    great video. for my 63 kg ass, the closed guard has always been more of a stalling position, because i always find it hard to break his posture or expose one of his arms. that might change now.

    I have yet to play with that lapel grip, but I've used the squid grip plenty from here. Is there a reason you opt for the cross lapel feed instead of the more common squid lapel feed? Maybe when I play with it, it will become more obvious.

  • @harrynevitt895
    @harrynevitt895 2 года назад

    Does this work better under hooking the leg bird is doing? because the grip seems harder to break if I do it with my left arm because people usually frame with their right arm ?

    What do you do if they push the forearm across your neck instead of getting a crossface? I’ve been having a lot of success with this version of the flower sweep but I felt like my head was pinned to the ground when my training partner pushed their forearm on my neck so I had to bail out and unhook the leg. Thanks for the vid!

    • @sathyawiltse9829
      @sathyawiltse9829 2 года назад +1

      If I get the lapel fed for the super flower sweep it can do a lot to nullify that. I'm free to cut the angle.
      Getting better at the entry can also do a lot to prevent that forearm from being a problem as well.

    I'mnot so impressed that people in closed guard in gi get swept, but the recent nogi footage against ultraheavies was very impressive, so I'mhoping for a nogi version. Also any chance you can get a better mike setup, and why did the wall need replastering in several places?
