thank you for all the videos :) I was never able to complete Skyward Sword because I had to go to high school and the workload was a lot, but with this Switch remake, I feel like your videos were able to make my experience of playing this game just a little better (since you pointed out so many tweaks added to the HD remake), so thank you for that as well! :D
Aw I'm so sad this is the last video in the series! Thank you for making them! I don't know how you found all these small differences so I'm thankful you went through the effort to find them!
4:50 This is something I kind of wish they used as a way to keep the controller centered. Because usually, you aim at the middle (aiming at the middle of the screen anyway) before pulling out an item, so it could use that to re center for you, instead of manually doing it. But I guess for consistency using Y to re center, it makes sense
The Wii has the correct implementation since it's more natural. But anyway, if the Switch gets updated to work as the Wii version you can still press Y whenever, so it won't cause any consistency issues.
4:50 This detail makes me wish there's always an on-screen indicator of where you were pointing, like the fairy on Twilight Princess for Wii. That way, my aim isn't unexpectedly way off when I bring something up.
Yayy more water!!! more…just water… Also my comment on the last difference below (SPOILER ALERT) I didn’t remember the credit has poor quality on the original…I probably went to get a snack after waving the net continuously at Demise. Anyway, the remake’s credit looks amazing.
Shame that Iwata passed away a few years ago. But at least he'd enjoyed his last moments on the Earth. I can hear the echoes of BOTW's credits in our heads for the honorable mention of him. He will never be forgotten. 😔
I feel like even though they were low framerate, the original credits were made with a bit more care. The new credits tend to speed through things a bit, leaving you lingering on the last position to make up for the time, and the camera movements aren't quite precise enough for some of the more careful shots. They also really highlight that while the remake looks way better close up, it actually looks worse far away, losing some of the beauty of the artstyle.
Agree with that and the camera also seems to pivot around a lot more rather than moving like a "real" camera would. Which, to me at least, reminds me of looking at Skyloft in a 3D model viewer rather than a physical location.
Not gonna lie, I like the smoothness of the Switch credits, but I much rather have the Wii's lighting and clouds. Actually looks like art and less like a 3D showcase.
actually if i recall correctly at 3:19 you can do that exact same thing on wii. You just have to press the D-pad down pointing at the screen to make the game reajust the position of the gyro on the wii motion plus and the motion plus wimote
i don't get that difference in the sense that the problem is odd... well at least under normal conditions. There's no need for calibration in flying sections since the Loftwing probably mostly relies on the Accelerometer for control (rotation & tilt) which doesn't drift since it uses the earths gravity as point of reference.
You could press B in the wii version when climbing the rope of Beatle's shop to make the "stop" animation you can do on other ropes, on switch doing so will make you release de rope, instead
@@MattRevs Yeah, WiiU, basically what the Switch ported like 70% of its games from. Example: Mario Kart 8, BOTW, SuperMario 3D World, and many others. It came after the Wii and had a lot of Co-op with the 3Ds. Its known as the best retro nintendo game emulator console to this day. Playing NES, Game Cube, Ds, Wii, along with its original games, and so much more! The WiiU game pad is essentially what inspired the Switch in many ways.
@@AkameGaKillfan777 indeed it does, it was originally made as a WiiU exclusive but as production delayed they decided to have a co-release. There was lots of WiiU exclusive stuff for botw like the mapping on the gamepad and was specifically developed for the WiiU. @@PhantomNoir BotW was not a completed game before releasing on the Switch. Even without the U.I. changes, there were still brand-new things they had to complete.
You forgot an imporatnt difference: Item use is mapped to the item selection buttom (ZR). In Wii item use was mapped to "A" while item selection was mapped to "B".
Also, also, if you press Y repeatedly while pacing the Joycon left and right, you can cross all ropes and Link will just do a little dance and not tip either way...
Took me about an hour to find everything for my wii, to find my copy of skyward sword and to beat my save a had. My end credits were not all choppy like that. Are you using an emulator or something?
There are just a few diffrences at the Wii and Remaster. The Remaster should‘ve been the Orginal, than it never would hated for so long in the first place 😊❤️
In difference 4 in the Wii version Links hangs with one hand before lifting himself up with both hands. In the HD version he is directly using his both hands :)
remember since the Wii has an optical sensor it uses it to detect the sensor bar as a reference point. This way it it roughly know where it's forward & adjust the controls automatically.
Hence why the Wii version is still the definitive experience when it comes to more accurate motion controls. The Switch motion controls are flawed & requires constantly pressing the Y button prior to using a weapon or using the sword. Even during swordplay and the use of the item, things get messed up even if you press Y. It has serious problems & breaks immersion. Wii version is more seamless and immersive.
@@AkameGaKillfan777 You only have to recalibrate every time you start the game. How does that ruin your immersion if you haven't even started playing? LOL! That does not hurt immersion as much as constantly recentering on the Switch version prior to using an item or the sword EVERY TIME. If you are constantly recalibrating during the Wii game excessively, then that means that your set up is not right.
@@DanielMazahreh I'd say that's worse: using an extra setup to actually start playing rather than doing it along the way. And the Wii version could still lose calibration.
While i agree with the Wii version working more seamlessly. Pressing Y to recenter isn't a serious problem, it's just something the user should make an habit of... like for example: lifting the mouse or pressing a button to recenter the camera. Some people just remapp Y to SR on the right joycon & just instantly press it as they take an item out.
@@Refreshment01 Actually, IT IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. Maybe you haven't completely read my comments, but I was pretty clear in pointing out in my original comment that EVEN AFTER YOU PRESS Y TO RECENTER, YOU STILL have problems in the middle of using an item or the sword. For example, the Beetle. Even before recentering and during flight control, the controls still mess up. This is SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE than the Wii version.
I don’t remember the bird getting misaligned in the original. I’m pretty sure it would consistently use the sensor bar to center it, right? Like how it does for everything else
#7 was a pretty bad change from the Wii version to the Switch. I've had much more difficulty using my items due to this change, and it has affected my flow of the game. One of my reasons why I "switched" to button controls.
0:32 well, duh, they removed the sheikah stones from the game didn't they? you gonna point out every single place they've been removed from? :S 2:27 also wasn't that obvious already? that now you can control the camera with the right stick?
