Hi Joe! Great videos and very helpful! I'm actually coming to Bangkok the week after next (my first time there) and will definitely hit up some of the places you've covered in your videos. Hope to see you around town while I'm there!
Ya man. I'll be in and out of town, but shoot me a comment. Maybe well put a meetup together. We had 12 people over at O Shea's the other day. Good times
Very timely video. I was coming home yesterday from immigration and wondering the best route to take. My options were 1. Pink - Red - Blue or 2. Pink - Green - ARL . To get to Petchaburi / Makkasan MRT. I went with option 1. It is nice to have some choices.
Getting from Sukhumvit to DMK airport is such a weird situation since it really depends on luggage, where you're starting from, how many travelers, when you leave, etc. SRT Red Line or bus from Mo Chit are probably the best value in terms of money, speed, and transfers. I'll be flying out of DMK next month with another person so I'm leaning on taking the bus from Mo Chit. Maybe I'll take the SRT Red Line back and compare them 555.
I agree. It depends where you live. If you live in Bearing, maybe the Green, Yellow, Blue, Red. If you live near Victory Monument, you can take the Green to Mo Chit and the bus. Or you can take the Green to the Pink to the Red. As far as luggage, yes it's trickier with a heavy bag. I travel fast and light. Carry on only. I just did a 6 week trip Australia, New Zealand and Tahiti. 12k carry-on, no problem. If I had a 50lb bag, I'd just plan for a car and give myself plenty of time if I hit traffic. If I don't, that's cool. Just hit the lounge. But, if a person wants to take the train to Bangkok Central, this will get you to the Asoke BTS.
The last Grab I took from Sukhumvit Soi 26 took about and hour and a half. If you can do it in 30 minutes, without a risk of traffic, I'd do that to. I fly a few times a month. The train doesn't get stuck behind a motorcade going into Chaeng Wattana. I've seen a few of those. Brings traffic to a halt for the Secretary of (Insert name here)
It's out there. But, the train makes it easy. The express train to BKK is even better. But, I pick DMK because it's often easier on the lines at security and immigration

Cool vlog❤
Thanks Mario
Wow that looks complicated but I’m sure you get used to the routes once you live there. Thanks for sharing
Nah it's pretty simple. Google maps will walk you through until you learn the system.
Cool

I'm with you. The Pink, Red, Blue has fewer stops than Pink, Green to Sukhumvit.

Those days are behind me. Today I take a grab from my condo near Asok I;m at DM in 30 minutes $9 USD. 😀

I almost took this trip in the reverse direction, but I couldn’t be bothered with changing lines twice during evening rush hour.
That's the best time to take a train. It could take twice as long in a car.
I didn’t realize how far this airport is from everything

Missed a number of flights in the early 80s due to traffic no trains back then
Ya the train is the way to go. A car might take 45 minutes, it might take 1.5
