- My review of the blue tooth speaker, Altec Lansing Xpedition 8 amzn.to/2PdesCP. Claims "everything proof". ALP-XP800 has good sound quality and long battery life. It's advertised as a good speaker to take to a pool or the beach, but apparently salt and chlorine can compromise the quality of the speaker.

When standing it up, make sure the tweeters are both at the top or one tweeter will not be on.

Hi. I've got the same model. Bought 2yrs ago. Today I was playing it for 30mins linked together with my 2nd speaker and It switched off. Now I can't switch it back on or charging. Can anyone advise what the problem is is and how to fix

@@USMC816 Pretty well. So far my only complaint is that the power button isn't always super responsive. Sometimes I have to hold down longer or push it harder for the power to come on. Other than that, it's been great.

Just purchased the 850, and as far as I can tell, yes, that is the only difference. BTW.....its awesome.

I got mine also at sames club. Was very happy with it but just recently it stopped charging. Only works with the cable attached.
I heard Sam's club has it had it for 200$ something. Now it's at 400$ too pricey for me.

When you play song and turn the volume.. (by saying lets crank it up)on xpedition how much percent volume you keep is it max or half, 1/4 of full how much?
Sumanth Bhat it depends on how loud I have the phone volume. If I'm working out, I'll have things a little louder. Half volume is real loud for me.
Is it portable enough, like I’m looking for a speaker for a hockey locker room an that would have me carrying it around everywhere or should I go for something smaller
Its definitely portable enough. I'm guessing 25 lbs.

why oh why didnt they put a card reader inside so it will play music by itself
Jason Leo yeah, I wished they did that too. But if they did, they would have to make a screen to display what's playing and folders, and that would drive up the cost and make it non-water proof.

You know altec lansing is an American company????? And is the founder of JBL ..altec lansing was the commercial grade and jbl was the home audio .
