I am currently considering becoming a Health Coach. This video is everything! Thank you so much for upholding such high standards and for your generous sharing of information with such transparency and clarity. I wish you were in Australia!
Excellent 😊 Thank you so much for clarifying the Scope of Practice for Functional Medicine Health Coaching, Please know how much your work helps us all to be our own Health and Wellness Advocates, God Bless You 🙏✝️🌅🕊️🌍😇
This is very important, thank you for making it Clear that Coaches cannot act as Clinical Nutritionist, Registered Dietician, Psychologist or Physicians. They cannot act as Registered Nurses & Nurse Practitioners either. Oh, and their Practitioners & Doctors will not give them a 2 minute directive. Most patients with serious issues are not compliant with the directives given to them over and over again each visit by their healthcare provider.
Thank you! This was very insightful. I am curious, would it be within a health coach's scope of practice to "recommend" certain supplements by, for example, educating on the anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric, or providing recipes online? I am a registered nurse so I can imagine the scope of practice is similar.
I am a FNP. I plan to start functional medicine certification program next month. Would there be limits in scope of practice if you are already a nurse practitioner? I live in Texas which isn’t full practice authority State.
Here is what I think will be the greatest hurdle that needs to be cleared in order to become a successful Functional Medicine Health Coach: “It is easier to change a man’s religion than to change his diet.” ~ Margaret Mead
